general problems of the 2017 Honda Accord - part 2

Very loud static noise coming from the speakers, it is very distracting while driving and very annoying.

Computer sensor, fuel pump, starter the car stalls while cranking and stalls while driving like it wants to shut off. The car wont go over 60 miles without skipping the engine and when the car stops the engine cuts off.

I had noticed a couple of weeks ago that I would try and start the car and it was struggling to start. Two weeks ago I tried to turn on my car and it would not start. I had to jump start it. I went out to run errands. I tried turning the car on again and it would not start. Once again I had to jump start it. Thinking it was the battery, I took it to o'reilly's since it was still under warranty. The battery was good. They told me to take the car to run a scan. The scan showed no issues with the car. I googled what was happening to my car and I saw it's a common issue with these cars. Since the time I bought the car, I have already had to replace the battery 4 times which is odd because batteries last about 3 years and they are only lasting 1. 5 years. As of today, it has been turning on but I can still hear it struggling to turn on.

Carplay freezes or disconnects randomly when in use. Will be driving with navigation is frozen so would be driving past destination and cause a distraction trying to fix it. Or it will randomly disconnect when in use and will keep my eyes of road trying to connect it again or hold my phone while navigating. Honda states there is no update to the system to resolve it or anything they can do, directs people to phone company regarding their system. Phone company states they cant do anything about it. Have read multiple forums with others complaining and no solution.

2017 Honda Accord ex-l 4 door sedan 4 cylinder 2. 4l while driving my car I noticed shaking then my car dropped down to 10mph on the highway. When I pressed the pedal to speed up my car started jerking and did not go any faster. All the lights came on my dashboard including abs. Me and my child safety was at risk because I was doing 10mph on a 45mph highway. We could have been hit. I took my car to the dealer they told me I'm not the only one having this problem with the abs module and the part is on back order. So that mean there is a defect in the part that's why they cant get everybody need it. I brought it to the dealer they told me its nothing they can do. Not even test the part. I had a message about vehicle stability. Maybe about 2months ago.

Vehicle abs malfunctioning making some dashboard lights come on. A bunch of random codes in the readers makes it hard to identify the issue. Codes are not specific and a bunch of other components need to be tested/replaced before realizing the actual main issue causing the owner spend a ridiculous amount of money and time. Only dissappear if abs module is replaced which is hard to find(up to two years of wait) unless bought used which also comes with the same risk of failing prematurely. This problem messes up with the vehicle traction in raw weather conditions, as well as braking, steering, and overall safety of the occupants.

2017 Honda Accord ex-l infotainment system (radio) when using am/fm/xm starts to static badly and slowly drives to full crackling/static interference noise through all speakers in the system. Power on and power off do not change symptoms, only pull over and power car on and off. Cannot hear surrounding vehicles when driving, even with windows down. Difficult to concentrate and drive safely with the radio a maximum volume with static interference. I can supply numerous videos of me screaming over the noise while a passenger takes video of this interference. Please provide a method for me to supply video of this issue to fully understand how unsafe this can be to any driver including myself. There was no warning light or engine trouble lights. The problem is repeatable and my 45minute daily commute. I have had no accidents or damage that would result in this type of failure. Failure mode - unknown.

Abs module failed. Abs pump failed. Wheels locked on highway almost lost control.

Backup camera not displaying on display screen when in reverse. Impedes safety because I cannot accurately reverse due to the trunk size. Cannot see any incoming cars when I am in reverse.

About 3 months ago, the emergency brake light, traction control light, abs light and power steering light started coming off and on, they now stay on all the time. I took and had it checked, code 121-11 for the vsa solenoid valve malfunction. Had it checked for a program update I was told that there wasn't an update and the part to fix it has been on backorder from Honda for at least two years. (I notified Honda about this) I have a very strange sound when applying the brakes on a cold start and I can also feel a jerk in the brake pedal. Also noticed that oil is leaking around the engine cover and was told that it is a manufacturing issue with Honda. The cover is plastic and over the years, the plastic shrinks and causes a small oil leak. Replacing the cover and gasket would fix this.

