The contact owns a 2024 Honda Civic equipped with continental tires, tire line: procontact TX, tire size: 215/50/r17, dot number: [xxx] . While the contact's daughter was outside of the vehicle, she discovered a large bubble on the front driver’s side tire. The contact was notified of the failure and instructed her daughter to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the tire was replaced with the spare tire. The contact initially notified the tire manufacturer about the failure and was informed that the failure might be related to a vehicle defect and referred the contact to a Honda dealer. The dealer was notified of the failure and declined responsibility for the failure. The manufacturer was called and referred the contact to an independent tire dealer that specializes in servicing continental tires. The independent mechanic worked with the continental manufacturer and offered the contact a replacement tire at 50% off. The tire was replaced. The tire and vehicle failure mileage were unknown. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Firestone affinity tire failed do to malfunction in tire sidewall. I do not believe this is condition or result of road hazard. Crack or damage in tire sidewall resulted in complete deflation in matter of seconds. Concerned that these tires are unsafe.

I bought a set of continental procontact tires 205/55/16 for a Honda Civic. On 12-12-13 and drove to harrisonburg va about 200 miles on 12-17-13. That night the tire pressure indicator lit up since it was late we waited until morning to check the tire at which time it was flat. Embedded in the tire was a wire going from near the wheel along the sidewall toward the tread. It was about 5 inches in length and about 0. 125 inches in diameter. Both ends were in the tire and there appeared to be a slice in the sidewall beneath the wire. Went to walmart where the tire was examined, they pulled one end out but the other didn't budge. Had to go to another store for the replacement. They were also not able to pull the wire out. Upon returning home I took the damaged tire to the store it was originally purchased from. They contacted continental and I received a full refund and the tire was returned to continental. Upon examination it seemed that the wire was embedded in the tire during manufacture as evidenced by the "slice" in the sidewall from which the wire emerged while driving leading to air loss, the impossibility of pulling the wire from the wheel area and the absence of penetration of the wire on the wheel aspect. . I do have photos of the wire and sidewall and tire interior showing the above. My strong feeling, and that of the original tire shop, was that the wire was molded into the tire during manufacture. The diameter of the wire was much greater than steel mesh wire. Most likely the wire was forced to the surface as a consequence of tire compression during the drive. I almost feel that it was intentionally added to the mold because of the length and position as well as the diameter.

Continuation on firestone affinity junk tires. I don't feel safe driving on these tires. Plus, I inspected the other 3 tires, there is a horseshoe crack in the sidewall/drivers front. Getting jacked around from victory Honda and firestone dealership on accountability issues. There was no magical road hazard, cop out?!# thousands of cars on the highway in California, my tires are the only magnet for glass/snags???? garbage tires, what are you check collectors waiting for? crash and or deaths. Flagrant recall issue!!!.
Upon inspections at the tire store, all 4 of 4 pirelli p3000 cinturato (p185/65r-14) tires on my passenger car had to be replaced because of a manufacturer's defect, per the tire technician. The technician showed me a crack in the rubber running the circumference of the sidewalls, not far from the tread area. Eventually, he said the tread would separate from the rest of the tire if the tire remained in service. I have the original receipt and replacement receipts. I believe the tires were being returned to the pirelli manufacturer.

I was proceeding approximately 35 mph through a neighborhood when the front left tire of my car blew out. The consequence was temoprary loss of control of my car which resulted in my car hitting the curb and doing damage to my wheels. Goodyear investigated and stated that there was a substantial impact causing over-deflection of the tire and fracture of the steal belt package and or linear material. As I was present, clearly the blowout took place prior to any impact of the car. Goodyear denies any responsibility or liability.
The sidewall of my dunlop original equipment tire on a 2004 Honda Civic with 7,895 miles blew out while driving at low speed. Lucky no accident occured. Car was being driven on a trip away from home. The goodyear auto service center refused to honor the warranty. The tire model was sp20fe p185/70r14.
I had originally purchased goodyear aquatred3 tires for my Honda Civic, on janurary 24,2004. In the time that the tires were purchased until the first tire issue, I had only put about 1000 miles on the tires. On March 13, 2004 I was driving along the freewayin the fast lane. The front driver side tire blew out due to sidewall failure of the tire. This caused the hub cap to disinigrate as well as bending the rim. Upon getting the tire placed with another goodyear aquatred3, I moved the driver side rear tire to the drivers side front, and replaced the bent rim with a new rim and had that tire and rim installed on the drivers side rear. On March 26, 2004 the tire that was moved to the drivers side front, had developed a tennis ball side ballon on the side wall, luckily I had felt the car start to shake and pulled over before I had another blow out. I am now having all the tires replaced.
While driving 70 mph the front driver's side tire sidewall separated. The consumer managed to pull over to change the tire. The dealership was notified (tire size p185r1485). Per the consumer's follow-up correspondence, please disregard this complaint.
Within fifteen minutes of having new rear tires put on my car, I experienced a sidewall blowout on the left rear tire while going around a left hand turn at about 40 mph. This caused my vehicle to spin out of control and slam head first into a concrete pillar at the base of a light pole. The vehicle was completely totaled and I suffered minor injuries. Had I not been wearing a seat belt I would have been killed. If I had anyone in the front passenger seat they would have probably lost their legs as the floor was pushed up to the same level as the seat.

