The problem I have there is 3 recalls for my vehicle. One is the urgent as takata airbags installed. I called local Honda dealer on 6/27/25, they order the part and I received the email stating that part arrived. I called dealer today to schedule a replacement. When I ask how long it will take, lady say about 1/2 day. When I ask if Honda will give me car to drive in that time, she stated no. , but I can rent a vehicle for $75. Dealers name: gary smith Honda, 225 miracle strip sw, FL. , 32548. Is it safe to drive this car?.

I called the Honda dealership in concord California on 12/2/2024 for the 20v-770 recall as well as the airbag shrapnel issue. They checked with the service manager and refused to inspect the drive train unless there “was a problem with the car”. They refused to repair the air bags unless “something happens, hopefully nothing happens then we can look at it. ” they offered to have the airbags repaired at our expense. What is the point of having a recall if the dealers refuse to even look at the car until it crashes or hits you with shrapnel?.

Honda has sent me numerous mailers advertising a gift card and loaner vehicle as incentives for participating in their takata recall. Honda also cites the promise of a loaner vehicle in every press release trumpeting their so-called commitment to this recall. My local Honda dealership refuses to provide a loaner vehicle. I reported this problem to Honda expecting them to intervene, but I received nothing except useless automated email responses.

I took in my car for the fuel pump recall on October 4th at clawson Honda fresno. I took it home the same day and the next day my car was stalling and shut off on me. I took my car back to clawson Honda on October 8th and they scanned it and said the fuel pressure was low. They cleared the codes that they claimed were unrelated to the recall and wanted to charge me 390 for diagnostics. I refused. My car is still stalling in the road and many of the dash lights come on. The car wont let me accelerate. I took it back to clawson Honda October 30th because this issue was not present prior to the recall. We just received a call that the fuel pump that was replaced is making the other components work harder which is causing it to stall. This is all clearly caused by the recall but they want me to pay 1500 out of pocket to have it fixed. Which is unfair. I submitted a complaint to Honda corporate but they still say we have to pay dealership fees. My car was working fine before the recall and im frustrated that it was returned to me in worse condition. This was all because of the recall fuel pump and the issues are all connected so I shouldnt have to pay.

There have been multiple airbag system warning lights on my Honda Fit over the past couple of months. Initially, the driver side airbag inflator warning illuminated and I was able to reset it. Now the passenger side inflator is setting off the warning and it won't reset.

Air bag warning light indicates malfunction.

The air bag light flashing saying airbag is off. The electrical system shut off, radio flashed on and off. The steering lost its power and the head lights shut off then everything would come back on. This happened multiple times, I could not control the steering, very unsafe and scary. Car is available for inspection upon request.

I had my airbags serviced in 2016 at a Honda dealership to fix the takata airbag recall issue. In 2023, I was hit on the front left portion of the car at an estimated 50mph, and no airbags deployed. I contacted Honda about this issue, and they said my insurance company had to do an inspection relating to the airbag failure reasons, but my insurance company said Honda would have had to send an agent to inspect. My car was totaled and sold by the insurance company. I have the official pictures from the insurance company’s inspection to value the car.

A Nissan pickup towing a trailer ran a red light and crashed into the front middle driver’s side area of my 2020 Honda Fit. The driver who ran the red light was traveling at an approximate speed between 40-50 mph. At the moment of impact the left side of my head hit the driver’s side window. The entire left side of my body was forcefully thrown against the door. After my body went left, the force of the impact caused my body to flail to the right. My car is equipped with front, side curtain and side airbags, for a total of six airbags; none of which deployed during or after my car was struck. According to the diagram located in my Honda Fit’s owner’s manual, there is an airbag sensor located on the front/middle section on the driver’s side, the exact point where my car was crashed into. I sustained several injuries that I feel could’ve been prevented had the airbags deployed as they were designed. At the time of the accident, I was turning left after I had gotten a green turning arrow to proceed,. I was traveling at approximately 15-20 mph. I rapidly decelerated as a means to prevent the collision, but was unable to avoid it, as the other driver did not swerve or brake to avoid me. He hit me at full speed. My car has been declared a total loss by my insurance company. The car is available for inspection. I have retained an attorney and we will be getting an investigator to obtain the data from the car’s event data recorder as soon as possible. There were no warning lights for airbags prior to the accident. I was properly wearing my seatbelt at the time of the accident. No post manufacturing modifications have ever been made to my car. I called Honda to report this on February 10, 2023. One of the biggest reasons I chose a Honda Fit, in addition to it meeting my personal needs and size preferences, was because of its safety features, yet when I needed them, the airbag system failed.

