I am formally requesting a complete refund for my vehicle. It has only 6,300 miles, and the remedy provided for the recall does not adequately address the issue. The recall explicitly indicates defects in the engine components (rods/cam shafts) that may lead to a loss of propulsion. Merely inspecting the vehicle and adding thicker oil does not resolve the underlying problem; it only postpones the inevitable expiration of my warranty. Currently, there are no warning lights illuminated, as the vehicle is not driven frequently. The recall raises significant concerns, and gm should be taking more substantial measures than simply applying thicker oil as a solution. This approach feels like a temporary fix rather than a genuine resolution. I have communicated with the dealership, and have been informed there is currently no solution available for this matter. They are awaiting further instructions on how to proceed. I request a more thorough investigation into this issue for an appropriate refund, and I also wish to have this matter documented for future reference.

My 2021 GMC Yukon denali is affected by NHTSA recall #25v-274. The recall notice states that defects in the engine’s connecting rod and/or crankshaft can cause engine damage and failure, resulting in sudden loss of propulsion and increasing crash risk. The recall status for my vehicle is currently listed as “incomplete – remedy not available. ” my dealership confirmed that no repair is available and further told me that GMC will not authorize a buyback, trade-in, or loaner vehicle until a remedy is developed. This has left me with an unsafe vehicle that cannot be repaired, yet I am still obligated to make monthly payments. This defect creates a serious crash risk because the engine may fail and the vehicle could lose all propulsion without warning. My family is forced to either risk driving a defective vehicle or go without reliable transportation. Dealer interaction •dealer confirmed that the recall is active but has no available remedy. •dealer stated GMC will not authorize a buyback, trade-in, or loaner vehicle until the recall repair is developed. •I am effectively stranded with an unsafe vehicle and no safe options. Remedy I am requesting that GMC be required 1. Buy back my vehicle under federal recall and warranty obligations; or 2. Provide a safe, comparable loaner or replacement vehicle at no cost until the defect is remedied. If a loaner is provided, I will continue making my monthly payments on my Yukon denali.

Recall for engine propulsion. Say that there is no remedy yet. I have read the warnings about what may happen and I am terrified to drive the vehicle. Gm says to contact the dealer, dealer says to contact gm. No one wants to take initiative. If they cannot fix the car, they should buy the car go back so I can get something different. I have been driving an old car around because I’m am afraid of this one. Please help me.
My engine failed while I was driving & I had no warning. It was very scary & dangerous. Luckily I was in an area where I could get off the road quickly. It started skipping then lost power. I basically coasted off the road & had to call for help. It was making a bad knocking noise. This happened 2 weeks ago on April 16. It has been sitting at glynn smith. GMC dealership since. I was told by the service manager that the engine failed & I will need a new engine. The engines are on back order now. I fear they will replace it with the same problem. I see the recall this week but will changing the oil viscosity really fix it?? doubtful. Someone is going to get killed or hurt from this problem. I do not want the same issue to happen with a new engine.
I was driving with my [xxx] son and my car just stalled out in the middle of the road. I couldn’t start it and we were stuck in the middle of the road. My husband arranged for a tow and the repair shop (safe auto repair mont belvieu) told me that this type of thing they have seen a lot of. The fuel pump power control module needed to be repaired and they said when that happens it sometimes shorts out the fuel pump system too. They said they had to repair 4 like this already during the week. My neighbor said the exact same thing happened to her friend GMC at4 a month ago and was also driving and the car just stopped. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Noticeable ticking from the motor, loss of power while driving and smoking. Took to dealership to for repairs. Lifters replaced on one side, within 30 miles after leaving dealership vehicle lost power and would not crank. Per dealership same issue with spun bearing and crankshaft. New lifters and crankshaft placed. While driving 3 weeks later vehicle shifted into neutral and lost power and hand to coast to side of the road. Replace battery and still would not crank, had to be jumped off and able to drive home. 3 codes were retrieved from reader.
Vehicle engine stalled while driving in school parking lot. Safety concern as car when from “r” to “n” while backing up (2x). Engine would not turn on afterwards. Vehicle code p129f showed trouble with fuel pump power flow control module.
High pressure fuel pump regulator failed and cause gas leaking, reduced engine power and gas smell coming back in vehicle. It was also blowing out white smoke. It had delayed ignition starting. The engine light did come on. Several makes and models of GMC has had recalls for this problem. The 2017 GMC Yukon was not included for this recall and should have been.

