1 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 08/07/2020

Took my certified pre-owned 2015 Yukon xl into dealer while still under warranty with intermittent failure in both tail lamps (the red part for brake and tail lamp function goes out; turn signal still works). Condition was not noted on my service ticket since the tail lamps was working fine at the time. Warranty expired, passenger tail lamp went out completely and both dealer and a call to GMC told me that they wouldn't assist in spite of my attempt to address while under warranty. Needed tail lamp to pass state inspection and return my wife and four kids safely to the road, so I had to pay. As I walked out of the dealership to retrieve my vehicle after the $400 passenger tail lamp replacement, I found the driver side tail lamp to be inoperable, even though it had just passed the state inspection 20 min prior. I showed the service advisor and spoke to service manager. They both agreed that the tail lamp issue is wide-spread, unsafe, and a major quality issue, but they were bound by GMC policies. Yes, GMC extended the warranty for these tail lamps, but I bought my vehicle as preowned certified with 68k miles. Special part warranty went to 70k and my certified warranty went to 80k. I did my part and took the vehicle in as soon as the problem arose, yet here I am holding an $800 bag of broken tail lamps. Horrendous quality issue that is a major safety issue for these vehicles. It is time to issue the recall!!!.

2 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 05/09/2020

The brake light is not working. All other functions in the assembly are fine. Reverse and turn signal, no brake indication. It does not activate a warning on the dash for the brake light failure. This happens 24/7. . . This should not occur with an item priced at over $700. 00 to replace.

3 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 01/17/2020

Front led turn signal (which should last for ever) is malfunctioning and despite purchasing an extended warranty this is not covered by the warranty company or gm. Quoted nearly $1,700 to have a turn functioning turn signal again. The whole light assembly needs replaced. This was a $60k+ vehicle!?!?!?!?!?.

4 Turn Signal problem of the 2016 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 07/30/2019

Brake light/turn signal fail with no warning to driver. The failure requires replacement of the entire component. Dealer quoted $826 to replace assembly. I understand that these have a very high failure rate. Along with the lack of warning to the driver that their rear brake lights and turn signals are not working this is serious problem. The failure rate is so high that several independents are repairing them.

5 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 07/09/2019

My passenger side brake light went out a few months ago. Turn signal works. Now my driver side brake light is out. Turn signal does work. To get both fixed, I have to have the entire unit replaced which is quite expensive. I already replaced the front passenger unit due to the running light going out 2 years ago. Brake lights, are necessary for safety which is a problem. These led lights are supposed to have a longer functionality. And they cannot be replaced easily or cost-effectively.

6 Turn Signal problem of the 2017 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 06/05/2019

The rear passenger light assembly has failed. No lights within the housing are currently working. The unsafe condition exists when the vehicle is in motion, as it has no running lights, brake lights or turn signals. This appears to be a very common problem for Yukon's of this year, which are still fairly new.

7 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 04/16/2019

The driver's side brake light has stopped working. Upon further investigation it was determined that the led circuit board was broken. A web search indicates that this is a common problem with this vehicle as the circuit board is cheaply made. The brake light cannot be simply replaced. The entire rear light component (brake light, running lights, turn signal) needs to be replaced to repair this. The cost to replace is ~$500. This part should be recalled and replaced with a led light board that is stronger and lasts longer than 4 years.

8 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 03/20/2019

Turn signal failure on the passenger side. Cause by condensation in the headlamp assembly. Cost $1300 to replace and get a new turn signal. A turn signal is $5, but then integrated leds cost $1300 because they have to replace the whole assembly.

9 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 01/01/2019

I have replaced the passenger side tailight and now the driver side tailight is not working. The turn signal and reverse light work but the red part of the light will work and then go out.

10 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 10/13/2018

Driver side left brake light led poor quality, failed. Turn signal works, brake light doesnt. Leds are supposed to last longer than incandescent bulbs (and at the expensive price of $500+ to fix this each time it goes out people will be less apt to fix), but this is apparently a widespread problem from looking into it. There was no catalyst that set the problem off, just failed on its own.

11 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 04/01/2018

Both passenger and drivers side brake lamps, turn signals and running lamps short out and stop working. When vehicle is under warranty, lamps are replaced with new units, that are also faulty and eventually fail, in anywhere from 1 week to 1 year. Gm is well aware of this widespread, nationwide problem, yet refuses to issue a recall, and charges $1500+ the replace the units with new oem, that are still faulty.

12 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 02/15/2018

Rear led (break light) does not work turn signal, backup works. Cost is over $500 to replace this is outrageous extended warranty does not cover light bulbs now I know why this should be a factory defect.

13 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 12/25/2017

Drivers and passenger brake light go out intermittently. Passenger stays off for long periods of time. Looked into replacing no idea if it will fix the problem. Cost at least $500. Each parts only. I have seen so many other vehicles like mine same problem. Headlights also going out, water inside of cover. Led and turn signal went out on drivers side replaced for a cost of $900. 00, (just for the headlight) again no guarantee it will keep working. Also battery went dead replaced battery. New battery also went dead. Car alarm went off the night before battery dead in the morning. Has been in the shop 3 weeks now. Same thing happens alarm goes off kills battery. Shows massive drain and set about 32 codes. The drain doesn't register after that. Recharge battery car is not running when this happens. Problem repeats every time after charging the battery. Something in the wiring is shorting out. Tested both batteries they both test good. Afraid of what will happen next with the electrical on the vehicle. Not sure if the lights have anything to do with this or not. When ordering headlight and asking about brakes told by dealer parts they sure are selling a bunch of these. I have had people driving down the road stop me to tell me my brake light is out. I did not know that the turn signal on the front was not working until a car pulled out in front of me while waiting to make a left turn. I got out and looked at the light and it was not working. I cannot drive the vehicle at all because it keeps draining the battery. I have a ase certified master technician working on the vehicle in a reputable shop.

14 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 08/10/2017

Water/condensation in headlamp, no indication of cracks, turn signal and portion of headlight is now malfunctioning. This is a constant problem.

15 Turn Signal problem of the 2015 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 10/07/2015

I would like to resort how hard it is to tell if these vehicles are turning or braking due to the "brake-light-turn-signal combination" where the brake light goes off when the turn signal is on.

16 Turn Signal problem of the 2004 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 04/10/2008

The driver wishing to signal a turn by moving the directional signal lever, (up or down) may cause the front marker/turn lights and rear turn lights to flash in a manner similar to hazard warning, rather than flashing on the desired side only. Same as NHTSA campaign number: 05v198000 why wasn't Yukon included in this recall?.
