Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problems of the 2008 GMC Sierra 1500

When will the following recall dispute with gm be resolved? I would like a remedy to this recall due to safety concerns. Gm recall # 2049151 / NHTSA # 16v381 / date issued: may 27, 2016 recall status: incomplete. Remedy not yet available recall description: takata corporation (�takata�) has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2007-2011 Cadillac escalade, escalade esv, escalade ext, Chevrolet avalanche, silverado 1500, suburban, tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, yukon, yukon xl, and 2009-2011 Chevrolet silverado 2500/3500 and GMC sierra 2500/3500 vehicles. This is based upon takata's decision that front passenger airbag inflators it supplied to gm are defective. Gm has submitted to NHTSA a petition for inconsequentiality and NHTSA has granted gm until August 2017 to complete its investigation and to submit all data supporting the petition. Takata recall of may 27,2016: airbag inflators - psan inflators I cannot have my vehicle airbags replaced/repaired as gm does not have a remedy for this recall as per mike shaw Buick GMC, 1313 motor city drive, colorado springs, CO 719-636-3881 ???.

Takata recall gm is still not replacing defective inflators. They were supposed to have completed their investigation months ago but there is silence.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called heafner motors inc (935 ms-6, beltsville, ms 38606; 662-563-7631) and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that the repair had been completed by adjusting the air bag temperature of the air bag inflator. The contact stated that the statement from the manufacturer was questionable given the vehicle was never taken to the dealer to have the repair performed. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Takata inflators air bags and tire stability lights both came on about the same time a couple months ago, dealership is quotes are high, im now afraid to drive my vehicle, I m at a point that I will have to park the vehicle.

Takata - gm recall 49152 - I received a recall notice dated July 2016 and they still do not have the parts to replace the front airbag inflators. I have called three times to check the status and they still do not have them.

Takata recall - bought 2008 truck new and I live in oklahoma. It is very hot here in the summers. Higher risk in hot climates and my vehicle has been exposed approximately 9 years. I have called the dealer three times over the last 15 months and they refer me to gm cust svc. Today cust svc tells me the same crap - they have not figured out what to do. It's simple - replace the inflators now - enough screwing around. Safety recall received dated July 2016. Still no parts at dealer. Gm is dragging their feet as long as they can. It is time to do something!.

Takata inflators: why is it taking so long to fix a problem that may result in injury or death. Until this problem is fixed it is my belief that there should be no production of any new vehicles. If air bags are still being installed, as per government regulations and safety standards, the automobile industry engineers should be able to come up with a retrofit. The government should force the issue. My vehicle is still on recall.

2049151 I would like my front passenger side airbag inflator replaced before it kills or serious injures someone. I was first notified of this problem a long time ago.
