1 Front Seat Belt problem of the 2004 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 02/06/2007

Passenger front seat belt locks where passenger is not able to move at all. The other seat belts do not do this. Due to law with using seat belts at all times this is a problem is an accident happens. Plus, passenger is uncomfortable when traveling long distances being stuck in on position and not being able to move at all.

2 Front Seat Belt problem of the 2000 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 10/01/2006

2000 GMC Sierra front passenger seat belt not working properly. Customer states that the seat belt is hard to pull and does not retract properly. The consumer initially reported the seat belt was making a squeaking noise. The dealer replaced the seat belt, but the new seat belt locked up on passengers restricting their ability to lean forward and was very tight. The dealer replaced the seat belt two more times and the restriction problem was still present. The dealer stated the belt was suppose to work that way. The consumer stated the original belt never worked that way. The consumer stated the last seat belt that was replaced not only restricted movement, but it did not retract smoothly. Once the seat belt was in use, it did not recoil leaving the belt loose and useless. In addition, the arm rest kept falling off and the seat no longer reclined.

3 Front Seat Belt problem of the 2005 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 02/13/2006

: the contact stated the passenger's side seat belt tightens up very tight on the chest. The dealer and manufacturer were alerted about the problem.

4 Front Seat Belt problem of the 2004 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 10/26/2004

While driving 40 mph in heavy fog the consumer lost control of the vehicle and went down an embankment and crashed into a tree. The driver side seat belt broke. As a result, the consumer sustained neck injuries and bruises. Please provide additional information.

5 Front Seat Belt problem of the 2001 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 10/24/2004

Passenger seat belt locks up, requiring it to be unbuckled and fully retracted before it can be fastened again.

6 Front Seat Belt problem of the 2004 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 10/16/2004

Consumer's vehicle was involved in an a roll over, and the air bags did not deploy. Also, seat belts did not secure the occupants. The driver was under the steering wheel, and the passenger was under the dashboard.

7 Front Seat Belt problem of the 2002 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 10/08/2004

The driver's side seat back frame failed at the welded joints. Driver was thrown to right and back while at highway speed. This component also serves as the shoulder/seat belt attachment.

9 Front Seat Belt problem of the 2001 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 08/02/2002

Brakes will go out while driving, and the pedal will go to the floor before the vehicle even starts to slow down. Contacted the dealer, and the dealer is not willing to do anything. The consumer states that the ride control will not go on; there is an internal short-replaced the ride control, the consumer states that the abs light stays on-faulty speed sensors, and right front seat belt is not retracting.

10 Front Seat Belt problem of the 1996 GMC Sierra

Failure Date: 03/25/1996

The defective passenger's seat belt tightens too much; and when the seat is up the passenger seatbelt is not long enough to latch on.
