1 Engine Failure problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2013

In line with the recent Mazda recall for yellow sac spiders found in the evac canisters, my Honda Cr-v had the same problem. Apparently, this is a problem that has affected Honda accords in the past because Honda has issued a service bulletin on installing a special filter for Honda accords to prevent the spiders from entering. However, no such bulletin or part exists for the Honda Cr-v. As such, after paying nearly $100 at the dealership for them to diagnose and remove the spiders, there is no guarantee that this can't happen again because they did not add a filter to prevent spider re-entry. At the minimum, these spiders with their resultant webs can severely limit gas mileage. At the worst, a fire or engine failure can result. I petition that Honda issue a recall for Honda Cr-v's and cover the labor and parts costs for placing a specialized filter to prevent spider re-entry.

2 Engine Failure problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2010

Honda crv 2008 32,000 miles no history of accident or damage. While turning onto the highway engine failed and stopped vehicle. Vehicle towed to dealership. Major engine damage due to broken motor mount bolt. Dealership claims it was due to abuse of vehicle. There is no history of accident or damage done to the vehicle.
