Air Bag Not Deploy problems of the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500

I was in an accident and hit a fence and then a power pole. The impact pushed the power pole about a foot and my engine was pushed into the interior. The airbag did not deploy. At this impact should the airbag have deployed?.

The contact owned a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500. While driving 65 mph and attempting to stop, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The driver sustained an concussion and injuries to the neck, left shoulder, and back. Medical attention was required. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the area for the air bags to deploy was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 195,000. The vehicle was destroyed. The VIN was not available.

Takata airbags. I was notified by mail june2016 of defective airbags. I've called my GMC dealer (mckinney Buick GMC - mckinney, TX) several times & they keep telling me parts are not available. This has been going on for over 1 1/2 years now. Airbags have not deployed, but am not comfortable continuing driving a vehicle that NHTSA deems unsafe.

Vehicle's airbags did not deploy upon collision with two concrete walls, causing a life threatening tbi and also severe damage to the left arm which resulted in it's inability to control/use below the elbow, and especially the hand. This was due to the brachial plexus injury that was caused when the airbags did not deploy as they were supposed to. I have attached the report from police and insurance company (with photos).

The contact sustained head, neck, and back injuries. The vehicle was destroyed and a police report was filed. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that there was a recall on the windshield washer warming fluid sensor. The contact was informed that the vehicle should not have been sold until the recall was repaired because the wire harness module was defective, which caused the air bag failure. The contact was informed that a claim investigator would inspect the vehicle the following week. The failure mileage was 22,000.
