4 Visibility problem of the 2008 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 12/13/2010

I own a 2008 Honda Fit. Approximately one year ago - in the winter of 2009 my car started to get a moldy musk smell. I've noticed that the smell is much stronger after it rains or snows. Yesterday I went to get in my car and all of the windows were fogged up, and I hadn't used the car in many hours. I am in the process of replacing the rubber molding on all of the doors to try and stop the leaking, but I've been waiting to try and get some help from Honda. I am very concerned about mold growing and causing health problems. I've researched a few blogs and have many other Fit owners who are having the same problem.

6 Visibility problem of the 2009 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 05/14/2010

This complaint regards a 2009 Honda Fit that we have/had owned for a little over one year. Last Saturday, when my husband was turning left into our driveway, and so was going quite slow, he turned into a person who was coming straight toward him on the other side of the road. She was approaching by coming up a moderate incline, but well noticeable by any other car that I have driven. We have owned this property for over 30 years and there has been no other trouble in this vicinity. I have been very leery of driving the Fit since a few days after purchase because of the blind spots that I noticed when driving the car. The same kind of accident has almost happened to me and to my husband several other times with this car, the 2009 Honda Fit, since our ownership of it. The major problem has been the a-pillars in the large front window. The first time that I noticed it was a few days after ownership in 2009, a person stepped off a curb as I was turning, and I did not initially see him. Fortunately, I did see him as the car moved and the blind spot was no longer impeding my view. Unfortunately for my husband, when he turned last Saturday there was a significant accident with hopefully minor injuries, and the Fit was totaled by the insurance company. The other driver involved also sustained significant damage and was taken to the hospital to be checked for injury. There is no way for us to correct this problem, but I hope that someone will take a look at this issue so that injury and damage and possibly, death, can be avoided for others. Except for this significant safety problem, the car Fit our lifestyle perfectly, but I will never own another as long as this problem persists.

7 Visibility problem of the 2007 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 02/20/2010

2007 Honda Fit. Washed the car, started the car and noticed a sizzle noise coming front the area of the switches on the door. Turned ignition off for two minutes and started the car again with a sizzle noise coming from the door switches again. Started the car one hour later, no sizzle noise, rolled the window down 3", in about 30 to 60 seconds the window rolled itself back up.

8 Visibility problem of the 2007 Honda FIT

Failure Date: 11/14/2008

The a pillar is very wide and can easily obstruct the view of 1-2 people walking across the street. I am a 4'11" driver, who drives slowly and carefully and have almost hit several pedestrians who were walking across the street as I was crossing through an intersection due to complete visual obstruction of them due to the a-pillars on both the driver's side and the passenger side. If I raise myself up using a cushion on the seat and subsequently raise the steering wheel up to allow for my legs to pass under it, then the steering wheel obstructs the view of the speedometer. I would like to see either a more adjustable seat or a change in position of the a pillar to allow for better vision for a short driver in this car. Unfortunately, I think I'll have to sell this car in order to not run the risk of hitting a pedestrian.
