1 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem

Failure Date: 09/22/2012

While in the middle of driving, the "stability control diasabed" sensor comes on folloed by "reduced engine power" and my vehicle just shuts off. I have been fortunate the 4-5 times it has happened as I have been able to pull off the road, wait a couple of minutes and restart my car. I have already replaced a hub that my mechanic said was causing a "traction control" problem from earlier. I am reading online all of the nightmares and I unfortunately do not have thousands of dollars to keep trying to fix an issue that GMC is clearly aware of. I have 5 kids and frequently drive them around and someone is going to get hurt and I think GMC should take some responsibility.

2 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2009

2004 GMC Yukon while driving at normal speeds this vehicle will have a warning light come on that says "reduced engine speed" then it shuts down to 30 mph instantly. There is no time for reaction. This problem occurs intermittently. It has happened over 50 times! a few of the times almost resulted in fatal consequences in high traffic. Took the vehicle to the dealer. They said it was the throttle body. Replaced throttle body and the next day had the same issue. Took it back to the dealer, they said it was now the accelerator pedal assembly. Replaced the assembly and two days later had the same problem. Contacted GMC by phone and was basically told that there was nothing they could do because my vehicle wasn't on the safety recall list. I really need some advice or help before it costs my wife and four children their lives!.

3 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2005

Vehicle is a 2004 GMC Yukon denali. While driving 25-35 mph the vehicle will shut off on the consumer. This problem has happened twice in the same day, which was on 6-24-05. The brake light will come on then the vehicle loses all power. The consumer can get the vehicle to stop by applying extreme pressure to the brakes. The first time it occurred while consumer was stopping at a stop light. Less than 5 minutes later she was able to get the vehicle to start again. Afterwards she was pulling into a gas station when the vehicle shut off the second time. The consumer had taken it to the dealership the same day. The vehicle remained there until 7-2, and at this time they told her that they could not find a problem with the vehicle. The third time the vehicle shut down was on 7-3. This occurred while the consumer was driving 30-35 mph. The consumer had taken it back to the dealership on 7-5. This time they replaced the crank shaft position sensor. The consumer picked the vehicle up on 7-11. And today 7-12 the vehicle started shaking and jerking while going 60 mph. This problem was off and on until the consumer had stopped the vehicle. After starting the vehicle back up and driving 35-40 mph it stopped on the consumer for the fourth time. And as of now the vehicle is at the dealership. All repairs were done by the same dealership as purchased from. The vehicle is still under warranty. As of now the consumer has not contacted the manufacture.
