Carrier/rack problems of the 2011 GMC Yukon - part 2

Takata recall - product not available. Dashboard cracking in multiple places around airbag with normal use and sun shade used. GMC refuses to repar.

The dash is cracking in several locations. It has a large crack above the instrument cluster and also around the passenger airbag.

We purchased our vehicle September 2017 and didn't notice the cracks until after we purchased. This is very concerning to me seeing the potential recall of the passenger side airbags and an obvious defect having to do with the cracks found on my dash. One crack is over the passenger airbag where my 14 year old son usually rides and the other over the steering wheel. Does it really take someone being seriously injured or killed before something is done?.

Cracked dashboard. Possible injury or death resulting from deployment of the airbags with a cracked dashboard. There is a widespread problem as indicated by the number of internet complaints and news related stories.

Dash cracked over instrument panel an above air bag. . . Truck only has 54000 miles an has been well taken care of. . . These are not small cracks. . . Runs from defrost vent to almost top of dash in 2 places. . .

My 2011 GMC Yukon xl denali, dashboard has cracked out of nowhere I got in it one day and it was there I noticed it, up the driver side hump on the dashboard, and beside the passenger airbag, this is a safety hazard what if I get into a wreck pieces of dashboard would go flying everywhere, I have even contacted GMC about this issue and they don't care, I have attempted to glue the dash back together but it's still spreading, the more I drive the vehicle the more it spreads.

Dash was making a terrible squeaking noise and then one day it stopped. Checked the dash over to find 2 cracks, one by the passnager side air bag and another on the drive side above the instrument panel. I contacted gm since we were outside the warranty and they pretty much said suck it up not our problem. How has this not been recalled or addressed with so many complaints???!!!.

There is a definitive, unprovoked crack that appeared on the dashboard of my 2011 Yukon denali when it was stationary in my secure garage. The entire top panel now shakes and vibrates as a result of this crack. I travel with two small children with me on a daily basis, and am grossly concerned that as the crack continues to grow larger, so does the possibility that should my airbags deploy in the case of an accident, one of my small children or myself will be further injured by the broken plastic on the dashboard. In my opinion, this is indeed a safety issue.

My Yukon dash is cracked in 2 places. The dash is flapping due to the weight of the speaker. I am concerned about having an accident and the airbags deploying and sending shards of plastic everywhere. I have young grandchildren. This is not a cheap vehicle. We bought the best. I am shocked this is not a recall. I am very concerned.

The dashboard has cracked all over. Flaps and makes horrible sounds when driving. Very distracting and ugly.

" dashboard cracked" on April 6th I got into my car and saw that there was a huge crack in my dashboard right above the steering wheel. I have reached out to gm about this problem and they are unwilling to fix the problem even though my car is under gm certified bumper to bumper warranty. I am afraid that if there is a car accident then parts of this dashboard that is cracked will come off and injury whoever is in the car.

My dash board cracked in two places and it happen around a year ago but just learned that it might be a manufactured defect. It started from one day to another.

Dash board cracking above instrument panel and spreading across to airbag. Came out about a month ago and found a crack in the dash. It has now spread across the dash toward the airbag.

My dashboard is cracked on the driver side. This happened recently, although there is evidence of a repair of another crack by the passenger airbag before I bought it.

The dashboard spontaneously cracked and is unsafe. Thousands of vehicles have this defect and GMC is ignoring the problem. There is a manufacturing defect where there is not enough brackets for the length of the dashboard that creates the cracking. Even if you spend $1200 to repair it because of the faulty design it will crack again. A recall must be initiated. Newer models have been changed to correct the issue. Gm offers no help to consumers on this issue.

I am having many problems with the gear when I place it on park then when I try to move it to drive or reverse it is stuck and wont move from park. . Also dash crack needs to be repaired. At cost of GMC, please help me.

There is a deep crack in my dashboard over the steering wheel and a slight crack in the dashboard near the airbag by the passenger seat. The crack keeps spreading. My dashboard vibrates and shakes when I drive.

Cracked dash of. Center and behind the steering wheel. December I got in the vehicle and noticed a black line on the dash. Closer observation, I found a crack. 1000 dollars to repair. I am concerned about air bag release and the integrity of the dash.

I have a 2011 Yukon xl, dash cracked below the airbag and was replaced under warranty in 2012. On November 13, 2016 the new dash cracked above the airbag. I am currently fighting with the dealership and GMC corporate. I'm being told that as a second owner GMC will not replace the dash, regardless that I've put 55,000 of the 66,000 miles on the vehicle and have owned 90% of its time on the road. From everything I've read, the dash will become a projectile if the airbag is deployed and quite possibly seriously injure any vehicle occupants. This is a very common, dangerous situation that GMC needs to correct via recall.

The dash above the instrument panel is severely cracked and without any reason. There is also another crack in the center area. If air bag deployed not sure what could happen. Car has always been kept out of extreme weather in a garage. I have owned other GMC Yukons and have never had this problem before.

1) dashboard is cracking on the drivers side. The crack has progressed directly over the arched area of the dashboard over the instrument panel. The crack has progressed to the point that the dashboard is flapping where the crack is located. 2) two of my tires are losing air pressure due to corrosion problems with the chrome rims/wheels. One of the rims has a 2 inch crack in the chrome finish.

The vehicle was stationary when large crack first appeared in the dashboard. The crack originated from the front windshield a n runs toward the driver seat. The crack makes a y shape as it approaches the drivers seat. The dash makes a vibrating/rattling noise from the cracked area and the crack continues to slowly spread.

Dashboard cracking the dashboard of my 2011 GMC Yukon xl denali has cracked next to the airbag which would pose a great deal of harm should the vehicle be involved in an accident and splinter or cause a fault with the airbag. The vehicle only has 53,355 miles on it. This appears to be a very common problem as I am researching and have found hundreds upon hundreds of similar complaints and occurrences.

The dashboard in from of the driver's side has developed a large crack in it. The crack starts at the seam and goes almost to the front of the dashboard. It is about 9 - 10 inches long. The dashboard has also become separated where the front and back part come together in the middle. I have read where this is a common problem and could be considered a hazard in the event of an accident and the air bags deploying causing the dashboard to break apart and send sharp pieces of the dash flying through the interior. I have read where these cracks are very common on 2007 - 2013 gm trucks and suvs. It is considered to be a manufacturing deflect as it has happened to thousands of vehicles. I was quoted 1,600. 00 to replace this by a dealership. This is unacceptable for a vehicle that I paid in excess of 60k for. You should force gm to recall these vehicles for this problem. A picture of my dash is attached. I am not exactly sure of when it happened as you can't see it when sitting in the drivers seat. I did first notice it late this summer of 2016. There are 3 cracks in the dashboard of my 2011 GMC Yukon. One crack is near the left front corner of the passenger airbag. Two cracks are located near the front right side of the instrument panel. I believe this is a defect in the materials and the gm should replace the dashboard free of charge. Vehicle was stationary.
