1 Engine problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2008

This is the second time since purchasing the vehicle April 2008 that I've started the vehicle and the engine revved at a high idle speed like I was flooring the accelerator except my foot was on the brake. I'm concerned that this may happen when I'm coasting without my foot on any pedals and the car may accelerate on it's own. The first time this occurred, I had my foot on the brake and put the car in neutral and the high revving stopped. I took it to a Honda dealer and they said sometimes the accelerator valve sticks and they sprayed lubricant on it.

2 Engine problem

Failure Date: 07/04/2008

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Cr-v. While making a right turn at 25 mph, the vehicle lunged forward and then dramatically accelerated. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into someone's place of residence. There were no warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. The vehicle was completely destroyed and all of the air bags deployed. The contact sustained minor injuries and the house was moderately damaged. The vehicle has not been inspected to determine the cause of the failure. A police report was filed. The contact has pictures of the vehicle after the failure. The failure and current mileages were 4,000.
