Fuel Injector Problems of GMC Yukon

The contact owns a 2024 GMC Yukon xl. While the contact's daughter-in-law was driving 60 mph, there was an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle before the vehicle shut off. The vehicle was restarted. While the contact's daughter-in-law was driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate 20 mph. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with leaking fuel injectors. The contact was informed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,744.

Speedometer and braking lights failed without warning while driving. Also vehicle would not shift above 2nd gear. Dealer diagnosed that electronic control module(ecm) was flooded with gasoline due to a defective leaking fuel injector. Dealer recommended that consumer replace all 8 injectors because they are exhibiting the same potential to fail/leak. Harness, cpi fuel, meter, vcm, core return, seal and switch assembly were replaced.

The vehicle would stall without warning. Typically, the stall would occur while the vehicle was cold, or during turns at intersections-going from one roadway to another. Dealers response has been a "dirty throttle body," code j5485.

While driving about any speed vehicle will stall and lose electrical power and power steering. Had taken vehicle to a technician. Technician told consumer that cause may had been with fuel injector sticking, and had happened four times, just like safety bulletin g99066b, may 2000.

Engine check light appeared, indicating engine misfiring. Dealer explained that it was being caused by fuel injectors clogged up caused by gasoline formula in southern California.
