Side/window Air Bag Problems of Honda Civic Hybrid

I was merging onto the interstate from the ramp and the passenger side, seat side airbag deployed for no reason. Honda shows no current recalls for my car. A recall for the main airbags had already been made. Fortunately there wasn't anyone in the passenger seat at the time, or they might have been injured.

The contact owned a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid. The contact stated that his mother-in-law was involved in a front end collision after losing control of the vehicle on the freeway. I had an accident on 02/07/2017, 09:15 am ( case number b17-02029 )on highway I-93 in windham, nh. I was driving alone to south. Then, because of ice and snow car lost control, spun,hit back and front and passenger side. I stop after 180 degree turn. No one involved. Damages were front back and passenger side and some of interior. Front bumper was fall off. My car was towed by aaa who was called by the police. My passenger side airbags both window and door were dropped, but non of them had air at all. Just empty bags were dragged. Then I checked the air bag status about my car. My car was eligible for recall on Dec/20/16 as I see online, but Honda dealer never gave us a notice about the recall. My husband purchased the car 07 as a new at Honda dealer in salem nh.

Entered the vehicle, closed the door, turned on the ignition, started connecting my phone to the phone charger and the side airbags (curtain airbags) deployed while the vehicle was in park. Vehicle was not involved in an accident nor had any damage on the body. I have filed a claim with the insurance company, geico and the vehicle is being towed to the closest Honda dealer to examine the data event recorder to review the computer for defects. . . Tl -the contact owns a 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph the driver lost control of vehicle as a result it went off the road and none of the air bags deployed except for the side air bag on the passenger side. The contact mentioned that the vehicle had been taken in to the dealer before the accident for an illuminated air bag lamp but they did not have the parts available to repair it. A police report was not file and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed to local shop who was not able to diagnosed the problem. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 62,000. Pm.

The contact owns a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid. The contact stated while driving 15-20 mph, another vehicle crashed into him at a head-on angle from the passenger side front wheel. The side air bags did not deploy but the driver and passenger air bags did. The driver was severely injured and two people in the other vehicle were moderately injured. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was filed. An accident reconstruction report was also available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The current and failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
