1 Front Suspension Control Arm problem of the 2016 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 02/01/2019

Front end upper control arms and struts are broken causing a grinding popping sound. My vehicle has never been off roading, all highway miles. Nhtsa shows a recall article on this particular mechanical issue (see attachment) as a recall for 2016 models. My vehicle has not reached the three year warranty, but is over the 36,000 mile warranty. Since it has been a recall issue, I am requesting a recall that gm should take care of. However, gm refuses to handle all cost because it is out of 36,000 mile warranty.

2 Front Suspension Control Arm problem of the 2016 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 11/07/2017

Recall# 42190 upper control arm broke on my GMC Sierra 1500. I was driving out of a church parking lot and made a left turn on to a city street and my right front passenger tire fell off. I contacted gm warranty department and got it towed to dalton motors in marianna, ar. The technician stated that I had been in an accident. That wasn't true. He called sunrise GMC in memphis, TN off covington pike and told them all types of lies and to not fix it. I took it to sunrise on November 20, 2017 and the technician looked at it for 5 seconds and said I hit a pot hole and that he would not fix it or honor my warranty. A pot hole didn't cause this problem. I currently have a 5 year 36,000 mile warranty that covers this problem. There is also a current recall on this issue and I was not notified when I purchased the vehicle. I had to look it up on my own.

4 Front Suspension Control Arm problem of the 2010 GMC Sierra 1500

Failure Date: 02/01/2013

The 2010 GMC sierra ld 1500 had multiple premature failures associated with the electrical system. The failure were pertaining to the radio associated with an internal short from the instrument cluster/panel and the drivers side electronic function panel. Months after owning the vehicle, a failure progressed in which the driver was unable to use the function buttons for the windows and unable to lock or unlock the doors from the electronic function panel unless using the key fob to lock and unlock the doors. Only the front passenger and the rear passengers may wind the windows down due to the failure. The driver was only able to wind the window down on the drivers side due to the failure. In addition, the aux function shorted prematurely so when attempting to attach a device, it may or may not connect due to an internal electrical short in which it may not recognize the device (phone, mp3, tablet or ipad/ipod). An abnormal noise progressed from the front of the truck and upon a mechanics inspection, it was diagnosed that the upper control arm needed to be replaced, the drivers side window switch panel and recommended taking the vehicle further diagnostic testing on the internal electrical failures. There was also progression of premature rust under the frame in which the mechanic recommended coating the frame to prevent any further rusting under the vehicle. The vehicle was to be taken to the dealer for further testing and diagnosis. The approximate failure mileage was not available.
