Ignition Switch Problems of GMC Sierra 2500

Ignition switch failed internally when attempting to start the vehicle. Switch will not rotate to the start position. Steering wheel lock is not engaging (failed). Ignition tone notifying that the key is in the ignition is no longer working (was initially).

Problems turning ignition switch back and forth, and all other general motors truck this model both Chevrolet and GMC have had same event. Fathers truck is 2007 Chevrolet suburban has same problem.

Tl-the contact owns a 2012 GMC Sierra 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled when turning the key in the ignition switch. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 67,000. Djr.

My ignition also switches off due to the key chain being to heavy, I would like my vehicle fixed as well. I think gm is not telling the whole story on how many vehicle are affected by the ignition switches. I can prove my claim by attaching my two key chains together again and the problem will occur again.
