36 Wiper problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 12/19/2022

Cold weather the wiper blades do not clear the windshield at all. Leaves huge parts of the window not able to see threw. This is at least the 2x to 3x time that this has happen. Seems like a big safety issue.

37 Wiper problem of the 2010 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 06/16/2022

The sun visor keeps splitting at the seam. When that happens it'll no longer hold itself in place and it will flop down blocking my view. At this point I've replaced both sun visors 3 times since I bought the car, about once every 3 years in the summer. This started happening at about 80,000 miles. Whatever adhesive Honda is using to put these together don't hold up in the heat. You can feel the visors getting soft and bending in the heat until it inevitably breaks. It can't be usage either since both the driver and passenger side fail at about the same rate and the passenger sun visor rarely gets used.

38 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 05/01/2022

Honda has a documented issue with the air condition condensor due to leaks in numerous Honda Civic 2016 - 2018 models. My car has a leaking condesnsor, but also a leaky compressor and evaporator - which are not covered under warranty. The repair cost for those is roughly $3,300 (compressor $1,696 and evaporator $1,590, if they are repaired with the condensor). My 2018 Honda Civic has 30k miles and I am afraid that the windows may fog up and I won't be able to see out the window during hazardous conditions.

39 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/04/2022

Pre-incident. . . . Improper weather stripping around both front and back windshield hold water on seams around installed windows. This results in air bubbles separating the glass from the glue seam and rubber seats. If too many occur for a long enough period, windshield can crack, shatter or break completely free during normal driving. This is happening on a less than 5 year old car. Honda dealership has inspected and taken pictures of bubble areas that are occurring between the entire seal. Bubbles started occurring 3 years ago and got significantly worse over time. No warning lamps.

40 Wiper problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 03/11/2022

When I was driving on the george washington memorial parkway I came across a part of the parkway that was under work by construction. As the lane begun to end I moved into the next lane as guided by the construction barrels, but the lane keep assist function would not allow me to steer onto the part of the road that I wanted to, and actually jerked me back onto the side of the road that had the barrels, causing my side mirror to collide with the barrels and the back cover came off and the mirror isn't adjustable through use of the adjustable mirror button in the car anymore.

41 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/12/2022

I was driving down the road and all of a sudden I heard a large explosion and pulled back the moonroof visor a little and could see the glass was all spiderwebbed and closed it again, I was about 3 miles from home and had my 80+ mother in the car so I got home before looking at the damage and found a huge blow out of my moonroof glass. Not sure if it was a stone or something that hit it or if it just blew out spontaneously, was a frightening situation.

42 Wiper problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 01/30/2022

The wiper blades on the 2022 Civic are prone to fail in cold temperatures. They fail to properly clear the windshields and effectively prevent the driver from being able to see. To me, it's an obvious design defect that causes the wiper blades to lift away from sections of the windshield. This is a serious safety issue that must be repaired.

43 Wiper problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 01/21/2022

Ice builds up on windshield while snowing. Wipers build up ice and stick to windsheild.

44 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/15/2021

A previous complaint to I submitted about this vehicle was relevant to the rear windshield shattering on its own. Update - backed by insurance claims, it has happened 3 times. Once for every year the car has been owned. This issue significantly needs attention. This complaint is about an ac unit. They manufactured a car with defective parts. Listed as a recall by all information I seen, I was obligated to pay a little over $300 for the "recall". Once finally getting a chance taking it back in because the issue was never fixed, they run tests, and tell me the compressor is bad and is going to cost $1400, more than the $1200 it was the first time. Above all, the business practices in which they account for the recalls needs to be evaluated. The portion of the cost of the first work on the ac system was labelled as "goodwill" which is the reason they are refusing to fix it this time. They said "good will" is a one time thing. This is also how they obligated me to pay for part of a recalled part that at the time they told me was a "voluntary recall" and would therefore not be subject to the standard laws surrounding recalls. Honda is genuinely up to no good and needs to be thoroughly evaluated.

45 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/04/2021

This 2020 Honda Civic si has been nothing but trouble. From the start I had the windshield crack on me from what Honda said was a tiny chip. I went in to work with my windshield seemingly fine only to come out to a spider web split all the way across the windshield. Honda would not cover citing it to be just an accident and I would have to get it fixed. The windshield absolutely had to be replaced with factory oem glass due to safety features which was on back order so I was forced to drive around with a broken windshield for close to 2 months. Company that installed glass said this is becoming more normal so to say as the glass they are using is paper thin in his words. On top of that from day one of owning the car it has the safety feature of lane keep assist and this feature will literally pick up heavy shadows on the road from power lines and try to correct you as if you are driving out of a lane! countless times I have had to hurry and over ride the assistance just to keep it from making me run off the road! Honda severely needs to look into this on top of their unsafe thin windshields which crack from the tiniest of pebbles hitting them. Also, I just had to replace the clutch and components in this vehicle after just 20k miles and less than a year of owning the vehicle. Honda offered nothing but a one time good will assist in paying for partial labor and parts. This started happening after a normal drive to work one day while going up a hill the clutch started slipping. Made an appointment and took the car in and was told to put another 100 miles on the car and bring back to them although they said they found a transmission leak and needed to find the source . This was certainly very unsafe as while doing those 100 miles the clutch completely burnt out and I was left stranded on the side of the highway and I was put in a dangerous situation.

