Fuel Injector Problems of GMC Jimmy

The contact owns a 2001 GMC Jimmy. The contact noticed that the on-board diagnostic system warning indicator would consistently illuminate on the instrument panel. The vehicle frequently misfired, which caused it to be inoperable. The dealer stated that he needed to replace the scpi fuel injector and the mass air flow sensors at the cost of $1,150. He is in the process of having the vehicle repaired. He called the manufacturer in reference to a voluntary recall for the state of California for 1996 to 2001 SUV's, but was not provided any assistance because the recall was not applicable for his state. The current and failure mileages were 72,000.

Vehicle suddenly accelerated when idiling. Dealer has been contacted, and has replaced fuel injectors. Please provide further details. The heating system malfunctioned due to heating core failure. The a/c was not blowing warm air. There was a clicking noise from the engine area because the power steering pump was leaking fluid. The vehicle leans to the left due to torsion bar out of adjustment. Front left and right axle seals were leaking. Transmission was leaking. Back window had air leak. The rear wiper sticks due to wiper motor failure. Front end makes clunking noise due to ball joint failure. There was clunk noise when shifting into gear due to rear d-shaft and u-joint failures. The intake gasket was leaking and was replaced. The throttle sticks. The serpentine belt failed and was replaced.

Vehicle had been intermittently losing power since date of purchase. Consumer contacted dealer, and had fuel injectors replaced. Consumer is still experiencing same problem. Please provide further details.

Fuel injector sticks, causing misfire.

Metal chafing sound coming from engine, causing the vehicle to stall. Dealer has replaced injector /fuel pump/oxygen sensor, and purge valve, defect is still occurring.

Defect in fuel injector is causing engine to completly die, loss of brakes, no power steering. Defect is still occurring . Dealer has replaced fuel injector twice. GMC has stated there is a problem, but cannot fix problem.
