38 Suspension problem of the 2022 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 03/21/2022

Vehicle has been in for repair on (4) separate occasions for the same issue. Without warning, several error messages will pop up indicating problems with power steering, suspension, air bags, etc. In all there are 7 or 8 different error messages that all appear at once, but as soon as they do appear the power steering stops working. This has happened both from a cold start and while driving. In total the vehicle has lost power steering on 12-15 separate occasions. The service department at the dealership has had a hard time diagnosing the problem, but recently said that a faulty serial gateway module was to blame. After waiting 1. 5 months for a replacement part, I was told that the repair had been made and the vehicle was ready for pick up. Within 5 minutes of leaving the dealership the power steering failed again while driving, forcing me off to the side of a busy road. The same 7-8 error messages appeared on the screen.

39 Suspension problem of the 2021 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 03/10/2022

My blind spot warning light and signal doesnt work all the time. For example, if a pass a car, or a car passes me at a speed of more than 5 miles per hour, there is no notification from the blind spot warning light in the mirror, or an audalble signale either. I have taken the car to the GMC dealership 3 times and I was told that is normal, and nothing is wrong. I own other GMC models and I have never experianced this intermitant issue.

42 Suspension problem of the 2017 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 11/02/2021

I purchased a 2017 GMC Yukon denali brand new off the showroom floor. I have maintained the services thru GMC dealership. I had to replace the struts and rear and front shocks due to hydraulic system leaking and locking up my brakes and causing extra pressure on my braking system to stop my vehicle. This cost me over $5000 to replace out of my pocket and I saw there was a previous recall in 2019 for similar problem but I was told my issues were not covered under the recall. I have also had to replace both taillights within 2years of purchasing my brand new vehicle and now they are out again. This will be my second time having to replace the led tail lights that cost over $375 light which were stated as never go out of lifetime guarantee. You cannot just replace the bulb you have to replace the whole tail light which takes weeks to come in and then additional labor costs. The previous.

43 Suspension problem of the 2019 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 10/14/2021

Front strut assemblies (both left and right side) were found to be leaking during annual state safety inspection. Before the inspection determined the cause, the handling of the vehicle had noticeable deteriorated were the vehicle was bouncing excessively while driving and compromising the vehicle's handling and steering. Contacted two dealers, who stated this is a common problem on 2019 and newer Yukons. The gm parts warehouse had over 1900 replacement struts in stock! per the dealer, the struct was a new design in 2019 and is electronically controlled. No warning lamps or messages were displayed. The original structs were stamped mfg in mexico, the gm replacements are stamped manufactured in poland.

44 Suspension problem of the 2016 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 06/02/2021

The contact called on behalf of his client who owns a 2016 GMC Yukon. The contact stated while the owner was driving 30 mph, the vehicle became unstable and began bouncing. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The driver was able to drive to his independent mechanic, where it was digioanoed with needing the suspension struts to be replaced. The contact called the local dealer and was informed the parts were not available. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The contact also called champion Chevrolet (800 kietzke ln, reno, nv 89502: (775) 786-3111) and made them aware of the failure and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 84,116.

45 Suspension problem of the 2017 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 05/17/2021

The contact owns a 2017 GMC Yukon denali. The contact stated that while driving over a bump in the road at various speeds, the vehicle became air borne. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and informed him that the struts failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the parts being on back order. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

46 Suspension problem of the 2017 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 04/28/2021

There is a known issue with the GMC strutts leaking. I contacted several GMC dealerships to purchase strutts so that a local mechanic could put fix my truck without the dealership pricing. GMC refuses to sell the parts to anyone other than a dealership. I was informed by several dealerships the part is a national back order for 6 months. The cost that gm is making for each person that purchased a 2017 denali is between two to four thousand dollars!! while driving my truck myself and my daughter would come out of the seat! this should be a recall. I'm also reporting this to the consumer financial protection bureau. I phoned this in a month ago and have heard nothing.

47 Suspension problem of the 2018 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 04/24/2021

Both struts went out on the car at once. When we went to the dealer, we were told that there were no struts in the country, and they have no idea when they will be available. When we called back this week to check on the progress, there is no progress at all. We have had to rent a vehicle, which we did for a month's time not knowing how long this may go on.

48 Suspension problem of the 2018 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 04/02/2021

Rear shock is leaking and ride is rough (bottoming out) can't find new shocks.