We had four aquatred iii tires placed on the vehicle on March 28th. My wife and I couldnt pick up the car on the 28th, so we drove to mueller tire & brake store on the morning of March 29th. The phone number of the westlake store 440-899-1888. The address is 25409 detroit road, westlake, OH, 44145. After picking up the car at 9:17:54 a. M. (on the invoice), I was driving to work. I drove about 5 miles on I-90 eastbound towards downtown cleveland. I was driving about 60 to 65 miles per hour. I had just turned on my radio when I noticed that the tire noise seemed to be increasing. I turned off the radio, and started moving towards the right hand land. The tire noise continued to increase. I was hoping it was a precautionary measure, but I decided to get ready to pull off on the west 117th exit (exit number 166). My hopes of precaution disappeared when I started smelling burning rubber. I then looked in my drivers side rearview mirror and noticed that my left rear tire was belching smoke. The rear of the car started to shake. I pulled off a little ways onto the exit ramp. I then got out to see if I could possibly drive the car to a service station, but the tire was completely destroyed. The tread was ok, but the inner and outer sidewalls were completely shredded. Im not quite sure how I was able to get the car off the highway. (dot number: dot#2800 tiresize: 185/65r14).
1 sidewall blowout, 1tread blowout within 3 weeks. (dot number: w27jmnb tiresize: p185/65r14).
Tire size 185/65/14, dot unknown, original equipment on a 2000, Honda, Civic with 7000 miles,. Front left tire developed a bump on sidewall. Neither dunlop nor Honda will take responsibility. The tire were defective.
Consumer states firestone tire (no size) experienced a leak in the sidewall on the right front tire, consumer is angry due to getting a run around from Honda dealer and firestone dealer, consumer ended up having to buy the tire.
Sidewall of tire blewout when travelling approximately 60 mph. No evidence of puncture or other tire distress. (dot number: w27j mnb tiresize: p185/65r14).
Just after merging onto the highway and reaching full speed, ahumming noise was heard without any noticeable vibration. Within a few seconds, while slowing to allow traffic to clear, the driver's side rear tire failed. I heard a loud exposion and saw rubber fragments over my left shoulder. Luckily, I was able to control the vehicle and quickly pull off the highway. Upon inspection, only the outer edge of the tire remained on the rim. The entire tread portion of the tire was gone. All four tires had adequate pressure, were rotated at 7500 miles by henrick Honda, and were original equipment when the vehicle was purchased new late last year. I immediately contacted firestone and following their instructions to file a claim. Recently, I received a letter from firestone denying my request for compensation, siting insufficient air pressure evidenced by the tattered sidewalls and melted inner liner. As I stated previously, these tires were not low on pressure and were kept in excellent condition. The severity of this failure coupled with firestone's unwillingness to provide any compensation is the reason I'm filing this complaint. I truly believe that if one of the front tires had failed, I would have suffered a serious or fatal injury. (dot number: vn7jmnh379 tiresize: 18565r14).
I was driving south on i95 at highway speed and tuned off at exit 74 went north at 35 miles per hour and tire sidewall blew out after driving about a mile and a half. No damage to car. Changed tire myself. National tire CO 252 flanders road, niantic, connecticut. Was two miles south on same roadd( dot number: w27j, mnb tire size: fr 680,185 ).
While driving 65 mph the vehicle started shaking. The consumer pulled the vehicle over and noticed that the rear passenger side tire blew out(firestone p18570r14).
Consumer purchased 4 new michelin tires. Size p195/55/r15, dot b95vb68x3001. Xgt v4. 3 of the 4 tires blew out at sidewalls, and bubbles developed on sidewalls.
