Body problems of the 2000 GMC Sierra

Five problems related to body have been reported for the 2000 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Body problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2012

The contact owns a 2000 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that the front driver and passenger side door handles were inoperable. The contact could not enter the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and no repairs were made. The current and failure mileages were 200,000.

2 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/18/2011

Attempting to stop for a school bus, as I pressed on the brake pedal it went to the floor and the truck did not come to a complete stop. After pulling over, it was discovered that the brake line was leaking fluid on the ground. Upon further inspection, noticed the brake lines are corroded. Be it know that the frame and body parts on this truck are also rusted as to not pass state inspection. The truck is just over 10 years old and unsafe to drive due to multiple manufacture defects.

3 Body problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2008

Rocker panels are rusted out.

4 Body problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2001

Vehicle has a crack of 3 quarters going down on driver's side. Dealership is aware of problem.

5 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2001

Front passenger seat belt retractor is locking up while driving. Dealer notified. The driver side window makes noise when rolling down due to regulator assembly failure, also the center console would not open.
