Vehicle started having a vibration at cruising speeds after 100k miles. Dealership states the driveshaft is wharped and needs replacing. . Rear taillights also are going in and out intermittently. Dealer claims the leds are bad and the whole light assembly needs replacing. I have owned many vehicles and have never had issues with a bent driveshaft or defective taillights that require the whole assembly to be replaced. The light assembly is $750 quoted by dealership.

Severe vibration issue. Started at about 65 mph and let off about 74. At it's peak, about same as holding a jack hammer instead of a steering wheel. . Dealers are blaming tires, one idiot told me vibration was normal. It is not. The sound seems to be coming from passenger rear quarter area. Three dealers cannot diagnose. It was a failing u-joint on the rear of the main driveshaft. Mine failed I lost the yoke assembly and the driveshaft, and if going quicker - would have likely punctured the gas tank. Likely resulting in a fireball.

I leased a 2016 Yukon denali xl on 9/15/15. It has two major problems. 1. Buffeting/pressure noise - a noise as if a window is cracked, except it's not cracked. This occurs at speeds from 24mph and up and causes ears to pop and is noticeable to virtually every passenger I have had. 2. Whole-truck vibration - occurs between 70-80mph in entire vehicle. Wheel replacements, tire replacements, road-force balancing, driveshaft replacement, driveshaft "balancing", etc. . . . Nothing has fixed it. I have driven 13 2016 Yukon, Yukon xl, tahoe and suburbans. Every single one has the buffeting issues. All but one has the vibration issues. Gm has issued a pi stating that the roof bows may have come disconnected and they need to be reattached. The issue here is that reattaching them doesn't fix the buffeting issue. I have a date-stamped log of every dealer visit, conversation, email, etc. And am glad to share it. These issues are ridiculous to occur in any car much less a 75k flagship car that pulls in 3-7k in profit for gm/dealers per vehicle.

I purchased a 2007 Yukon and since that time I have had the rear axle bearing replaced 2 times at 43k miles and again at 93k due to a humming noise extremely loud. Again the noise recurred at 123k miles I returned to dealer they refused to diagnose the problem because the warranty was expired at 100k. I mentioned that the noise returned for the 3rd time. Ii continued to drive the vehicle and a few days later while driving on the freeway w my daughter the car locked ( differential). The differential gears broke. . I had it towed back to the last dealer that repaired vehicle and they mentioned it was out of warranty ( which is why they couldn't inspect it unless I paid). I then took it to my home dealer where car was purchased and they discovered an intact screw when they removed the cover from differential. Mechanic noted that the previous dealer that worked on vehicle might have not tightened bolt correctly since bolt had no damage of threads and was intact. I then called gm customer service and they refused to correct problem. Service director did mention that axles could have shot out and caused fatal crash keep in mind my daughter of age 6 was in the car. Dealer (home dealer) still has vehicle and dealer that last repaired refuses to correct problem. It has been 1 year and 1 month since last repaired and mentioned if not tightened properly it would have already caused problem by now. Please advise if I have any alternative course of action the repairs exceed 5000. 00 dollars not including any damage to the transmission when drive shaft locked . . .

Making 3-point turn on dirt road, power steering failed. Upon inspection at repair shop, found that shaft on power steering pump had fractured. Required replacement of power steering pump. This corresponds to NHTSA campaign id number 05v005000 and NHTSA action number ea04012, although GMC has told me that my VIN is not included. It should be.

The transmission was leaking and recalled and that was fixed by gm. The brake lights sometimes over heat and I had to replace the saddles on them. I do not even know they go out but I have people honking at me that I have no lights in the rear. Now with my warranty out and have 86. 000 miles on it the fuel pump is out on the vehicle at a 700 dollar cost. The door knob fell off, I have oil pressure issues all of the time. Last November the drive shaft fell off as I was driving down the road and had to pick it up off of the interstate which someone could have gotten hurt. Brake issues. When you spend 48,000 dollars on a vehicle it makes you sad that gm does nothing to help their customers. Maybe the government should not help them anymore. Today they wanted me to take it to gm and pay 200 dollars for a diagnosis. Just more money in their pocket. I want to another shop for advise. This car is definitely a disappointment nd lemon.
I pulled a boat with the vehicle (2000 GMC Yukon xl 2500) about 275 miles to a lake and put it in the water. Took the boat out of the water and started backing it into a space when I heard a strange "pop". Then realized that all power assisted braking and steering was gone. Had to leave the boat where it was, and was happy the problem didn't occur while on the highway with my family. Tested the vehicle to make sure I could steer and stop it under careful circumstances, then drove it directly, slowly, and carefully to the dealer about 50 miles. My own investigation found a recall id number 05v005000: "hydraulic pump driveshaft that can fracture, resulting in immediate loss of hydraulic power steering assist. On certain vehicles equipped with hydro-boost power brakes, the same condition can result in loss of power assist for braking after the reserve pressure is depleted. " the dealer confirmed this was exactly the problem with my vehicle, but the recall did not cover my VIN - 3gkgc26u6yg192810. Seemed strange to me that 98000+ other vehicles of the same type from the same year are covered, but mine wasn't. Now I see that there are at least two other complaints here with the same circumstances as mine. I think the recall needs to be widened. Though I got no initial help from the dealership, I called the GMC recall 800 number and they directed me back to the dealers general manager and said I should have him speak to the gm representative about compensation in my case. I did that, and at least they did cover the cost of the part (about $500), but not the labor of $193 to replace the pump. I asked to keep the old pump and was told that I could, but was not given the pump or an explanation when the vehicle was picked up. The receipt from the dealer seems to indicate a "core return" under parts, so I guess I would have had to pay to keep the old part and not return it. Since the repair, the power steering and braking have worked properly, even in towing.
Multiple failures; a/c odors, door lock, suspension alignment and brakes. There were problems with the following: weather strip was loose, the a/c blew warm, the belts squeaked, there was a mildew odors, the window regulator, the front seat belt squeaked, the door panel, the steering wheel rattled, drive shaft, accelerator pedal, the wipers were noisy, the hinge pin on the radio was loose, engine noises, a/c drain would not drain at times until the passenger door was closed/water lead and caused by the left front floorboard. Vehicle experienced vibration, dealer said it was fixed, however while driving on the expressway the back of the drive shaft fell down on the road. Nlm.
Purchased vehicle used from mei auto brokers 407 834 6244 on 11/06/01 took vehicle to courtesy GMC 407 767 2070 on 11/08/01 spoke with dave junkins ext 1236 . Dave told me that the driveshaft was unbalanced and that caused the shaking at speeds greater than 45 mph. He also stated that it was a manufacturing error and that it was like that(unbalanced w/ shaking ) since manufactured I am deeply concerned that this driveshaft shaking and vibrating since new has caused damage to either the transmission or differential and subsequent failure is imminent. To this date 11/20/01 I am still awaiting word from dave at courtesy on when a new part will arrive and repairs will be preformed.
