Two problems related to brakes failed have been reported for the 2007 GMC Sierra. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Brakes failed completely, had to use emergency brake to stop. The brakeline was rusted thru. The truck only has 37,091 mi. And has never been in extreme cold as I live in florida.
Brakes failed, vehicle brought to a stop using 1st gear and parking brake, narrowly avoiding accident. Parked in parking lot and brake fluid drained to pavement. Dealer advises replacement of all brake lins as all are severely corroded (estimated cost - $2,400). Vehicle is exactly 5 years old with not many miles. Used in canada in the summer and florida in winter months. Only exposure to salt and snow is when encountered on trips to and from florida. Vehicle was undercoated at purchase. Very dangerous failure, most certainly must have been fatalities given the number of reports and could have been us yesterday or when towing 5th wheel RV.