I am writing to express serious safety concerns regarding our 2023 GMC Yukon xl denali, which has been in our possession for less than two years and has only 24,000 miles. On multiple occasions, while driving at high speeds on the freeway with our four young children, the vehicle unexpectedly lost power and shifted into neutral without warning. This occurred approximately four times on March 9, 2025, when we contacted onstar for assistance. Despite their response indicating no alerts on their end, we were advised to reach out again if the issue persisted. Unfortunately, the problem did occur again on March 16th, which prompted us to contact onstar and have the vehicle towed to the nearest dealership for further evaluation. The service department has since informed us that the motor requires replacement. Upon conducting additional research, it seems this may be a known issue with many vehicles manufactured by gm around the same time. We are deeply concerned by this safety hazard, especially given that the malfunction could have led to a life-threatening accident. While we are grateful that we were fortunate enough to avoid any serious consequences, we believe a solution beyond standard repairs is necessary to restore our confidence in the safety of this vehicle. Our family’s well-being and trust in the reliability of our vehicle are of the utmost importance.
In March 2025, a situation happened to me during a six hour round trip drive. I experienced a loss of acceleration. Vehicle engine felt it was stumbling when accelerating or seemed like I had ran something over. I don't remember seeing any lights coming on. Pulled over immediately, turned off the vehicle. Turned it back on and drove back home three hours worried it may happen again. I didnt see any warning lights on the trip.
While driving back home on the highway (I-95) on February 26, 2025, my truck stopped accelerating right in the middle of the highway and cut off. Tried to crank it back up to no avail. I had it towed to the nearest GMC dealer which is GMC coral springs. They did an inspection and immediately communicated that the fuel pump module had failed and needed to be replaced. The only option at the time was to just have it fixed because I was out of warranty. At the time, I had about 100k miles on it and the guy at the dealer told me that he's supriesed it lasted that long as those modules usually go out before 100k mile. I got it fix and on March 1, 2025, the truck was ready for pickup. Fast forwarding, now GMC is recalling the 2021 Yukon with recall n252516900 for the same exact issue. I spoke to GMC corporate this morning to see if I can be reimbursed for the cost. When the rep tina ran my VIN, she states my VIN wasn't attached to the recall number. So I was trying to understand that the issues are the same, why can't they reimburse me. Same issue on the same year truck. GMC refused to help me. I'm so disappointed because I'm not even sure why my truck wasn't included in the recall but has the same issue. I need your help. Please and thank you. (I contacted the dealer to have the email me a copy of my invoice for the service at the time, however I haven't received it. I will contact them again to see if they can email it again. But I will obtain a copy of it even if I have to drive out ther).
Fuel line rubs between cab and tank making a hole. Fuel pours out on when driving or running. Huge fire risk. Glad I caught it before the car burned up with us in it.

The engine of my 2024 GMC Yukon denali failed unexpectedly at 45 mph, shutting off without warning and shifting into neutral. My wife, three passengers, and two dogs were in the vehicle, which coasted to a stop. After several attempts, it restarted, and the check engine light illuminated. Alpine Buick GMC confirmed catastrophic engine failure, requiring replacement of the engine, radiator, hoses, and other parts. The vehicle remains at the dealership, and the failed components are available for inspection. This sudden shutdown posed serious safety concerns. My wife lost control over acceleration and power steering, increasing the risk of an accident. Had this occurred on a highway or in traffic, the consequences could have been severe. This raises concerns about the engine’s reliability and potential risks to other drivers. Alpine Buick GMC confirmed the engine failure and the need for full replacement. I am the sixth customer awaiting this repair, indicating a broader issue. The estimated wait time for an engine is two weeks to three months, creating a significant disruption. Inspection by manufacturer, police, or insurance the vehicle has been inspected by dealership technicians but not by GMC representatives, police, or insurance adjusters. I am open to further inspections to determine the cause and assess whether a recall or corrective action is necessary. No warning lights or symptoms appeared before the engine shut down. The check engine light illuminated only after restarting on the third attempt. The absence of prior alerts suggests a flaw in the vehicle’s diagnostic system. Expedited engine replacement – given the safety risks, I request priority replacement. Investigation into failure cause – GMC should assess whether this is a manufacturing defect. Review of similar cases – if widespread, a recall or service bulletin may be necessary. Better communication – regular updates on repairs and GMC’s actions are needed. I expect prompt action to resolve.

