1 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 01/22/2019

Was driving on the freeway when suddenly my car engine shuts off. There is still power too the car but the speed odometer doesn't work, along with whatever is used to monitor the milage I have traveled. I have to switch it too low gear in order too keep it going or the car stops even when im going 65. It has happened now multiple times and when shifted into park it won't shift out of park for several hours. I have to disconnect the battery terminals too reset the codes because if I don't ill end up sitting in my car several hours before I can start moving again. The lights that illuminate are the brake system, check engine light, and ima system all amber. If I didnt act as I did this time it would have been like the first time where I actually did stop on the freeway causing for a traffic jam, not only was that embarrassing it was also scary being stuck in the furtherest left lane with no shoulder on the left side too pull off the freeway and all the cars speeding at 65 mph or more by me .

3 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 02/16/2015

The contact owns a 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle downshifted to 15 mph independently while making a jerking motion. Also, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnostic testing, which indicated that a random misfire caused the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.

4 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

I have had my hch 2005 at the dealership several times since I bought it in 2011. It has had the recall updates as they were received. My mil (check engine light) is on constant. I have replaced all 3 oxygen sensors and the catalyic convertor even after having the recall done for the secondary and third oxygen sensors. The light will not go off. When taken to the dealer they said it was the oxygen sensors and wanted $1,100 to replace them. But they are new so I know thats not the problem. Now I have learned there was some kind of recall that they failed to inform me of that was supposed to update the ecm and keep the problem I have been trying to fix from happening. Also had the juddering issue and 5 months after the dealer fixed the problem it started agian. They said that it had to be something else and the recall would not cover a second repair. So now I have a car that has a judder at takeoff and cannot be inspected because the check engine light is on. I cannot take it to have the newest recall fixed with the airbags. I have put over $500 in it to get the light off so it could pass the emissions test but still not off. And I think that Honda should have recalled all of these cars and junked them. I am a very upset onsumer and feel that something should be done about all these issues. I will be submitting my repair costs labor and parts for reinbursment becausee I feel like Honda should have done a better job.

5 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 03/02/2011

It appears that there may be a trend of premature ima battery failures for this vehicle and should be investigated. On our brand new 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid with less than 952 miles and less than 4 months of use, the ima and check engine lights came on. Ima battery - premature battery module deterioration (code p0a7f. ) was determined to be the cause of ima and check engine light. The battery module was replaced by the Honda dealer. Ima and check engine light came again in October 2013, less than 3 year of use. Took it to the Honda dealer. They checked it out and replace the battery module on 10/31/2013. The ima code was the same, p0a7f high voltage battery deterioration. The mileage was 46,084. Two ima battery failure in less than three years appears to be excessive. The original warranty on ima battery module is 8 years, 80,000 miles (for ohio) as listed in the owner's manual . For some states, it is 15 years, 150,000 miles. Although, both batteries were replaced under original warranty, it appears that there may be a trend of premature battery failures for this vehicle and should be investigated by appropriate agencies and the car company. Safety as a result of loss of power without the battery assist, fuel consumption (mpg), replacement costs of batteries and time required for the repair/replacement are the main concerns. The warranty info on the replacement is sketchy and unwritten.

6 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 10/10/2010

I have a Honda Civic Hybrid 2006, last days I have my ima light and check engine light come up, I went o the dealer o'hare Honda and they refused me to do the a recall update to the software and fix my check engine light and ima light that is related to the electric engine with battery. I will mention that the warranty book says that they need to fix these issues under a federal law 8/80k but they treat me bad and not even open to discuss. When I asked to talk with somebody else they old that no manager was Friday at 12 pm. I mention that my warranty was canceled and car mileage is 78. 000, I don't feel comfortable to drive this car is losses power and is dangerous when you try to pass another car or an intersection with these issues.

8 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid

Failure Date: 12/08/2006

I recently had a problem with my Honda pilot. We took it to auto zone and had them hook it up to their diagnostics machine. The code "p1399" resulted. However, we were told that we had to contact Honda to find out what the code meant because it was a generic code that Honda puts out. I contacted the dealer and asked what the code meant, and I was told that I had to bring my vehicle down to them to put it on their machine: for $95. 00. Honda has created their codes so that auto zone and other reasonably priced places can not assist Honda owners. We are forced to pay this outrageous amount because only Honda can tell us what is wrong with our vehicles. I did many hours of research on the internet and have found that this "p1399" code is quite common, as well as this kind of problem with the vehicle. The Honda pilot has an ongoing problem with the engine light and vtm light coming on around 30-40 thousand miles. The engine misfires, and the vehicle feels like it is "chugging". It seems the timing of this problem is consistent with the warranty expiring. I have read that many people have had this same problem, and that Honda is aware of the problem, yet have failed to address it. . Read more...
