Right slide door problem on dashboard. Continues to beep and blink right slide door problem while driving. The door will not open when stopped and in park.
I was commuting home, about 30 minutes into the drive, all of the dashboard and radio went blank for a few seconds. It came back on and the break light, anit-collision, lane departure, lights were all flashing. It did this 2 more times in the over the next 5 minutes. I was concerned for my safety because I wasn't sure if my breaks and all the other things were working propoerly. I didn't know how fast I was going or if my car was going to stall on the highway. I see that a recall was issued by Honda yesertday, not for my car model, but a similar issue (a software bug can cause the instrument panel and rear-view camera to go blank). It has not yet been inspected by a repair person. There wre not any warning lights prior to this happening.
The driver-side power sliding door latch, motor and cable system on my 2019 Honda Odyssey elite failed. Honda performed recall a88 (sliding door handle cable repair) in 2021. After this repair the door began intermittently failing to close fully and would close about 80% before the sensor triggered it to reopen. This continued until this week when the door suddenly stopped latching completely. The automatic door buttons no longer work and the door can only be moved manually. I believe my vehicle should also be included in recalls z33 and o36 addressing sliding door latch failures affecting similar 2019 Odyssey vehicles. The failed components are available for inspection upon request. This defect creates a serious passenger safety hazard. Because the door will not latch, it opens while driving. The automatic function does not work and the door can be moved manually but will not latch. This creates risk of passenger ejection, especially children, and the possibility of the door opening during a crash. The vehicle is unsafe to operate. Yes. The failure was reproduced and confirmed by a Honda dealership that inspected and diagnosed the sliding door failure. The vehicle was inspected by a Honda dealership and I was charged a diagnostic fee. Honda refused recall or goodwill coverage because my VIN is not included. I request the repair be performed free under recalls z33 and o36 and the diagnostic fee reimbursed. I am waiting for NHTSA inspection and request Honda be required to include my vehicle and repair it at no cost. Before total failure the door would close about 80% and automatically reopen. When it stopped working this week, the dashboard displayed a “left sliding door problem” warning and the vehicle produced continuous beeping while driving.
The sunroof/moon roof glass suddenly popped and exploded. No debris of any kind or any car was near me. My car was alone. The roof spontaneously made a “pop” sound and exploded. I’m lucky I wasn’t killed, injured, or in an accident. Glass that explodes and shatters can cause serious harm. There is obviously some sort of defect in Honda’s sunroof glass. Please investigate this thoroughly.
As I was driving the car computer showed overheating, brake failure, transmission failure and the car started shaking and the engine died. I had the car towed by triple aaa to a auto repair shop, but the next day when they went to fix the problem could not replicate it.
The computer system for the sliding doors and back hatch do not work properly. They will occasionally stop working or will stop mid-open or close. In addition, on three separate occasions the sensors did not work. One time the back hatch started to close while I was getting something out of the trunk. It did not sense by body and would not stop. I tried to stop it physically but the hatch continued to close. If I had not gotten out of the way, it would have crushed me. This happened to my husband on a separate occasion as well. He is athletic - [xxx} and [xxx] and was pushing up with all of his strength and the hatch continued to close on him before he had to jump out of the way. On the third occasion - the sliding side door started to close on my [xxx] as I was helping him into his car seat. This issue will kill someone. The 2019 Honda Odysseys need to be recalled immediately. I alerted my local Honda service center (don jacobs in lexington, ky). I asked them to notify Honda and they told me they wouldn't do that unless more people had similar issues. They have attempted to fix the computer system on several occasions and always say the issue is fixed. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Reporting a failure of safety recall 23-046 / NHTSA campaign 23v431000 on us vehicle. Post-recall 'remedy,' the vehicle suffers with the same most network error and from severe parasitic battery drain as described in Honda service bulletin 23-061. This led to a total electrical failure and vehicle grounding in -24°c temperatures. This systemic most bus network defect was previously the subject of the conti v. American Honda (2:19-cv-02160) settlement. The vehicle is currently grounded at a dealership in canada, and Honda canada refuses to acknowledge the failure of the recall remedy or the resulting consequential damages (battery/starter failure). I am filing this to report an ineffective recall remedy on a us-certified vehicle. I have tried establishing contact with Honda us however there has been no response from them.