I was driving home from a long trip and heard a large pop. Several warning signs and messages began popping up and the vehicle was shaking and struggling to maintain speed. I was able to get home and get my family out of the vehicle and get it to a dealer down the road. They stated the fuel injector and harness had failed.
Our 2023 GMC Yukon xl denali that has suffered multiple severe mechanical failures well beyond what is reasonable for a vehicle of this class. G at approximately 14,000 miles, the vehicle’s 6. 2l engine catastrophically failed, rendering it inoperable and requiring a full engine replacement. The engine seized and failed while operating the vehicle with her 3 small children on board and nearly caused a catastrophic accident. As a result, the vehicle was out of service for eight weeks, an unreasonable disruption and an unacceptable failure for a luxury SUV of this caliber. Now, (02/11/2025) at just 20,400 miles, the vehicle’s injectors have failed, further reinforcing that this vehicle is defective, unreliable, and unfit for continued ownership. This vehicle was purchased with the expectation of owning a dependable, high-performance SUV—not one plagued with major mechanical failures at such low mileage. The repeated, severe defects have substantially impaired the vehicle’s use, value, and safety, leaving use without reliable transportation for extended periods. Given these circumstances, it is clear that this vehicle does not meet the quality and durability standards expected from general motors’ flagship SUV lineup and present serious risks of catastrophic injuries and/or death.
I’ve inserted the question and their answer: what component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? lifter valve number six failed causing it to shatter and send pieces of it throughout the engine along with other debris into the cylinders. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? vehicle had loud engine knock, pulsation of power, had to pull off on main highways due to loss of power over 400 miles away from home. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, engine was serviced by gm dealership in baldwinsville, NY for over $8,500. Will attach copy of bill. Now is doing same thing, again. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? gm as stated above. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? check engine light flashed, traction control light came on.
Engine check light on, code p0302 cylinder 2 misfire. Loud mortar ticking, car makes abrupt jump/move forward.
Recurring system problems: my vehicle continues to exhibit intermittent system failures, causing unpredictable and potentially dangerous driving conditions. These issues have included: engine stalling, braking issues, electronic system malfunctions].

I bought the vehicle in October 2024 ever since then I have been trouble with the differential, the automatic starter doesn't start the vehicle unless you are at least one feet away from the vehicle. I drove to work when I got off and got in my vehicle my check engine light was on. The vehicle was saying there was an issue with the battery, antilock braking system. I bought an extended warranty up to 150,000, I currently have 63,400 on my vehicle. Empire Buick GMC of white plains has not been honoring my warrantee, I had to rent a car to get back and forth to work because of fear of riding the nyc subway.
My 2021 Yukon denali has roughly 70k miles and this is now the second time that my engine shut off while driving >55mph on the interstate in the past 3 months. The first time, I had the sensation that the car was running out of gas when I went to accelerate. After about 5-10 seconds, the engine turned off, but the electronics stayed on. I coasted to the side of the road and tried multiple times to start it without success. The engine sounded fine while turning over and over, but it would never start. That episode turned out to be a bad fuel pump control module, and after roughly $400 at the local firestone auto repair shop, I was on my way (fyi, they didn't diagnose it; I learned that was the likely problem by reading online forums and basically demanded they replace the fpcm). Now, here I am about 3 months later, and it happened again, just two days after I had the vehicle serviced at the GMC dealership for a check engine light that was intermittently coming on. The technicians said I needed an update to the engine control module which was completed. The main difference was that this time, I had zero warning. There was no sensation of running out of fuel or funny noises from the engine. I just went to give it gas and noticed it wasn't working. There was a warning on the dash saying push button to start the vehicle (once again, the electronics stayed on when the engine shut off). After coasting to the side of the road, the battery seemed to be good, but the engine wouldn't turn over. I had it towed to the shop and am being told I will likely need a new engine!.
My vehicle radiator fan immediately cut on high when I turned on the vehicle. The temperature of the vehicle was normal. I also experienced this when the engine was completely cold. I was assured there was no need to tow the vehicle but I could drive and schedule service with dealer. The software triggered a reduced acceleration condition. This did not allow me to accelerate as needed while navigating an interstate interchange.

