Car only has 91,000 miles and code p219a is popping up but Honda wont cover it because its the "wrong" code even though they cover fuel injectors under misfire codes.

There was a warranty extension for carbon buildup on the fuel injectors and I have taken my car to Honda twice to get the carbon removed and the software updated to fix the problem of multiple codes coming up. I took the car on Friday September 19, 2025 and I picked up the car at 3:30pm in September 20th. The person assisting me said they removed the buildup and fixed the software but at 11pm on the 20th, all the light came back on, indicating the problem was not fixed. I drove about 75 miles after getting my car back when the problem happened again. This has been incredibly unsafe for multiple reason. 1. When all the car dash indicators turn on, you can’t tell what the tire pressure is and if there are any problems. I have been having to manually check the tire pressure every few weeks because this is an ongoing problem and it causes the tire pressure gauge to not work 2. Because this is ongoing, you cannot reset the oil change maintenance indicator, so it is much harder to track when an oil change was last done. This has caused me to miss vital maintenance required to keep the car running well. 3. It is incredibly inconvenient to have to take the car to be fixed for the same problems multiple times. It costs consumers vital time, and potentially money without seeing any actual improvements. Although the diagnostics fee has been waived, having to potentially pay up to $200 in diagnostic fees makes consumers like me not want to take it for fear that may be very costly to even have them take a look at the car, thus making it less likely people will take the car in for necessary and important safety fixes. If you would like to see any records or inspection the vehicle, please feel free to reach out. The only fix I have been offered is to replace the fuel injectors for $1600, without any guarantee that it would fix the problem. I also took this matter up with Honda corporate, without any real solutions and there are multiple reports online of repeat problems.

The fuel gauge in the gauge cluster turns on and off unexpectedly and without reason for extended periods of time. The gauge will also do what I like to call hieroglyphic numbers, essentially unreadable lettering clearly due to an electrical malfunction. This is very distracting as a driver and has put me in a very near death experience from the fault. This problem makes it impossible to read the fuel quantity during or before operation of the vehicle. It has been confirmed by dealer that the fault is due to a damaged solder and has been clear that this is a common issue with most Honda Fits.
Vehicle has less than 16k miles over 6 years of ownership. One day, upon starting the car, multiple warning lights, including check engine light, appeared. Dealer stated after diagnostic that issue is due to misfire in one cylinder due to carbon buildup. This is a known issue with this model, and several repair bulletins have been made about this specific issue. Certain vins were given an extended warranty to fix this problem, but despite having this exact issue and my VIN being mentioned in the repair bulletin, my car is not covered, forcing me to pay out of pocket for this known issue. Car is deemed not safe to drive by dealer until issue is remedied.
Purchased new 2019 Honda Fit. Had to have injectors replaced at dealership due to issues at 18,000 miles. At 19,743 miles started having driving issues with unusual jumping during driving/idling. Honda dealership diagnosed as misfire with excessive carbon buildup. Completed carbon cleaning procedure though only temporary repair. American Honda reviewing matter reference #4411584. Issues returned at 40,308 miles with same issues ( all lights going off on dash, carbon buildup in injectors). Completed carbon cleaning at dealership. At 44,831 same lights went off again, carbon buildup seen, faulty injectors replaced at dealership. Issues continued at 56,649 where carbon cleaning took place again for issue at dealership. At 86,606 check engine lights returned with jumping, faulty injectors replaced again and a cleaning was performed at dealership. At 113,791 miles, issues came up again. Dealership cleaned again with carbon cleaner. American Honda contacted again after last dealership visit #15755510 with american Honda rep stating there is no solution at this point per Honda engineers.
Before getting the recall completed on this 2018 Honda Fit I was experiencing the engine misfiring and engine stalling while driving as well as many warning light illuminating on the dashboard. When taking the vehicle to the dealership they found out that I needed a recall completed for the fuel pump so this may have been what was causing the engine misfiring, stalling, and illuminated warning lights on the dashboard. But, because I was experiencing a misfire they went ahead and charged me for a diagnosis so they can make sure there are no other issues going on. So after performing the recall on the fuel pump replacement the dealer technician says there in an active engine code and says its p0301 for engine misfire and with further checking says I need to replace a four fuel injectors with only 85,000 miles on the vehicle. Since this was the initial cause of the issue I thought this would be a recall as well but the dealer said it was not and wanted to charge me for replacement of all four fuel injectors. I believe since this is the same issue in regards to safety that they should be covering this under warranty or forced/voluntary recall. I would like there to be an investigation into this issue since this seems like a design flaw from the manufacturer which when reading the fuel pump recall says "the fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash" which describes the ongoing issue I have with my vehicle after the safety recall was completed.
