Loud Engine Noise Problems of Honda Civic Hybrid

It lurches for it will excell when you don't want it to. Has trouble to shift into another gear loud noises. Was driving down the highway and I turned on the cruise control an accelerated faster than when I program data entry of the rpm's up. Had to step on the brakes a couple times to get it to stop doing that almost hit two vehicles I do all the transmission fluid changes recommended and oil. These are great cars but these problems that need to be addressed.

My car suddenly made a loud noise when making a stop on a busy intersection. I could manage to drive it to a safe spot before the car failed completely. The regular maintenance had been done in my car but I didn't know about the transmissions failures of the Honda hybrids until now. This is very dangerous.

- contact stated that on the evening of April 9, 2007 while driving at 35 to 40 mph in light highway traffic, the contact heard a loud noise from under the 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid. The check engine light turned on, and transmission gear shifted from drive to neutral. The contact noticed that the rpms went up to 4000, but the vehicle was not accelerating. The vehicle lost power, and would only drive at about 15 to 20 mph. The contact was waiting for Honda to inspect the vehicle. The current and failure mileage were 83,000.