I am the owner of a 2021 GMC Yukon denali with the 6. 2l v8 engine (VIN: [xxx] ). This vehicle has exhibited multiple serious issues affecting safety, drivability, and reliability. 1. Engine noise & oil consumption: since purchase, the vehicle has had a persistent loud knocking/tapping sound, especially under acceleration. The engine also consumes an excessive amount of oil between scheduled oil changes, with no visible leaks. I reported this to the dealership multiple times, but since there is no active recall or TSB, they refused to diagnose or repair the issue under warranty. I have since learned that many other 2021 Yukon denali owners with the same 6. 2l engine are experiencing similar issues and some have had repairs or engine replacements covered by gm. I have received no such support. 2. Braking problems: the vehicle has ongoing brake performance issues. Despite replacing the brake components multiple times, the brakes feel inconsistent and unsafe, especially during highway driving or sudden stops. There is vibration and uneven response, and the braking system does not inspire confidence. These problems have persisted despite attempts to correct them. 3. Suspension/handling concerns: the suspension feels unstable and loose, especially at highway speeds or when turning. The ride quality is poor, and there is noticeable sway and body roll, which creates discomfort and concern for vehicle control. 4. Fuel/propulsion system: the engine does not always respond smoothly to throttle input. I’ve noticed occasional hesitation or surging, which may be related to the previously mentioned oil consumption or fuel delivery. Again, the dealership has been unable or unwilling to resolve these issues without charging diagnostic fees. I’ve reported these issues to my local GMC dealer on multiple occasions, but no lasting solution has been provided, and I have not been able to afford expensive diagnostic costs out of pocket—especially for a vehicle of this price information redacted pursuant to the freedom of informatio.
After only 47,000 the Yukon started with hard starts and triggering a check engine light. Owner suggested fuel issues, the dealership suggested a bad wire. They adjust the "bare wire", and mentioned that the fuel pumps on these vehicles have issues and they would order one- but give them a holler when we have additional problems. The Yukon continued to hard start, evolving into stalling when started. The dealership was alerted but due to lack of engine codes being stored the dealership couldn't help us. Eventually when driving 57mph, the Yukon cut engine on a busy route, driver was able to get the Yukon to the shoulder and attempted restart- the Yukon was dead. Aaa attempted to battery jump the Yukon without success. We were without our Yukon for 8 weeks, being placed in random trucks that couldn't support our family size. Upstate chevy of attica was not help in the process. We did contact gm directly and received a case number 9-14907008493. The engine was replaced. The Yukon still doesn't seem to be 100%, with some slow to starts. We are asking for compensation toward another gm full size SUV. We are gm friends and family and have purchased several vehicles over the years. We'd like to trade our SUV now for a new 2025 without engine issues- but since our Yukon was gutted, that is now noted on a carfax which devalues our trade.
After the vehicle was serviced with a fuel injection cleaning and an oil change (by a gm dealership), the vehicle lost about 5 miles per gallon while driving and has not improved since. . I brought the vehicle back to the same dealership and complained. Another fuel injection cleaning was performed, but it did not help. It has been about 3 months and nothing has improved. I use 93 octane, toptier gasoline.
My family and I found ourselves stranded on the interstate when our engine failed while we were driving on I-10 at 75 mph. The connecting rod bearing got lodged in the engine, causing it to seize. This put us in an extremely dangerous situation. I believe these vehicles should be recalled. I've been in discussions with gm to buy back the vehicle, but their leadership has declined my request. They are offering to replace the engine, but I do not want this vehicle back.
Engine work valve intake lifter and camshaft repairs / oil sensor has been going haywire / rear struts keep popping off and after struts repaired bought the truck 05/2024 and had to take to repair 12/2024 and once month ever since.

2018 Yukon safety of family put at risk over faulty transmission. Vehicle used to transport children many times daily. Transmission began slipping with slight lagging. Vehicle assessed by independent service center and we as customers told this is a common issue with GMC vehicles of this year. Service center was able to reproduce and confirm the issue. Total to rebuild entire transmission was $7,377. 33. Total transmission failure. Entire transmission had to be replaced at tremendous expense to our family. Transmission began slipping with slight lagging. Engine rpm's would increase with no additional power or speed.