Earlier today I paid $2,605 to have 4 fuel injectors replaced on a 2018 (75,000 miles) Honda Fit at davis Honda in burlington new jersey. I see that earlier Honda Fits have a service bulletin/extended warranty on the fuel injectors that would have covered me [xxx] ). I also see that many of their other 2018 cars have service bulletins for similar fuel injector issues [xxx] ). It appears that this is a widespread issue that Honda should be addressing. Is there someone I could speak to about this? this is not Honda quality. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My vehicle has difficulty starting and sometimes won't even start at all, the motor is irregular/jumpy, and the check engine light and steering wheel light have come on. After getting a diagnostics run at autozone the computer indicates it's a fuel pump issue. A second opinion with a mechanic also confirmed it was the fuel pump. After further research I see that the 2019 Honda Fit had a recall for fuel pumps. However, my specific VIN does not qualify for a recall. Honda needs to further investigate and expand the number of vehicles that were affected by this faulty fuel pump. I've been left stranded numerous times and fear that the vehicle may stall while driving, putting myself and other drivers on the road at risk.
The fuel pump is malfunctioning. The car struggles to start and when it does start the engine is erratic and the check engine light and steering wheel light come one. I’ve taken the car to autozone for a diagnostic test and the computer showed it was a fuel pump issue. I got a second opinion with a mechanic who confirmed the same thing. The car has left me stranded multiple times when it doesn’t start and I fear that the car my stall while driving putting me and other drivers at risk. I researched my issue and there is indeed a recall out for faulty fuel pumps for the Honda Fit 2019. However, my specific VIN number does not qualify for the recall. Honda needs to investigate and expand the number of vehicles that were impacted. Clearly my vehicle is suffering from the same issue and I can’t get it fixed at the dealership due to my VIN not qualifying.
Fuel gauge on my 2020 Honda Fit lx sometimes goes blank or weird graphics under colder temperatures at start up. Doesn't seem to do it all time though ,especially in warmer weather that I've seen. Seems like when the car warms up, it returns to normal. Have around 42000 miles on it now. I haven't taken it in to my Honda dealer yet for inspection. I believe it maybe a circuit board behind the dashboard after watching a you tube video of someone pulling his out and soldering a spot behind the gauge. He seemed to fix it. Puts the driver at risk if he doesn't know if he has gas in the car! no warnings have ever came on either. Other owners have complained on this to. My car has never been in a wreck either. Hardly drive it. Past my warranty to.

All warning lights cycle through on vehicle dashboard after turning on vehicle. Vehicle was taken to Honda auto service center, where issue is diagnosed as carbon buildup, causing misfires. Error diagnostic code is one of p0300 - p0304. After maintenance, error clears out. However, there is a Honda service bulletin 23-042 which provides a warranty extension for Honda Fits of the same year, make, and model with the same issue, which my vehicle's VIN was not included as eligible. Issue of carbon buildup causing misfires may apply to other VIN ranges than in that bulletin, as accounted by NHTSA id #11462041, #11490506, #11549767, and #11593466.
The check engine light came on. The vehicle was shaking/sputtering when idling. We took it into the dealership and they said we needed to replace the fuel injectors, despite the vehicle not even having 60,000 miles on it.
Honda is not replacing the fuel pump on these vehicles. They are stating that the fuel pump has to fail before they replace it. If the fuel pump fails while someone is driving on the highway, there is a strong likelihood that they could crash. Honda has sent out recall flyers to take your vehicle to any local dealer and they will replace it for free. I have called every dealership within 50 miles of the d. C. Area and none will replace the recalled fuel pump until the car breaks down.
