Vehicle stalls while in motion. Figured out it may be running out of gas due to the gauge not working. Now, it stalls when it only has a half a tank of gas, not completely empty. Put 16 gallons of gas in the 30 gallon tank, truck runs smooth. Replaced the fuel filter twice. Replaced the battery, tested the alternator, results no alt. Problem. Check engine light on, speedometer is off, gas gauge is off, and the rear view mirror display lights go on and off erratically. Biggest problem is when I break the truck will shut off. This has been going on since Nov. 2010, when we replaced the battery and quit using a certain type of gas it seemed to be fine. Now, it is acting up and today was the first incident since early December.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon. While driving at highway speeds or lower, the transmission shifts very hard. There is also a harsh pounding sound coming from the transmission. All of the electrical components on the instrument panel failed. The dealer changed the crankshaft sensor. While driving, the contact cannot tell when the gear is in neutral. The speedometer displays inaccurate speeds and the air bag light illuminates. The plastic on the window fell off and the front driver's side door handle sticks when it is pulled, and will not go back in. The contact hears a rubbing sound coming from the steering column. The instrument panel cluster has been replaced and the check engine light would remain illuminated. The current mileage was 29,000 and failure mileage was 10,229. Update 09/10/08
the lug nut caps were missing, the check engine light was on. The gas cap was not sealing. The dealer replaced the gas cap. Updated 09/15/08.

The contact complained about a fuel system problem. When putting gas in the vehicle and filling it up the gas spilled out underneath the gas tank. The contact has taken the vehicle to an independent party for service. The contact did not know exactly what the cause of the problem was at this point. Also, abs system failed. When slowing down or going to stop the abs is engaged at any speed. The contact called gm, and they said they knew about the problems. The contact took vehicle to the dealer, and had the wheel sensor replaced. That has fixed the problem with the brakes. General motors was contacted over the problems, they said that vehicle was not included at this time. Gm did told the contact that they would give him a coupon for a new 2006 vehicle.

Fuel tank/filler assembly causes vapors to backup into gas pumps equipped with vapor reclamation systems. This causes a gas pump so equipped to shutoff prematurily when refilling the vehicles fuel tanks from any percentage of capicity. There for, filling the tank becomes especially time consuming, frusturating and potentially hazardeous as one is constantly trying to override the systems automatic shutoff inorder to put any reasonable quantity of gallons into the vehicles fuel tank. It becomes difficult to know whether the gas pumps auto shutoff is being triggered by fuel backup due to tank design problems or the tank actually starting to overfill. This issue primarely occurs with the 38. 5 gallon fuel tank.

Gas tank cap was not properly shut, forcing raw fuel into rollover vents and that sensors were shutting fuel down and raw fuel was escaping/leaking, resulltin gin a fire.
