My vehicle when starting from a dead stop shudders for jitters when you go. This seems to slowly be getting worse. I have changed transmission fluid on regular intervals with Honda cvt oem transmission fluid. Also my airbag sensor light for the drivers side is constantly on. This has been on for several years. I have just never bothered to take it in for fear that there would be a charge to fix an item that I feel for safety reasons Honda should take care of.

The contact owns a 2009 Honda civic. The contact stated that the airbag sensor located in the passenger seat made the airbag warning light illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired; however, the parts had to be ordered. The contact was informed that it would take approximately one and a half weeks for the parts to arrive from California. The contact was advised that he would be notified when the parts were available. The dealer was also informed that if the sensor light was illuminated none of the air bags in the vehicle would work in the event of a crash. The contact is concerned about the significant safety risk. The failure and current mileages were 30,500.

The air bag deployment system on our 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid has shut down. The mechanic at our dealership, open road Honda in edison, NJ, says it'll cost $825 to replace the computer sensor system which controls the bags. Our car is 5 years old and has about 101,000 miles on it. It has been well maintained, mostly by the dealership, and still runs more or less like new. The manual says the srs system is supposed to be maintenance-free. Naturally the car is past warranty. Is it normal and expected for air bag systems to break down for no apparent reason, at this point in the car's existence? is there something wrong with 2004 civics which might have caused this malfunction? has there been a recall we may not be aware of regarding this part? have other civic owners reported the same or similar problems. And of course do we have any rights to get the part repaired at no or at a lower cost than what we were quoted?.
The vehicle's srs light started to come on. It would come on and off until it finally stayed on. We took it to the dealer and the dealer said it was the airbag control module. It would cost $700 to repair. Based on a different defect, Honda has extended the warranty on their srs if the error code comes up as 15-1, 15-2, 15-3 (opds sensor or control unit). This warranty did not cover the defect I have on the airbag. My error code was 7-2, the "control module. With the srs light on, the airbag (according to the dealer) is not active. I can not afford to pay $700 to fix this. This is a safety equipment issue resulting from a defect. Airbag shouldn't "wear out". I did some research on the internet and there are many complaints about this from other owners. At $700, I'm sure there are many drivers driving around without airbags. 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid. Consumer states issues with seat belt light the consumer stated the dealer had supposedly fixed the problem in the past. However, the consumer had to return to the dealer for the same problem. The dealer then said the seat belt light illuminating was due to another issue and that the part would have to be ordered. When the consumer went back to the dealer for her 90,000 mile maintenance, she had to remind them to replace the part. When the other repairs were completed, the service manager informed the consumer the cost to fix the problem would be $750. 00 and that it was not under warranty. He explained that the srs control unit was bad and if she did not get it fixed, the air bags would be useless.
