Car was parked and burst into flames from engine compartment. No check engine lights no issues with car. Some building damage from fire. Car totaled, engine block melted from fire.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken for state inspection and could not pass the smog testing. The vehicle failed the smog testing due to a failure with the vehicle stability assist. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic a year prior to the state inspection because the check engine light, vsa and tpms warning lights were illuminated on the instrument panel. The technician replaced the stability control sensor however the check engine, vsa and tpms warning lights continued to illuminate intermittently on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