46 Wiper problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 04/01/2021

The ac blows hot on drivers side causing the driver to sweat and lose grip of steering wheel. This is a known issue of faulty ac systems in this year of Civics.

47 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 03/12/2021

Air conditioner in vehicle stopped cooling causing excess build up of moisture on interior windshield and side windows impairing visibility and safe operation of vehicle. Raining prevented the ability to roll windows down to clear windshield and windows. Had to manually wipe the interior of windows and windshield to see constantly until I made it back to my home.

48 Wiper problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 03/01/2021

Ac compressor went out after 37,000 miles. Without the ac, it hurts visibility (could not defog the car windows) when raining or living in a high humidity area. This is also a safety issue in hotter climates. Also had problems with rear backup camera not working upon startup intermittently.

49 Wiper problem of the 2020 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/24/2021

On 24 Feb 2021, while driving down a state road at about 50 mph, my moonroof suddenly exploded outward. The moonroof was closed at the time of the explosion. I had not passed under any overpass (dropped object), nor was I passing or had I been passed by another vehicle (thrown debris). The vehicle in front of me was over 200 yards away. When the moonroof unexplainably exploded, moonroof glass was thrown across my roof and trunk, scratching the paint. The repair bill from my local dealership for just the moonroof repair was $976. 66. I feel there can be no other explanation to the exploded moonroof other than some type of defect with the car. The glass exploded outward, and the entire glass was shattered. It was not a "rock chip" or other type of damage since nothing else was in the area.

50 Wiper problem of the 2005 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/11/2021

The air bag white has been on for so long and I didn't know there was a recall I sideswiped a car it was not my fault the other night and the airbag didn't deploy and I bumped my head.

51 Wiper problem of the 2007 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 12/16/2020

1. Safety recall notice indicative of air bag problem. Took to dealer. He said that it has been fixed after an hour of stay for passenger inflator-and when noticed while driving back, the airbag light came again. Prior to this also, this problem was notified a few years ago, and I got it fixed. Dealer asking money for doing diagnostics and then fixing it. 2. Front and rear bumper clips fixed several times-4 times spending my own money but always a problem.

52 Wiper problem of the 2007 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 11/23/2020

Both sun visors (driver and passenger) fail to stay in their position, resulting in them rotating down, creating a safety hazard; obstructing visibility thru front windshield. Additionally because the visors don't stay in their position, they hang down creating an immediate safety hazard to any unsuspecting occupant getting into or out of the vehicle because you strike your head on the mispositioned visors. The driver side visor on our vehicle has been replaced twice (10-21-2010, mileage 21188 and 7-3-2012, mileage 27839 under TSB). It is well over due needing to be replaced a third time. It appears only after a class action lawsuit cooper v. American Honda motor CO. , inc. , did Honda issue TSB 11-031 to replace driver side (ds) visors. The root cause of the failure and the consequence, obstructed visibility and immediate striking hazards have not been addressed and continues to occur. I have contacted, 8-1-2022, Honda's customer service and reported this reoccurring issue to them and they said they have no obligation to address the visor issue due to the age and mileage limitations established in their service bulletin. Our vehicle has only 97591 miles on it. Well below the mileage limit. What gives them the right to establish the duration of liability for their defective product? safety should be their number one concern. Please give me some guidance as to how to proceed to address this immediate safety issue with my vehicle. This inherent problem revealed itself 4 years after purchase. Honda has not corrected the problem. Please send me a response you received this submission. Thank you. Ps how do I attach a video of visors rotating unassisted?.

53 Wiper problem of the 2002 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 11/23/2020

Progressive failing of the multiplex control unit, part # 38200-s5p-a11, for my 2002 Honda Civic hx 5sp has resulted in various problems that can prove to be very dangerous such as failure of turn signals, tail lights, windshield wiper motor, dashboard lights, dome light, power door locks, etc. Exactly when these failures occurred are hard to pin point but so far I have avoided property and bodily harm but not great inconvenience and repair cost. Please act to prevent this problem from causing harm or loss of life.

54 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 11/10/2020

2017 Honda Civic with 23,400 miles a/c once again stopped working. System was checked by Honda and re-charged under warranty but a/c is not working again. This created a dangerous driving scenario in which the front window would not defrost during a heavy rainstorm.

55 Wiper problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 10/10/2020

The ac system on these models have a factory defect. I was driving on the surface streets the windshield became foggy, I could not see traffic in front of me and suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. I got out of the car and cleaned the windshield with the piece of towel. Because the car's ac was not working it could not defogg the windshield. I have contacted Honda, but Honda doesn't repair it. It is a safety issue.

56 Wiper problem of the 2013 Honda Civic

57 Wiper problem of the 2019 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 08/24/2020

The winshield has cracked twice in the one year I have owned it. It costs $1,000 to repair it. I have never had a winshield crack in 33 years of owning cars. There is an issue causing this to occur. I had a rock chip in both instances.

