Vehicle would not pass inspection because of parking brake failure. Talked to several mechanics who could identify the model, year and make of the vehicle as soon as I said parking brake - all stated that it was a very common problem, same with the wheel hub. Also air bag did not deploy when my son hit a deer with the vehicle.

Contact stated there was recall 05v379000 concerning the abs system. A local service dealer performed the recall repairs. After the repairs were done the contact applied the brakes, but the vehicle would not stop. Upon inspection, the dealer stated the front left hub needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the hub, and this corrected the problem. He had to cover the cost of the repairs. Updated 11/29/05.

The nuts on the hub caps became so hot, they blew the front driver and passenger side hub caps off. The calipers, rotors and hub caps have been replaced. The consumer was told that eh hub caps were being redesigned to withstand heat.

Experienced many occurrences of brake problems to which dealer could not diagnose. At 49,000 miles, dealer informed that right wheel hub/abs unit faulty. Replaced at $387 cost. Vehicle currently has 62,000 miles. Abs pump ran continously until disconnected. Dealer informed ecbm failure. Estimated cost to fix $800. Declined repairs due to cost. Gm definitely has a quality problem.

The center hub of the wheels constantly falls off. The plastic screws that hold the hub on the wheel are not securing the hub properly. The consumer has lost six of these hubs since owning the vehicle. The vehicle would buck when put into 4low and shifting into park or neutral from reverse or drive. The vehicle made a thumping noise when making left turns and the consumer could feel it in the steering wheel.

The first cap fell off the truck with only 405 miles, the others fell off soon after. All caps were replaced and soon fell off as well. One cap flew in front of an on coming vehicle almost causing a collision. The consumer stated the chrome on the rims were the problem. The consumer tried to get the dealer to replace the rims, but to no avail.
While driving at any speed and without warning, the brake pedal would stall. Then, seep to the floor. Dealer replaced hubs on the front two brakes to remedy the problem. The left front door was inoperative from the inside. The right wheel cylinder was leaking. Dealer replaced hub assembly. Dealer removed and replaced the brake pads, also resurfaced rotors.

Vehicle vibrates severely at speeds above 55. Vehicle shakes when brakes are applied. Dealer has advised potential problems with front hubs, rear shocks, wheels and tires. Vehicle has been to dealer three (3) times since 08-25-99 for diagnosis and repair of problem, but as of 09-10-99, the problem of overall major vibration hasn't been resolved.
Two wheel covers fell off.
