Brake light stopped working but it cant be repaired unless you replace the entire light assembly. This is a very common problem. So much so, it is a 3 month wait to get it! not to mention it costs $500-800!! now I cant even drive the car because of the safety concern of someone rear ending me. GMC needs to recall these or pay the 3 month car rental fee.

I'm just 38,000 and just past 3 yrs !! absolutely ridiculous $1,500. 00 for each sides just for the parts !! unbelievable!! that's not included time and labor. !! so very angry!! no recall on this but in my finding, I am hearing this is an on going problem.
GMC 2016 Yukon xl denali back taillights and brake lights are out. All of them. Very dangerous. GMC denied responsibility but everyone I know that has the same car says they have had issues. Never had this in any other vehicle in 30+ years of driving. They are obviously faulty and they need to accept responsibility.
Driver side brake light out . Its a known issue with the lights and GMC refuses to acknowledge its an issue. . .

The brake lights in the 2016 GMC Yukon vehicle failed. The design requires a whole light assembly replacement. The dealer quoted $750 per light. The problem seems to be widespread and caused by faulty light assembly.
Rear right brake light went out due to known defect. Metal piece broke that allows a connection between the led lights. GMC should recall these lights since there are so many people having safety issues with them.
Rear brake light led strip is out. Vehicle only has 37k miles on it. Dealership will not repair it but wants to sell a new brake assembly for $750 each. If you tap on the light assembly, it comes on momentary and goes out again.
2016 GMC Yukon has only 40k miles, yet brake lights on rear driver side are out. Hundreds of complaints online re:same issue; cost to repair is $650-$800. This shouldn't be an issue with this age of the vehicle. Concern is the passenger side will go out next and cost another $650-$800.
The rear brake lights are not functioning consistently. The turn light and reverse light work but not the break lights. They are their own assembly and have to be replaced at a cost of $650/each at the dealership. Online I found hundreds of others that had the same issue.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that the passenger side brake light went out. The entire unit was replaced by an independent mechanic with manufacturer approved parts. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 39,500.
The rear tail/brake lights on the GMC Yukon series have a defect that keep causing the running lights and brake lights to work intermittently. I had an entire new light installed and the same issue occurred within a few thousand miles. GMC is aware of this problem and has yet to issue a recall for these defective lights. Obviously this is an important safety feature of the vehicle in order to alert other drivers of mere presence, braking, and turning actions.
Right led brake light has stopped functioning. Through online search engine, I've discovered that this is an increasingly frquent problem that GMC has refused to address.
Passenger side brake light not working. Yukon has under 40,000 miles and is meticulously cared for. I have read many other complaints online and this seems to be a quality issue. There is no easy fix and a complete replacement is required. This is a safety issue given it is a brake light. Brake lights should not malfunction in this manner. A recall is certainly in order as failure to signal braking can be a risk for myself as the driver and others.
Running boards failing to work properly all the time. Sometimes will start to go down but return up when opening door. Will also fail to go up after closing door and remain down. Middle row dvd screen is black and not working. Rear brake lights working off and on. Horrible loud squealing sound under the hood. The vehicle will also begin to shake randomly and feels jumpy at times.
Passenger side led brake light failed at 60000 miles. $800 dealer repair quote to replace. No manufacture support.
The right rear brake light quit working. Will come on when pushed against car. Dealer said it was electrical in the brake light unit.
Rear brake light works intermittently.
Brake light work intermittently. Very dangerous when you don't if they are work or not.
My vehicle has only 47,000 miles and my passenger side brake light is out. There is also water and moisture that builds up in both taillights. I was told it would be $800 each to replace and was no longer under warranty. I am the original owner and purchased the vehicle new. The vehicle has never been in any accidents. This is a serious issue and needs to be covered by the manufacturer. The led lights should not go out this quickly.
Rear led brake lights no longer light up.
Right rear brake light assembly failed. It is a sealed assembly and cannot be repaired without breaking the sealed/sonic welded assembly. Replacement assembly is $700+ dollars.
Led brake light on driver side just stopped working. No damage done to the exterior.
My car is barely 3 years old and has only 24,000 miles on it because I work from home. I specifically lease cars so I don't have to deal with issues. This cars rear passenger brake light no longer works! the service manager at the GMC dealership says they have to replace a great deal of these in cars not very old like mine. This is definitely a safety issue for brake lights to be going out on a 3 year old car! it has been out for months and I was just procrastinating because you must go to a dealership shop to get it replaced. You cannot get it at a part store yourself so my car probably only had 20,000-21,000 miles on it when this started.
I have been told by multiple people that one or both of my brake lights has not been working. I have tested them myself and I too get mixed results. Sometimes one works and other times neither. Being that I drive 30 minutes to and from work everyday this is a major concern.
Brake light went out at 58k miles, it's an led light and should not go out that fast. Upon research this seems to be a manufacture defect effecting 2015-2017 GMC Yukons. At no point did my car alert me of the issue, luckily someone pointed it out to me before it caused a wreck.
Rear passenger brake light stop working, vehicle is only 2 years old. We should not be having this issue so soon or at all, since led lights normally dont stop working. I also looked into fixing it and its gonna cost $700 dollars. This is ridiculous!.
Led bulbs in brake lights work intermittently and eventually go out.
Left rear led brake light works on and off.
The rear brake light work intermittently. It's mostly the driver's side but he both go on and off when I'm driving and parked. I have almost been in several accidents. I am afraid I am going to get rear ended with my children in the car. I have seen many vehicle just like mine with at least one brake light out. When he looked this up online it is a known issue. My sister has the exact same year make and model. She experienced the exact same brake light issues. She opened a case with gm and they worked with her to cover it and charged her the deductible. She was over the 36k miles gm constantly references. This is so unsafe. The air on this vehicle also does lot stay cold. It turns warm when I slow down.
Progressive intermittent brake light functionality that eventually culminated with complete inoperability; only the right/left brake light assemblies are affected; reverse lamps operate; upper center brake light functions normally; this is a known problem with GMC brake light assemblies per multiple forums.
Model Yukon xl 2016, less than 50k miles, brake lights have failed completely. No rear braking lights. Entire assembly has to be replaced. First noticed in July, have only had vehicle for 14 months.