I bought my 2022 Yukon xl on [xxx]. On Friday [xxx], only a few weeks after having my car in the shop (at the dealer) for running rough, it started to make an odd high-pitched noise and running very rough at higher speeds. I immediately called the dealer and asked how quickly I could bring the car in to be checked. They said they had no availability for over 10 days, and offered me an appointment for then. By the next morning, it seemed to be running better and I didn't have to drive much that day so I hoped it would make it until the appointment. That Sunday [xxx], my husband and I drove the car to a sporting event with our children and it seemed to be ok. On our way home, however, just after crossing a long causeway over the bay, the car's motor just stopped working in the middle of driving on [xxx] in miami. We were in the left lane and had to try to change multiple lanes while coasting only, and were only able to get off the traffic lanes because there happened to be a side street that came up quickly enough to turn onto before the car came to a stop. It was completely unexpected and without warning, and had we been on the interstate or even the causeway we had just come off of, it could've easily caused an accident with my whole family in the car. Once stopped, it wouldn't crank or even try to turn over, no matter what we tried. It took 2 tow trucks because we couldn't even change/move gears enough to put it in neutral, so couldn't use the flat bed that arrived first. We were stuck for hours in a less than desirable area of town. The dealer took a week to look the car over, then said the engine had seized up and would need to be replaced. The engine was on back order and it took over 6 weeks for the replacement. After replacement, 2 separate issues arose over the following 2 weeks, each the result of a component not being properly tightened during the engine replacement by dealer service technicians. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
On 9/23/2024, I was driving my 2021 GMC Yukon denali down the road, when the engine seemed to lose power, and the accelerator no longer worked. There were no indications of any errors or alarms on the dash, and all functions on the interior of the cabin showed as normal. The vehicle switched into neutral, and the engine shut off and I was unable to control or accelerate. This is a extremely serious situation and extremely dangerous in terms of safety.
Gas line leak.
While driving at 60 mpg on a major highway vehicle began decelerating itself and eventually stalled. Driver was able to pull to the side of the road in a turning lane. Private mechanic found code that fuel pump control module failed. After the failure vehicle could not be put into neutral and had to be towed back to residence by a tow truck. Check engine warning light did not appear until vehicle stalled.
There are several incidents reported regarding ongoing assessment with GMC interplay activity I have noticed this have become a dangerous drive ability inside acceleration controls governor sets whiling driving engine play transmission shifts this have gone beyond everyday practices during drive times this have been very noticeable during anyone time rpm gauges constantly disrupted radio functions remote controls are at play many problems are being serious illegal assessed during drive compulsive fuel guagement. I have been placed at dangerous risk by interplay noticability. Now slight tick sounds after full services sparkplug and wire as tuneup oil changes fuel services and coolant same recurring problems continued after serviced alignment services. Controls are very strong.
Numerous difficulties have arisen during the process of driving on multiple occasions. The tablet/radio continues to reset, and the traction control sensor light continues to illuminate. I have communicated with the GMC service center on several occasions, and each time, no issues were found. During an oil change at another dealership, no service recommendations were mentioned, yet a list of offset services was listed on mopar. As I continued to drive, I noticed that the speed controls were limiting speeds, necessitating self-serviced accelerated drives. This has been ongoing for some time while driving and has required ongoing fuel adjustments. I have received tune-up services, coolant services, fuel services, wheel balancing, and several alignments, which have recently caused significant inconvenience. Routine maintenance has been performed, and the rpm gauge remains constant during operation. Make a unsafe drive.
1. Fuel pump control mod 2. My car gave me only a second warning before it shut down entirely. I was somehow able to get to the side of the road. No car going to the car 3. It was replaced at an independent service station. They called GMC dealership for assistance on diagnosis. Dealership said this is happening 4. No warning lights at all. No car trouble at all. Car is fully up to date on maintenance this is only a 2021 car with such low mileage you expect to a car to run properly if well maintained. I called the GMC dealership and spoke to the service manager and he just said that these things happen. Cars are complicated these days. I found that unacceptable since I could have been killed if someone was directly behind me and I could not get to safety. I spent $416 to get towed from a NJ towing company since aaa is not allowed to tow me on the garden state parkway. . I spent $165 to get to philadelphia to catch my flight since I did not have a car. I hope that this major shutdown of this car can be addressed and the answer is not just that cars are complicated these days. Thank you.
