1 Door problem

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the front driver's door failed to open. The contact rolled the window down and attempted to open the door from the outside handle while within the vehicle, but the door still failed to open. The contact had to use the front passenger door to exit and enter the vehicle. The contact also stated that the lock would turn when the key was inserted into the door, but the door would not open. The contact attempted to remove the driver's side interior door panel, but was unsuccessful. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (pearson Honda, 14001 hull street rd, midlothian, va, 23112), but they were unable to remove the panel and asked for permission to possibly damage the panel, but at the expense of the contact. The contact did not authorize the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

2 Door problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2015

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the driver and passenger side sliding doors would not open manually nor automatically. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 134,000.

3 Door problem

My 4 year old son was sitting in his car seat with his had on the side of the back panel when the sliding electric door closed on his hand. The door completely closed on his hand and did not reopen easily. A lot of force was used to re-open the door. The sensor for the door did not work.

Failure Date: 07/08/2010

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey. The contact was driving approximately 35-40 mph, when the vehicle stability assist system activation indicator and vehicle stability assist system indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on two occasions where the computerized system code was reset. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on a third occasion and the yaw sensor was replaced. The failure continued after the repairs were performed. The contact was in the process of taking the vehicle back to the dealer to be repaired. In addition, the passenger side automatic door failed to release. The vehicle was repaired for the malfunction. Also, the front passenger side axle and struts were replaced. The failure mileage was 31,253.

5 Door problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2010

My niece, age 5, reached for her seatbelt as the door was closing and her hand was crushed between the door and the vehicle. There are sensors on the front side of the door, but it seems that there are no sensors on the back side of the door (where the seatbelt is located).

6 Door problem

Failure Date: 12/11/2009

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while removing items from the vehicle the sliding door began to close on its own, closing her in the door. She suffered contusions as a result of the failure. She took the vehicle to the dealer but the dealer could not duplicate the failure. She has not contacted the manufacturer. The vehicle has not been repaired. The current mileage was approximately 56,800. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

7 Door problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2009

The contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the right automatic passenger side sliding door wouldn't close automatically. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic who advised her that they had to cut the wire in order for it to close. The vehicle was repaired; however, she had to open and close it manually. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000. The VIN was unavailable.
