Received a takata inflator recall on my front passenger airbag which was fixed by the dealership. My air bag light started to come on (while vehicle is parked or in motion) after the repair. This has been ongoing for several months. A diagnostic test is reading error code 92-20 where the front passenger side airbag will go off during an accident whether or not a passenger is in the vehicle.
Airbag inflator recall. Received urgent safety recall notice from state of michigan regarding airbag inflator recall.
S10 appropriate handling - copy of a letter to american Honda motor company regarding the national takata airbag inflator recall. The consumer requested to be reimbursed for the airbag recall repair.
Srs unit failed after recall completed of the inflator recall. Honda does have a 15 year extended warranty on this part, but would not apply it since the technician was not able to read the error codes. Inflator was replaced around February, srs light came on in may and repairs was completed on 7/11/17 at my expense.
Hello, neither the NHTSA recall website nor Honda's website indicates there is a recall for the airbag ignitor on my vehicle, yet the dealership mailed/called me about an airbag safety recall. When I questioned them, they were able to show that they verified the recall applies to my vehicle. My question/concern: why would the dealer have access to safety information that is hidden from the public? I've been driving around with a critical safety defect with a false sense of safety. "takata recall" american Honda failed to notify me when the passenger side airbag inflator replacement part became available. I did not know the part was available until I called the local Honda dealer after reading articles in the paper that the parts were available. Honda said in the article that they had sent letters and blamed car owners for being slow to respond when in fact this is not true. Please require Honda to notify owners immediately that parts are available so that other owners are not continued to be placed at risk. Thank you.
Takata inflators recall letter dated July 2016. Was told I would be contacted by fall 2016 and to avoid having anyone in my passanger side until repairs are completed. No one has contacted me its been over 6 months & from what I understand both front air bags need to be replaced due to recall.
I took my 2009 Honda Accord to the dealership to complain that the warning light would come on indicating the passenger side airbags were off. The dealership told me that an object or passenger in the seat would affect this indicator. I advised them that nothing would be in the seat when the light would intermittenly light up. After much effort the dealership replaced the seat back senor in January 2014. The problem subsided temporarily. Today the dashboard indicator constantly turns on and off while I am driving regardless whether anyone or anything is in the passenger seat. If the indicator is correctly monitoring my passenger airbags, then I am driving my car 70 % of the time without the benefit of passenger side airbags never knowing if they will deploy properly, which is outrageous. I contacted american Honda and despite living in a recall "humidity zone" (miami, florida) my Honda was not included in their limited recall of defective passenger airbag inflators. I think this is absurd and the NHTSA needs to force american Honda to include newer Honda's on their recall list for defective airbags.