58 Wiper problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 08/08/2020

Small rock hit lower driver side of windshield and made a very small nick about 6 months ago. I drove home from work Friday and upon getting my car ready Sunday evening for work the next day we noticed a crack. I can only assume this initiated where that rock hit and after googling the issue I realize I'm not alone in this. The windshield of the Honda 2016 and newer is garbage. It is weak and unsafe. That small crack from Sunday has now reached halfway across the windshield and I cannot drive my car until it is fixed on Wednesday afternoon for fear of it caving in. Why hasn't Honda addressed this issue? it's been four years of numerous complaints! the crack is growing at an incredibly and terrifying rate that it is completely unsafe. The first picture was at 7am, the second at 5pm, and the third at 9:30pm.

59 Wiper problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 08/07/2020

Air conditioning condenser was replaced under recall Jan. 2019. Ac stopped working by June, 2020. Condenser needed to be replaced again, but was on back-order. Over 5 weeks later, condenser was replaced in August 2020, but dealer reported compressor was leaking and needed to be replaced, for about $1,200. Honda refuses to cover more than 30% of that cost, according to both a regional representative and a Honda of America representative. The compressor is on back-order, indicating that a high number of compressors are failing. All the above work and diagnosis were performed by Honda dealer the automaster, shelburne, vt. The car has under 33,000 miles and is less than 4 years old. I'm the original owner. There appears to be a class action for this issue, initiated in California, case 2:19-cv-10537, filed Dec. 2019, us district court for central district of California. Having no ac is a safety issue in at least two ways: it's dangerous to drive in a hot car, and a fogged windshield obstructing driver's vision can't be cleared without ac. Honda should cover the full cost of correcting these safety issues.

60 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/11/2020

6 weeks ago the air conditioner/windshield defogger stopped working in my 2017 Honda Civic that I purchased new with a 7 year/120000 mile warranty. I took it to the dealership who diagnosed condenser failure but claims they are unable to obtain parts to perform repair. Every time I call I get the same "in a few days" excuse.

I was driving 70 on the free way in the far left lane and my tire blew and I ended up hitting the rail all the way on the right lane.

66 Wiper problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 02/17/2020

I was driving down interstate 30 at 70 mph when I heard a large explosion. I pulled off of the interstate to check my tires and finally realized the sunroof exploded. It was not raining, there was not a dump truck in front of me, I was not on my phone or distracted, I was paying close attention to the road and the sunroof exploded out of the blue. There was no point of impact below the glass insert, but the entire sunroof was shattered into a million pieces.

67 Wiper problem of the 2016 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 12/19/2019

I purchased a 2016 Honda Civic for my son in 2016. I received a notice about ac problems this year. I contacted my son and asked him if he had problems with the a/c. He reported that it doesn't blow very much air and the air never gets cold. So I had him take to dealership. He was told that the recall for a/c affected only one part of the unit which they could fix under no cost. . . But they said that there was a huge hole in the air compressor and this was not covered. They quoted over $2,000 to replace air compressor. I found this hard to believe and researched to find out what causes a hole in the compressor that makes it beyond repair and the only information I could find were others having the same problem with 2016 Honda Civic faulty air compressors. Again when I tested it myself, it was not blowing cold air and sometimes not blowing air at all. Since I purchased vehicle, it seems like system was not fully capable of defrosting windows in front and back and figured the design was bad.

68 Wiper problem of the 2017 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 11/10/2019

The back wiper remained in fast speed until shutting off vehicle. Twice. Second time length of approx 5 minutes. Then operated normally. 12/09/19 2nd. Radio has been changing stations on it's own. And the the phone has been asking me to set up with blue tooth when I am driving. I have shut off the radio and it seems to re-set itself. This has been going on for about month. 11/09/19.

69 Wiper problem of the 2010 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 11/04/2019

Wiper blades makes loud rubbing noise, because wiper arms are pressed very hard against windshield causing friction between the blades and windshield. I installed new wipers from sam's club, still loud noise is not going away. This problem existed ever since I bought brand new Civic in 2010, but due to light usage mostly in dry days, I ignored this problem. I feel car is unsafe to drive in rain or snow due to poorly designed wiper arms or wiper assembly. I have only driven 54,000 miles since 2010.

70 Wiper problem of the 2018 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 10/30/2019

I was driving down i45 at about 70mph when I heard a really loud pop. Confused, I was looking in all my mirrors trying to find out what happened, as I knew I didn't hit anything or feel anything. I hear loud wind noises, and open my sunroof shade to find 90 % of my sunroof had exploded up and out onto the freeway. Nothing hit my sunroof. I wasn't driving behind anyone for at least a 1/4 mile. I didn't drive under an overpass. I was in the far right late, so nothing came from the other side. It just exploded. The glass remaining was angled outward, not inside my car. I have done my research. This is a recurring problem and needs to be addressed. The Honda of spring dealership will not cover it under my warranty. This is a defect/manufacturing problem. The service manager even told me this isn't the first time he's seen it. . . . And you dont think its a problem?.
