My truck started to activate the brakes in the middle of the 3 lane 680 freeway, doors started to lock and unlock, navigation went dark, muiltiple different displays on dashboard, numer of lights from the air conditioner unit, came on. Acceleration or brakes would not respond, we were unable to drive off the freeway. It was a scary moment, we were lucky that no big rig was following us, or it would had runs us over, and probably killed us.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph a ticking noise was heard and the brakes failed to decelerate the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with failed brakes that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was made aware of NHTSA campaign number 14v459000 (service brakes, air) however, the parts to do the repair were not available. The failure recurred on several occasions. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure, the failure mileage was unknown. Kr.