The contact stated that while pulling into a intersection at approximately 15 mph a vehicle from the passengers side had ran into his vehicle while in the intersection. The contact stated that when the other driver pushed his vehicle into another lane causing him to crash into another vehicle,, crashing the front end of his vehicle. The contact stated that no warning lights were illuminated and the airbags did not deploy. The contact stated that medical attention was not needed for nether of the 3 vehicles involved in the crash, and a police report was made. The contact stated he tried to drive his car back to his residence since it was only 2 blocks away, but the vehicle had turned back off. The contact stated he then placed the vehicle in neutral and pushed the vehicle to his residence where it remains. The contact stated that he has not contacted the dealer or independent mechanic, however the insurance did do a appraisal on the vehicle. The contact stated that he was advised the vehicle was not totaled and the insurance will have it repaired. The contact stated he did contact the manufacturer and was advised he will receive a call back. The mileage failure was 9,800.

The vehicle started to bounce and accelerated on its own while making a left turn and was not responding to brakes to slow down and kept going faster and faster. The vehicle was only responding to steering. The car went up a curb into a yard, heading to a house , which was avoided by steering to the driveway and hit a parked car, then proceeded to a car parked on the street, then continued across the street and struck a truck facing the opposite way, which bounced the car into a yard and hit a tree which bounced it back and finally stopped by a electrical line. 4 collisions and no airbag. Because it was 4;45am in a neighborhood street, no one was injured. The car is totaled by the body shop and insurance company is not willing to pursue with manufacturer. The spontaneous acceleration, brakes and airbags are major safety failures. If this was any other time of day or on other busy streets, the outcome could be much worse. I read online that there was a software issue with this vehicle for acceleration in japan and others who have had this problem here in the us. I would like this investigated and reported.

Motor mounts bust causing shaking alot of reports on youtube. Airbag passenger turns off at times no apparent reason. Sometimes with bag in seat or nothing at all. Motor mounts are bad in these cars won't last 100 thousand miles bolts break if it doesn't get fixed automatically. Antioch brake system slides when slammed on breaks in no rain.

We keep getting notifications that we need to replace our air bags. Both the left and right bags have been replaced by gustman in appleton, WI. They said that they notified you and I personally have sent paperwork. I refuse to send more and would like to be taken off the list. I will now be destroying this mailing and will not open any more. I will send them back to you.

My father was in a collision at 55 mph when another vehicle illegally pulled out in front of him, the airbag deployed but did not inflate. The accident resulted in injury to his rib cage and fracture of his lower vertebra.

Takata recall Honda of seattle already replaced my takata airbag. I was driving and hit (t-boned) another vehicle that ran a stop sign. Tl the contact owned a 2011 Honda Fit. While driving approximately 7 mph, the contact's vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle traveling approximately 70 mph. None of the air bags deployed. Police report number: PA-19-285971 was filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a police impound facility. The front passenger was transported by ambulance to the hospital and sustained five broken ribs, a broken back, and lacerations to the head. The occupant remained in the hospital for eight days. The second row passenger and a child were also transported to the hospital with injuries to the face and head. They remained in the hospital for one month. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 51,000.

Takata recall will not answer phone calls.

I bumped into a raised median and the airbag came out and the wheels got stuck in the median. On wheeler road. At 10 to 20 mph. I have an airbag recall but I have tried contacting you by phone and mail but it wouldn't accept my phone #. I got huge bruises and smoke inhalation from the airbag going off. It shouldn't have. Takata recall- I was involved in an accident, where I rear ended another vehicle and my vehicle was deemed totaled, but my airbags "failed to deploy", therefore it is obvious that they are faulty and this was not a good experience, please can you help me because my vehicle is not in your list of "recalls" and why not if this occurred to me???.

There are no available recalls reported on NHTSA for the 2009 Honda Fit. However, there are several takata recalls.

Takata recall. Received a recall letter in the mail from american Honda. Took the vehicle to stevens creek Honda one month ago. The told me that they would need approval from Honda to do the recall. Still have not received an approval to get the recall done. Is there anything you can do to help me with this situation?.

"takata recall" we got into a car accident all the airbags deployed and exploded my god daughter was hurt but not by the accident but by the airbags that burned my goddaughters face (nose, eye and lip) burned her shoulder. A friend of mine was driving my vehicle she ran a stop sign that was not visible due to the lighting and also all of the trees right infront of it. She didn't know of see the stop sign she ran it and got hit front passenger side.

My daughter, katelin k. Powell purchased the vehicle April 5th 2017. The passenger takata air bag was replaced september2016 the drivers takata air bag replaced March 2017 at mcclarta Honda work # 669716. In little rock, ar. A few days before she purchased it. The officer investigating the crash stated he was 100% sure the drivers airbag should have been deployed due the serious impact. I contacted Honda and an inspector is being dispatched to make sure the air bag was reinstalled correctly. Hondas case # 06197469 has been moved to a priority 1 status please advise me if there are any other occurrences of this nature and log this incident please for future reference.

Due to this airbag defectiveness my car got damaged and affected badly.
