Tranny failed at 92k miles even though properly maintained. Since new tranny installed by dealer (out of pocket cost) had to return due to tranny slipping into neutral when driving highway speeds and taking foot off gas. Dealer performed tcm and ecm flash updates. Cost out of pocket for programming. Issue came back less than 2000 miles later.

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the transmission shifted hard from first to second gear while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while driving 80 mph, the vehicle independently decelerated while depressing the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The vehicle was taken to an independent and several internal parts of the transmission were replaced, and the transmission control module (tcm) was also replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, where the contact was informed that the repairs had not addressed the cause of the failure. The contact was informed that the failure was likely related to the transfer case. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 161,000.

First problem started back in may. . It’s went downhill ever since. Hard shifting was happening. Gm dealer said I needed a new transmission. Found out from local repair shop that I needed a torque converter ($600) multiple transmission fluid changes (apparently many issues for a lot of people) changed that. Then had to change valve body & tcm. ($540) everything started working but not 100% did a full tune up having multiple misfires constantly then shuttering when idle. Also replaced ecm ($200+)after changing all spark plugs, wires, oil, etc. The ac was having issues had been having issues for months. Kept adding freon had to replace ac condenser (works great now, was told by repair shop that’s also very common in these year models. Condensers are all weak in the same spot) just recently October 2022, my instrument cluster started going haywire. Gauges going off and on screens going blank. Had alternator and battery tested both test fine. No loss of power but when hitting the start/stop vehicle would continue to run and lock and unlock when it wanted. Husband took the alternator out to have it tested again. They tested 3x 1st. Good, 2nd error, 3rd bad ( it was overcharging at 16. 5v) replaced alternator ($290) gauges still going haywire, like before it is only sometimes, when they do it’s bad bad. . But I can also drive to town and back 20-30 miles and not the first issue. Just left gm with a new battery distribution fuse block ($153) because of course it can’t just be a regular ($8-10) mega fuse, hopefully this will fix my issue. We pay too much money for this vehicle to have all of these issues & none be under warranty. I’ve been having the taillight issues as well ever since I purchased the car in 2018. When I received the recall on the taillight it was 6 years up to 72,000 & of course my vehicle had 79k miles on it at that time so that’s wasn’t covered.
Transmission code p0700 and p0796 ( pressure control) I was on the interstate and my 2015 GMC Yukon slt engine locked up and shift down to 2nd gear. Causing other cars to almost hit me from behind and possibly causing an accident. I had to quickly veer off on the side of the road so that they wouldn’t hit the back of me. Immediately my engine light came on. Didn’t have this problem prior to the breakdown. Brought it to GMC dealership they told me my torque converter was bad along with computer tcm and valve body. They said I need a new transmission. My SUV have 132k miles. I called around at other transmission shops and they all said they are getting 3-4 GMC Yukons in to fix a week and knew exactly what the problem was with SUV. They couldn’t understand why GMC wasn’t correcting the problem. Also, last year had to replace the cam shaft, lifters and catalytic convertor that’s was $6000 now they tell me $5500 for transmission. That’s $12000+ in repair in lease than 1. 5 years. Never have I had this much major problem on a vehicle. This is a major safety issue especially on interstate.
My Yukon makes very hard shifts when accelerating and decelerating. The tcm was reprogrammed after vehicle shut off on the high way last November. Now the truck shudders between 25 and 45mph especially when climbing or filled with passengers. Vibration can be felt through the cabin.
I bought 2007 denali on 8/15 and it had to go in for repair 8/17 because the engine hot/ac turned off came on. Got the car back 8/20 at 7pm and 8 am the next morning 8/21 the same message came up on the dash board. I was told it was ok to drive until I could get it in for repair again on 8/22. Tried to start the car on 8/22 and the car wouldn't start. I don't feel safe in this vehicle at all and would like to get a brand new truck as since I am paying $48,000 for the truck.

My 2000 Yukon has had problems with the engine stalling during braking and turns since I bought it in 2001 with 10,000 miles on it. I took it in to the dealership several times while still under warranty and I was given the run around. The problem is now severe and has almost caused me to crash more times than you and I have fingers and toes. I cannot trade this vehicle in because of this problem nor can I find a mechanic or dealership (ha ha ) that can find out where the problem lies. I have been told that the intake motor or the intake gasket need to be replaced but diagnostics cannot back these theories up. Today I nearly hit a telephone pole because the vehicle died and lost power steering while I was making a turn.
