The "stability control disabled" sensor comes on followed by "reduced engine power" and my vehicle won't go faster than 5mph. This has happened at least 6 times in the past several months only upon start up of the vehicle. Sometimes, if I wait a couple of minutes and restart my car, it'll start just fine but the check engine light comes on. I first brought it into hendrick Chevrolet on 10/15/12. They charged me almost $700 to replace "app sensor assembly". Then I brought it in again on 11/6/12 for the same issue. They replaced the "connector at the throttle body" and charged me $223. 09. The issue temporarily went away. I then brought it back on 12/20/12 with the same issue but this time the check engine won't turn off as a result of the reduced engine power-stability control disabled warning. They simply reset the warning and that was it. Til this day, I continue to have problem with this vehicle going into reduced engine power/stability control disabled. This has become a constant issue and thorn on my side and each time I bring it in for service, they always tell me it's something else. I have read many of the same issues other owners have had. Why haven't there been a recall on this???.
The contact owns a 2004 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated that the check engine oil light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. She was not able to drive above 10 mph. She added oil to the engine and plans to take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection. The current and failure mileages were 140,200.
One side of engine block is burning out all 4 spark plugs; need diagnostic information sent to our mechanic so he can fix this problem. No response. Engine light is on. Total mileage on 2004 Yukon ll purchased from dave smith auto, kellog idaho in Nov of 2004 is 1,292. Yes, this is correct. One thousand two hundred and ninety two miles! I would think GMC or dave smith would be interested in fixing this problem especially with a new vehicle. Waiting for them to reply to warranty work. We are a remote site women's shelter. We need a vehicle that runs!.