49 Suspension problem of the 2018 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 03/26/2021

My vehicle has just over 55,000 miles on it and the right front shock is leaking. Not very many miles to be in need of a new shock on the most expensive suspension system gm makes.

50 Suspension problem of the 2021 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 01/06/2021

Vehicle has been at the dealer with gm involvement starting January 6th and it has been out of the repair facility for less than 2 weeks up to today, 4/1/2021. The vehicle has an adaptive suspension system that has not only failed, but has continued to fail after multiple repair attempts. There seems to be an issue with this new adaptive suspension, specifically when the vehicle access option is toggled in the settings. This has caused multiple safety warnings; vehicle too high, drive slowly vehicle unsafe and vehicle too low, drive slowly, vehicle unsafe. Dealer and gm have replaces millie parts, software and sensors, to no avail. The major concern is that most owners don't realize the risk and this is a flaw in the design which could lead to accidents. My vehicle had to be towed in at the last resurgence because it was not in as state to be driven. The suspension collapsed after having 35 days in the shop. It seems that the software and the system aren't properly functioning/designed. This could be endemic in every denali, or other gm vehicle with this system, that enables the automotive access (vehicle lowers when in park). This issue occurred while parked and while driving, both locally and highway. The scariest was when I was driving to the dealer and the suspension started bouncing causing me to go no more than 40mph on the interstate to the dealer.

51 Suspension problem of the 2021 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 11/04/2020

We were coming back from a trip with my children and this vehicle was barely 2 weeks old with 0 miles and we were on a highway when all the emergency lights on the dash went off. It was flagging the electrical system, the engine, the brakes. Honestly all the lights possible went off. The vehicle was lagging and it felt force when we pushed on the gas. Our hands were gripping the steering wheel to keep it in lane till we could get off.

52 Suspension problem of the 2018 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 11/02/2020

Car is not performing as it should.

53 Suspension problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 10/30/2020

At 38,000 (2018) this vehicle required a front left and rear right shock replacement due to locking up. At 61,000 miles both rear shocks locked again. This time not repaired under warranty and costing $1500 to fix. GMC care offered me $100 service voucher and no assistance on their faulty products. The GMC dealer offered me a $1500 coupon good for my next purchase or possibly $1500 toward when my front shocks have issues. What??? the $1500 coupon is good for 1 year toward the purchase of a new GMC. Everyone needs to call GMC care to complain. 1-866-790-5600 so we get reimbursed for an obvious recallable item. No vehicle less then 5 years old should need shocks replaced twice. This is my third GMC Yukon denali and my last due to GMC not working with me. Does anyone think a vehicles shocks should need to be replace twice in a 5 year life??.

54 Suspension problem of the 2016 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 09/10/2020

The contact owns a 2016 GMC Yukon. The contact stated while driving at various speeds the vehicle would shake and vibrate. The cause of the failure was not determined. Also the driver and passenger side retractable running boards would erroneously retract back and forth while driving and on several occasions while attempting to exit the vehicle the running board remained retracted causing the driver to fall to the ground and causing injuries to the drivers legs. The cause of the failures were not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 60,000.

55 Suspension problem of the 2017 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 09/01/2020

Front magnetic shocks quickly failed, part no. Sk3354. Part has been on backorder for over a month, which means it is failing on many vehicles. Part is known by repair shops to be defective, but they say the replacement part lasts longer. Gm should pay something toward replacing this defective part, which is on many of their vehicles. Failure of this part causes vehicle to bounce excessively which makes the vehicle more difficult to control.

56 Suspension problem of the 2016 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 08/18/2020

Vehicle shakes and has a rough ride.

57 Suspension problem of the 2007 GMC Yukon

My 2017 GMC Yukon denali continues to have a very loud shudder sound as you accelerate.

59 Suspension problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 06/01/2020

Magnetic ride control issue possibly. While traveling down road, highway or side street, vehicle rides extremely rough and bounces.

60 Suspension problem of the 2003 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 04/07/2020

When I turn out of a parking spot it clicks and pops replaced ball joints shocks tie rods everything it won't go away and it does it when I pull into a parking spot.

61 Suspension problem of the 2007 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 03/04/2020

Two cracks on front dashboard at approximately 7 years. A mechanic had to remove the dash for a repair and the small existing crack grew into a jagged ten inch crack up onto the dash cowling.

