1 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2007 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 09/27/2019

Nothing actually "happened" while I was driving the car. My airbag light went on and would not shut off, so I visited hennessey Honda in woodstock, georgia, for service. I am perplexed that I need to replace a passenger airbag for almost $700. A recall was issued three years ago, and I had a canister replaced on the 2007 Honda Fit, due to a recall. Last week I looked on the NHTSA recall list and found the passenger side airbag inflator recall list from June 27, 2019, and the 2007-2008 Honda Fit is listed. When I put in my VIN into the list, it indicates that I have 0 recalls. I don't understand why I would not qualify for the recall repair. If the airbag product was defective, I should not have to pay for the repair for a new one. I wanted to file a complaint to make sure NHTSA knows that these airbags still need repairs, and perhaps Honda should be pressured by NHTSA to complete these repairs free of charge. Thank you.

5 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2007 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 09/12/2017

Takata recall Honda replaced the passanger airbag, but not the driver side. They said it wasn't a takata inflator. This did not make sense to me. Today (6/12/18 ) on the news they said millions of the airbags are still a serious problem and have not been replaced. I just want the truth about my car, why would they put a takata bag on one side and something else on the other????.

Takata recall the letter we received from Honda in March 2016 stated, "the remedy parts needed to conduct driver's airbag inflator recalls will become available in the summer of 1016. Honda will send you another letter when parts become available to repair your vehicle. 13 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2013 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 09/01/2016

I received an important safety recall notice in March of 2016 saying that the airbags were potentially defective. It says that "the remedy parts needed to conduct driver's airbag inflator recalls will become available in the summer of 2016. " at that time I will receive another letter telling me to contact the dealer. The summer is quickly waning to a close so yesterday I went to the dealer in person (jl freed in montgomeryville, PA) and was told that they are still months behind, that some people have had to leave their cars there for 3 months. I do not see this as an acceptable situation and think Honda should take this car back now without penalty. They clearly cannot rectify the problem in a timely manner. My wife does not feel safe driving this car. We have been patient, but Honda is not living up to its promise. I do not think we should have to wait until an incident happens to get a safe car, nor do I want to be sending photos as a widower. Thanks in advance for your attention to this matter.

Takata recall: it has been more than 60 days since I requested my new airbag inflator. I have not been given a date to expect replacement of my faulty airbag inflator. I asked to be let out of my lease due to this issue. I was given an appraisal on my car that would let me out after 2 more paymetns. I made those two payments. Then I was given a new appraisal saying I would have to give the dealer [Honda of seattle] $2700 to get out of my lease. I am frustrated with the double speak of the dealership. I am frustrated with the lack of information about when to expect a replacement airbag inflator. I am frustrated at the breach of trust at work here. This was a known problem, but was kept from me for 2 years of my lease, and now I am expected to pay more because of the manufacturer's error.

20 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2011 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 05/23/2016

Takata inflators. I have called ocean Honda many time to schedule this recall. Service dept. Said parts on order and would be process per vehicle owners requesting repair. I called initially in April 2016 to get in queue; I call back in June 2016 and they said I hadn't called before. Ventura, CA is a high humidity location and thus should be one of the first to get repairs. I've called multiple time since and still "no parts. " my daughter drives this car with this potentially lethal flaw. I request NHTSA do something to speed up remediation and assess stiff fines for lack of compliance. Thank you.

Takata recall and passenger airbag inflator recall: I originally contacted scott robinson Honda in torrance, CA in March 2016 regarding the recall. I was told to wait until June 2016 to contact them to address the recall because they were out of parts. I called them in early July and left two phone messages. I also went to their website and web-chatted with a representative and they said they would get back to me within a day or two. It has been weeks and I haven't heard back from any of my messages. They are ignoring my messages. Even if there is a delay in scheduling an appointment they could at least let me know. They continue to disregard me every time I contact them. I am extremely disappointed with the service from scott robinson Honda and I'm concerned about my safety.

23 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2011 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 03/15/2016

Takata inflators. I received a recall notice in March 2016, and within a day or two contacted my local Honda dealer, mc grath Honda, located at 1411 e main street in st charles, IL. They supposedly put me on a waiting list. I have called them 3 times, and even stopped by once to inquire on the status o my vehicle. They have never called me back. Even on my drop by visit, I was not given an answer, just told someone would call me back the next day. . . Did not happen. I have now been waiting over 180 days to get the repair. I have even contacted the Honda dealer schaumburg, IL, but have had no better luck with them. If this is such a safety concern, maybe they should concentrate on fixing the cars that are already on the road. Help me get my car fixed. I rely on it to take my handicapped mother to her doctor's appointments in chicago.

I was contacted in may 2016 letting me know that the replacement parts would be available in late summer/early fall 2016, and that Honda would contact me again when they were available.