Infotainment system crashes/reboots while operating apple carplay. Causing maps, music, and other functionality to be unresponsive. Some think it’s because of the cpu overheating inside the unit. It is available for inspection. This causes the driver to take their eyes off the road due to an unusual occurrence in the vehicle. Problem is hard to replicate. Happens randomly. Problem has not been inspected. Problem happens without warning and occurs in all conditions of driving/infotainment use. Problem first appeared after 3 months of ownership (January 2021).

I received an indication on my dash that there was an issue with the srs system. I took the vehicle to a certified Honda dealership for diagnostic treatment and it was determined that the wires on the passenger seat had been rubbing on the track that the seat slides on and consequently tore the srs wires near the passenger seat belt causing a failure in the restraint system.

I had the radio replaced under warranty but the problem was never solved and only gave a 90day warranty on a refurbished unit. I complained about the refurbished unit and they refused to put a new unit under the waranty. Honda has known about the radio issue creating a very loud static pulsating noise thats unbearable and distracting while driving causing distraction and you would not even be able to hear an emergency vehicle or anything near you while this noise is pulsating at a very high decibels. This problem is all over the internet with people having issues with the very loud noise being distracting and unbearable. Seems this only happens on the hybrid touring model. There is a serious problem with this being a safety issue being very distracting and unbearable. I also get a noise warning exceeding the normal decibels required. I believe the radio is over heating and also might cause a fire in the dash.

My issues started when I was driving right heahlight went out, after replacing the headlight bulb my car strated to have issues starting. One time you could turn it on and next time it will try to turn but light started to blick on the dash board. I tested battery twice with o'riley and Honda and had 100%. Battery pc was replace and car was working fine for a few days. When I was going to work I notice ride side led light was off half way and when I turn the car did notice right bulb was out and I had replace one side already. When I try to fix the bulb is did turn onas it seem that is was loose but then car turn off. After this incident battery was drain. This is just starting and might get to a stalling vehilce in the middle of the highway since it does seem it has electrical problems.

I was driving my vehicle and it began displaying messages that my collision mitigation system, road departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control system, and lane keep assist system all have problems. Simultaneously, my backup camera has ceased working. This is causing my vehicle to randomly lurch forward without being propelled by me, which is extremely dangerous! all of these issues/codes began at the exact same time and it seems this is a widespread problem with Honda Accords manufactured around this year based on prior reports on this site, recalls to subsequent models, and other information publicly available on the internet. When will we get the same recall that has been offered to other models? my vehicle only has 58,000 miles and change on it. There's no reason for it to be functioning in this manner other than its defective manufacturing.

Road departure mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane keep assist problem, collision mitigation system problem - lights all started to turn on in 2017 Honda Accord touring. Took the car to the dealer. Was told that the entire srs system has failed. The car was bought in 2017 brand new from the dealer and has never been in a car accident. Unclear why a five year old car is already having electrical system failure. Car won’t pass inspection and this is a $1000 repair.

This is a dangerous problem and I expect Honda to have a major recall some day, unfortunately not today. Symptoms were two things, 1) acc when on would not slow down with another car in front, it just kept accelerating into the car until I put on the brakes. Crazy dangerous. 2) the collision warning light would come on and beep loudly when there was no possibility of collision. Required replacing the radar unit, $5000 at the dealer. Dealer tech said that this unit is connected to every control system, brakes, steering, etc. Very dangerous to drive without a correctly functioning radar. If I could, I would just turn those features off, but there is no way to do that. Besides, I like those features. Car is 5 years old; my last payment is in August!.

Issue with charging system (b3 check charging system). Honda dealer ran full diagnostic test and inspection. Changed battery. Alternator, starter, and fuses inspected. Continue to receive error message stating check charging system.

This system is malfunctioning and braked suddenly twice and I almost got rear ended. Now the system is not working and the dealer at diamond Honda wont repair.

The radio/gps system began to static really loud on its on without me touching the dial. The only way it would stop is when I turned off the vehicle. Honda refused to acknowledge this safety hazard as a factory defect. According to my internet search, it is a common phenomenon with this model but they want me to pay $1200 to replace the radio system ??. Please investigate! sad day for Honda.