62 Suspension problem of the 2016 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 03/01/2020

I asked my mechanic to check the rough ride on my truck when he serviced the vehicle. He said the front struts were locking up and I should take it to my dealer. My dealer said they were locked up and needed to be replaced. The dealer will replace the struts for approx. $2000. They say they haven't had problems with them but they have them in stock and they offer a lifetime warranty. The truck has virtually no front suspension and when checking different blogs on line there appear to be a lot of problems with the struts locking up. When driving down the road, the ride is as if there was no suspension. Truck has 52,000 miles and I've never replaced shocks (or struts) with that kind of mileage. It seems to get worse by the day. I think gm has a definite problem with the struts and I think it's dangerous without suspension movement.

63 Suspension problem of the 2018 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 01/02/2020

Been since day pne over payment random call wrong size tires insurance claim that they sent to fix and clued the piece and a refurbished part pint chipped when I took it for maintenance they do other nonsense very disappointed in the amount paid with ddownpaimt showing no payment on credit report about to hire a lawyer I want a new truck for all the money and time spend overtime or fix it dnd I don't like a new car to have a recall I have kids.

64 Suspension problem of the 2017 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 11/23/2019

Brake failure after recall was done brakes still fail was driving and was braking the pedal went in all the way and the Yukon xl denali did not stop also have bad fuel injectors took it to the dealership and they dont know what fuel injectors go on the SUV also gm doesnt know they have to take apart the engine to find out what fuel injectors they put on the engine they wont give me a car rental and does not all the fuel injectors are on back order there is 3. Types high pressure low pressure and they dont know the fuel injector that was used I paid over 90,000 with taxes and interest on this 2017 Yukon xl denali and they have replaced 3 shocks, brake vacuum pump, brake and rotors they had to repaint the feont bumper rear bumper hood and back door and now the fuel injectors with only 37,500 miles this SUV is a junk and now I believe all gm cars are now junk.

65 Suspension problem of the 2011 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 11/13/2019

Dashboard is cracking and will possibly cut airbag or driver in a crash. Plastic is brittle and could shatter. Suspension has poor dampening. Truck was repaired several times by dealer only to fail soon after repairs. Truck bounces over sharp bumps and becomes dangerous at highway speeds. Transmission shudders and shakes.

66 Suspension problem of the 2003 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 10/01/2019

Concerned about the service notice on my dic with the auto ride suspension system. P0660 code detection. No indication of what the condition of the system is inoperable and if the vehicle is in a safe mode until repairs or replacement of parts are made. Currently the vehicle has locked the air ride suspension to which the compressor will not activate. Shocks are in a maintained pressure to which the vehicle is operated in a firm pressure making a solid ride as if the vehicle would be if in tow mode. Not sure if the characteristics of the handling are effective.

67 Suspension problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 09/02/2019

My 2015 Yukon denali had a complete suspension failure on all four tires at 67,535 miles. I was told this was way too soon to be having suspension problems on this, but when diagnosed, that was the issue. I was told by my auto repair shop that it was unsafe to drive in that condition, as the steering could fail to work correctly when going through tight turns and braking. They said that it could possibly skid due to not having any shocks or struts functioning. When the vehicle was lifted, the wheels did not lower from the carriage at all due to complete failure of the suspension system. We replaced the rear shocks and front struts to address this issue. This problem did not occur all at once, but rather over a period of a couple weeks when the vehicle started to ride rougher on each tire. All four went out within a span of two weeks time.

68 Suspension problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 09/01/2019

About 2 weeks ago the vehicle had an excellent ride, then all of a sudden it had no suspension at all. It rides extremely rough and I would say very unsafe to operate.

69 Suspension problem of the 2016 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 08/13/2019

Vehicle shakes/vibrates above 35 mph. When vehicle accelerates above 35 mph the the steering will vibrate with a feeling that the suspension is shimmying/shuddering rapidly. This is especially bad on an incline from a stopped position. As the vehicle accelerates up the incline, when approximately 35 mph is attained, the entire vehicle will steadily shudder/vibrate. Traveling at highway speeds the vehicle will randomly vibrate in the front end and in the steering wheel. This occurs with brand new tires that have been balanced and re-balanced to confirm it is not tire related.

70 Suspension problem of the 2017 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 08/03/2019