After replacing fuel injectors recently I have no warning lights on but the car has been stalling and pulling. Today on the freeway as I attempted to accelerate from 30 mph my car jerked and pulled 3 times harshly almost causing an accident. Still no warning lights and this has happened multiple times. I have submitted a prior concern and it has not been addressed and the problem only continues and has gotten worse.

Recall 23v-858 issued nearly 1 year ago. Honda notified that parts were available to those not currently experiencing direct fuel pump issues in September of 2024. Dealership was contacted in early October, late October, and mid-November but repeatedly claims that parts are not available. Although I was added to a waitlist, no indication of parts availability to remedy the recall has been provided.
Four dashboard warning signs (check engine light, tire pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability assist system, electric power steering) appeared all at once suddenly. I had the vehicle towed to my local Honda dealership. They gave me a diagnostic code of p0304 and insisted that the repair did not fall under my car's active warranty. I searched the web and found it is a common problem in Honda Fits. Some 2019 Honda Fits have an extended warranty for fuel injection replacement, but it is not applicable to my car for an unknown reason. Relevant service bulletins: 23-042 and 21-007.

I took in my car for the fuel pump recall on October 4th at clawson Honda fresno. I took it home the same day and the next day my car was stalling and shut off on me. I took my car back to clawson Honda on October 8th and they scanned it and said the fuel pressure was low. They cleared the codes that they claimed were unrelated to the recall and wanted to charge me 390 for diagnostics. I refused. My car is still stalling in the road and many of the dash lights come on. The car wont let me accelerate. I took it back to clawson Honda October 30th because this issue was not present prior to the recall. We just received a call that the fuel pump that was replaced is making the other components work harder which is causing it to stall. This is all clearly caused by the recall but they want me to pay 1500 out of pocket to have it fixed. Which is unfair. I submitted a complaint to Honda corporate but they still say we have to pay dealership fees. My car was working fine before the recall and im frustrated that it was returned to me in worse condition. This was all because of the recall fuel pump and the issues are all connected so I shouldnt have to pay.
Honda placed a recall for the fuel pump on my vehicle and did not notify me. I was notified by my insurance. I have had many issues caused by or related to this recall that they have refused to fix or remedy. They want me to pay out of pocket and they have completely delayed fixing my recall. They tell me the part is unavailable and they will call when available and then tell me they still don’t have it after 90+ days. They are refusing to replace the catalytic converter even though that’s the error code coming up and I am under the federal warranty for it. They are trying to charge me to fix my fuel injectors for the second time in less than a year and won’t cover the cost even though it could be a direct connection to a faulty fuel pump.
There is a carbon build-up in the engine causing for a misfire in the engine cylinders.
The car will stall while on the freeway. Had fuel injectors replaced and still does not drive well. I am now being told I may have to look at the fuel pump which should be working automatically. I have now invested almost 3,000 on a car with less than 90,000 miles on it that is maintained religiously so that nothing happens to it.
Fuel injector failed and sluggish drive.
We just had the fuel injectors fail for the 2nd time on this car, which has about 85,000 miles on it. The fuel injectors were originally replaced in 2021 by the dealer and have once again failed according to the dealer’s diagnosis. Honda America’s extended warranty for some Fits for this same issue needs to be extended to other model years. It is unreasonable to have to replace fuel injectors twice within this short of a time span.
The fuel gauge, odometer went blank. Im afraid of be stranded o have in accident . Was taken to burne Honda scranton. The problem wasn’t resolved.
All four fuel injectors have failed. Car only has 42,500 miles. Known issue and recall already in effect for previous years of same make and model.
