I am having issues with my transmission. My gears get stuck between 2nd and 3rd gear while driving. It loses power and I have to switch to neutral and put it back in drive in order for it to become unstuck. I have taken it to Honda, and they told me it was the computer, and several other things. They replaced $2000 worth of parts and the problem still happens. I took it back to Honda and they told me I needed a new transmission after they took $2000 from me. This initially started approximately 5 months ago when my engine light came on.
The engine rattles loudly for about 3 seconds on could start-up. The componet that is failing is the vtc actuator. This problem is casuing the engine light to go on. Also, I found out that the vtc actuator on Honda Accord is a common failure. This is not a coincidence, it is a manufacture defect. In addition, it is putting my life in danger while it may cause engine failure. The vtc actuator rattles have been confirmed by independent mechanic.

At cold start up car rattles loudly for a few seconds, I pin pointed this to the vvt actuator. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
Have to top off engine oil every week. Discovered problem last year when oil was almost drained out and fear it will destroy the engine if not addressed.

takata recall I had gotten into an collision involving a deer on 10/26/2016. I was going approximately 60 mph when I struck this roughly 110 pound deer. The impact was on my front bumper on the passenger side of my car. When I took it to get repaired I had no other choice but to go with my insurance's geico express facility since all the shops were full from hail damage vehicles. In the estimate and on the repair order I received from geico and amm collision. My vehicle never had the work done to the structure untill 2 months ago. It stated that there were 3 structural components that were worked on. The right rail assembly 4 hours or repair time 60810ta5a00zz (where front and rear panels connect, heavy buckle), the left inner panel 3. 6 hours repair time 04695ta0a00zz(rolled with putter panel, includes time for brackets at the top of frame), and the right front panel (crushed, cost effective to replace)60659ta5a50zz. My vehicle was in the shop for only 2 business days but some how put 41 hours worth of labor into my car. I had gotten into another hit and run on 9/20/17 where my side airbags didn't deploy. I took it back to amm collision where geico tried to total out my vehicle, falsify paperwork by taking off componants(transmission), undervalue then retain my vehicle. When I dropped my vehicle off back with amm collision I had taken pictures of patches of rust on structure componants and broken tack welds. Still today I have broken welds in my car. But the major concern was geico and amm collision trying to hide the fact that they didn't do the repairs to my frame for a whole year. And when I requested the photos of the repairs and measurements from the body alignment machine from the shop, I had the police called on me and I have a felony criminal trespassing warning at amm collision for asking for paperwork that they cannot provide.
I had my car for a year since 8/13/2016 now my car is knocking ticking and when I accelerate it's loud in the morning I got all my oil changes transmission flush and engine flush I need help what's going on I went to get a diagnostics test yesterday (8/25/17) now my engine light is blinking on my dashboard plus the tpms light and also vsa indicator with the triangle with the exclamation mark in it I turned the car on this morning drove it to the store it cut off on me help it only let me go up to 25 mph.

Defective vtc actuaftor. Honda & dealer knew by 2011 that the part was defective and defectively designed, and should have recalled it. Now, in spite of being "out of warranty," they should replace or reimburse. I did replace and am seeking reimbursement, so far denied.
The vtc actuator needed to be replaced. The mechanic explained that it was not merely defective, but was a design defect, for which there had been recalls for other/later models years. I confirmed this with a google search. I was told that, were the part not replaced, the damage could be catastrophic. Cost - over $600. I complained to Honda of America, and sought reimbursement. They denied it, saying it was out of warranty. Car has about 88,000 miles and warranty was for 5 years and 30,000 miles. However, Honda of America representative said he would sue Honda if it were him. I should receive reimbursement, and there should be recall on this part.
From reading online, it appears I'm one of many who have a vtc actuator issue. Honda service people never know what I'm talking about even though it's in a bulletin 09-010 from Honda. Engine has loud cough sound upon starting the car, after being off for 6 hours or so. This should be part of a recall & customers shouldn't be charged for this but that's obviously what they want to do to us.
3. 5 v-6 engine rattling loudly.
Engine seized. . . . Mechanic found no oil in engine. . . . Oil life still showed 40%. . . . No other warnings regarding low oil.
I have a 2008 Honda Accord ex-l which I bought new with 153000 miles. It started using oil several months ago. After my last oil change I checked the oil at about 1000 miles and it was over 2 quarts low which I replaced and checked it again after about 600 miles and found it to be over a quart low. I have the oil & filter changed ever 5000 miles and this should not be happening.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. While driving 65 mph, the engine began to rev excessively and the vehicle jerked. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the cam shaft position sensor failed due to the timing chain being defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000.
Vtc actuator makes loud rattle with almost every start. It is an engine problem on 2007 to 2012 Honda crv as well as 2008 to 2012 Accords. If this part fails, the engine will seize up and could cause the driver to lose control. Honda has verified the problem but since the vehicle is out of warranty at 75000 miles, they refuse to remedy the problem. Given case number 04825102 and contacted product concerns department but still refused to address problem. Vehicle has service notice 09010. Honda tech confirmed they have had may problems and even had to get a replacement part for their replacement part. This needs to be dealt with by Honda, but they are not taking any responsibility.
Car rattles from cold starts. Honda dealership notified but cannot replicate, because it was driven there. Took Honda many years to release a service bulletin, but what about us that are out of your warranty? called Honda customer service, and even though the bulletin reads all 2008 Accords, they keep repeating VIN specific. Case #05211326. Honda step up and fix your mistakes. The date is incorrect, it has been going on for a while, did not save the date.
Vsa/brake/check engine/and abs light.
Takata recall, I took my car to the Honda dealer on April 18,2016 because of noise. They indentified the vtc actuator as the problem and started that it is not covered under warranty. My Honda Accord has 37,000 miles on it. There are many complaints for this issue, starting several years back. Please force a recall. Thank you! picture sent from Honda, gold part broken, silver was replaced.