Failure to display the rearview image. There is a recall for 2018 model Honda Accords. Nhtsa recall 18v-629 this specific complaint is for 2013-2017 models as well. Federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 111 - rear visibility. Due to a software error, the center display assembly that normally displays the rearview image may not provide the rearview image when the vehicle is reversing. Apple car play freezes up on the 2017 Honda Accord while the navigation is in play, distracting the driver while on the freeway. The driver does not know when this freeze happens until they miss their exit, causing a big distraction. These cars are being sold as compatible with the apple phones, but this is not true. American Honda is aware of the problem. Nothing is being done.

Car shuts off while driving. Very dangerous could cause a wreck. Will not start back up for about 20 minutes.

On Thursday July 14, while driving on hwy 278, the car had a sudden failure and starting decelerating. It almost got me and my daughter who was riding with me at the time killed. Only the grace of god protected us!!! I managed to get the car to the Honda dealer (dch academy Honda #708, old bridge, NJ). They informed me that the fuel pump failed and needed to change. The problem appeared all of a sudden and there was no warning at all. The car is being maintained regularly. This seems to be a manufacturing problem in the fuel pump for Honda Accord 2017 and it needs to be addressed. Again this almost got me killed!!!!!!.

The car is stalling on the highway out of nowhere. Car won’t start back up for about 20 minutes. Car completely shuts off during traffic. Almost caused a big wreck with an 18 wheeler because I was unable to move the car out the middle lane because it shut off. Causing false codes to pop up. Very dangerous situation with my three small children in the car.

The rear doors will not lock/unlock when using the keyless remote. I have replaced the rear doors actuators in June 2022 because the rear doors would not lock/unlock unless I manually locked/unlocked the doors which is a pain. Now not even two months later I am having the same issue with the front passenger door. This is not a cheap repair and there is too many complaints about this very issue not just occurring with the Accord.

The in dash stereo system with bluetooth makes loud static noises, regardless of whether the stereo system is on or off. The static noise is extremely loud and unpleasant, and should be considered a safety hazard. The only way to make it stop is to pull the fuse for the head unit. Pulling the fuse makes the infotainment system turn off, which means I can no longer have access to backup camera or the trip computer.

Charging system. New battery has been placed. Alternator checked & starter checked. Fuses checked. Car is still saying check charging system.

While making a left turn steering became stiff ,hit curb sent for body and mechanical repair and now while driving any speed , or at idle for a few mins ,problem gets worse on warm to hot days (much worse),,eps light comes on but also will have steering return then lose quickly on and off ,making it much more dangerous as I cannot commit to how hard to pull wheel ,shot across two lanes last time it happened . First warm day yesterday within 20 min 0f local driving the car eps went wild with intermittent rapid fire fails . Dealer said its ok then said rack is smashed then said its loose wires on two soft set terminals . Cannot belive them after three diagnostic changes on same issue as nothing is smashed . They wamt 5k to replace entire rack , now ,all this under 30k miles !.

While driving on an interstate, I started reducing my speed as I was approaching my exit. Before I could exit, my car automatically came to a complete stop. I was rear ended by a truck that was behind me. There were no vehicles or objects in front of me. 911 was called. The passenger in my car had to be transported to the hospital. My car and the truck had to be towed away. No warning lights appeared. My insurance company will be inspecting the car at the tow shop. Everyone involved safety was put at risk. We are thankful we are alive because this could have been worse.

Positive and fused negative battery cables corrosion caused battery failure.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda civic. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle slowed down and stalled. All the warning indicator lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed the high pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed back to the local dealer where it was diagnosed there was a problem with the wires. The vehicle engine fan and the other fuel pump needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

Rear backup camera stopped working at 130k miles.

I have continue to have issues with my navigation freezing. Then the whole navigation system will shut off and will eventually do a reboot in the middle of driving. It is definitely a safety hazard as you are trying to drive, navigate and try to figure out why your navigation system is breaking and not working working while driving. Especially if you are driving in an unfamiliar area using your navigation because you actually need it, then it becomes very frustrating and very dangerous and hazardous.