7/14/24 this scenario has happened previously. The first time the engine light, steering light, tire light have come on and remained on. Driving around 65 mph the car judders, loses power, & engine light flashes. Thankfully, there was a shoulder to pull over onto because the ability to maintain speed is lost. Also, the highway I was on has extremely busy portions without any shoulder, so the situation could have been much worse. With traffic all around, I have to put on hazard lights and pull over onto a shoulder filled with tons of debris, which I then got a flat tire, which I then I had to change in the side of the highway. The immediate loss of power and subsequent events is extremely dangerous. The vehicle is well maintained. When taken for diagnosis shops have referred me to the dealer. I’ve called Honda America customer service and am also referred to the dealer. Dealerships are extremely difficult, expensive, & unreliable. Through research I’ve found fuel injector and carbon buildup issues that may be the cause, which of course can cause damage of the engine and catalytic converter. The cost of these repairs is very high. Therefore, I am unable to use a basic economical vehicle I purchased out of necessity, which I can barely afford already, and has now become much more expensive due to major repairs that are needed but incomplete due to lack of funds. If I try to drive it I become a potential hazard on the road. This seems like a manufacturing defect if it is an injector issue. If it is carbon buildup on the intake valves it requires an expensive service not disclosed at purchase in the owners manual, which seems dishonest and deceptive. The private shops I’ve been to have diagnosed the issue as faulty fuel injectors, catalytic converter, or unsure. Honda says go to the dealership, yet without any assistance from Honda they will require a diagnostic fee of around $200 and will require expensive out-of-pocket repairs of a likely Honda defect.
Misfire codes that indicate a bad fuel injection system, including issues with previous models for the same issue. My car was running very roughly and stuttering at high speeds. An independent garage confirmed that the car had bad fuel injectors at only 80,000 miles and it cost $950 to fix. I had 6 check engine lights appear from this issue. Honda refuses to acknowledge or do anything about it.
I received notification of a recall regarding the fuel pump on my 2018 Honda Fit. Now, six months later, I contacted my local dealership to get other work done and asked, again, for the recall work to be done. Honda refuses to do the work or even tell me when it will be able to do the work on my car to correct the problem. I use my car every day for my work, and I am increasingly concerned that my car will fail, leaving me unable to work without the added expense of getting a rental car. Six months should be plenty of time to, at the very least, figure out when they will be able to do the work.
American Honda and its dealerships refuse to fix my vehicle. My vehicle has been inoperable since 2023. I have reported this gross discrimination / retaliation to your office multiple times. I am submitting another report given the new recall states that the previous recall regarding my electrical system did not correct the issues. American Honda (mario and his manager, jennifer) have refused to escalate my case #13785319 to their legal department. I am a person with disabilities and have requested reasonable accommodations from both american Honda and Honda of covington. To date, they both have retaliated, discriminated, bullied and stalked me (via internet and in person in April 2024). My vehicle has been inoperable since 2023. I have not been provided any reimbursement. This is my corporate vehicle. I have been unable to work because of Honda and its dealership's negligence. I have called Honda corporate multiple times and they refuse to escalate my case to legal. On June 21, 2024, their customer service representatives hung up on me when trying to explain the urgency. The representative that hung up on me was analycia. Today, June 24, 2024, I spoke with alfredo. Alfredo refused to escalate my case to legal.
Multiple warning lights came on at the same time. Obd reader showed code 0302 (cylinder 2 misfire). Dealer performed warranty extension program to media blast the inlet valves. This was unsuccessful and the dealer now suggests that all 4 fuel injectors need replacing. The car has recorded 45k miles since new in 2018.
Fuel injector is going bad on my car at 80,000 miles causing catalytic converter to go bad based on two check engine codes. Recall done on 2015-2016 models so hoping this could be extended to 2019 as it seems they haven’t fixed the issue.
Fuel injectors failed. Check engine light suddenly came on. There was fuel in the oil, putting safety at risk. Problem confirmed by a private auto service center. Had to replace fuel injectors and fuel joint pipe. The warranty on fuel injectors has been extended for 2015-2016 Honda Fits. Please help this get extended to the 2017 Honda Fit because it is the same part and the same problem.
Vehicle had entire dash warning lights appear suddenly and had noticed a week prior a vibration/clicking when driving at higher speeds over 50mph. Took to dealer and was told vehicle has had misfires and fuel system was badly dirty and needed an immediate cleaning. Why are the 2020 Fit’s not included in the extended warrant on this as the 2018-2019’s are?.
Car is not running properly. Idling very poorly. Check engine light is on. Check engine light code is p0300, p0301, p0304. Honda has issued extended warranty for the same make/model(2018 Honda Fit). My car's VIN is not included. Spoke with Honda corporate. No explanation for this.