Today ( Dec 30, 2025) . My wife was driving my Honda Odyssey on highway 287 east NJ ( closed to livingston NJ ) . Here is the whole thing : the Odyssey suddenly stopped while my wife was downshifting. At that time, there was a car in front of our car at least 30 feet away. Once the car stopped almost completely. Some red warning letters were shown on the front dashboard. But since we all filled in in a big panic, no one saw what those words were. At that time, we felt the minivan vibrating. That is all we could recall since we were still trying to calm down. I am not sure it was still the same problem with the transmission we reported months ago. That is the whole store for today. And I also attached the last note I sent to you. Hi , to whom it might concern, to further the conversation, we had talked with the local Honda dealer, and they had test-driven it several times, but they insist there are no problems at all. They suggested that we replace the transmission fluid to improve the performance. We replaced it in the dealer store. But from the fall of this year, 2025. We feel the Odyssey has the same problems again : 1. The vehicle struggles to accelerate quickly when the accelerator is pressed. 2. The vehicle accelerates, but there is a noticeable jerking sensation. 3. After pressing the accelerator, the engine rpm increases significantly (the engine noise also grows louder), but the car itself does not accelerate immediately. It takes several seconds before any noticeable increase in speed occurs. I checked online I noticed that in some cases, some Odysseys stop on the highway and cause some injuries, which is terribly I also sent a note to Honda USA, and I got a reply, but it is useless. I do not know what I can do. I saw there was some recall (due to the transmission) on othe dyssey touring model and elite models, but I wonder if there is any recall on my Odyssey ex-l model.
Our front camera on windshield failed at 96k miles, causing all lights to come on the dash. This resulted in all safety features failed and even basic cruise control doesnt work. Lots of Honda owners have same issues and the result is that it is a failed front camera which could cost around 2k to replace. There is no other way around it. It is found out that the camera could over heat leading to failure. This issue should be a recall because it is a safety concern. Could you please look into it? thank you for your time.
Right sliding door will not open or close automatically. It beeps and warning light “right sliding door problem” displays. Door has to be manually opened or closed by using the exterior handle. There is resistance when trying to manually close the door and it won’t fully latch.
While driving down the road way the collision mitigation warning failure flashed and then pulled the steering wheel pulled me off the roadway and nearly caused me to crash.
Driver side sliding door will not open in freezing/cold temperatures. It tries to open, sometimes halfway and then closes. It also fails to latch sometimes when reclosing. This happened January 2025 and again December 2025. Dealer wants us to replace motor/cables and rear latch. Rear latch has been recalled on 2019 Odysseys but they say our VIN is not included. This door has been problematic since purchasing vehicle.
The power sliding door on the driver’s side failed and will not open, even manually. The mechanism engages and stops after about an inch. This creates a significant safety risk because passengers cannot exit through the door in an emergency. This appears to be a widespread defect in 2018–2020 Honda Odyssey models. Repair cost is approximately $1,000. Honda needs to address this as a safety issue.
On 10/4/2025, I was driving with my family on a single lane road around 7:30pm. The van automatically went into neutral "n" gear and there was a message displayed on the dashboard saying it is not safe to drive and asking me to pull over when it is safe to do so. Pressing the gas pedal didn't do anything. Eventually the car came to a stop. The car wouldn't allow me to shift the gear to d or p. A cop who was driving by, saw my situation and nudged the car to the side of the road because it was blocking other traffic. I turned off the car and waited for 5 minutes. Turned the car back on. This time the message displayed as "emission system problem". I was able to drive the van normally for another 30 miles to get back home. There was no obvious mechanical issues either before or after the car went to neutral. On Monday, I took the car to a Honda dealership. While driving there, the car still had "emission system problem" error. As soon as the person in the dealership turned on the car to get the mileage, the dashboard message went away. They did a diagnostic and said that they got a p0810 code. They reset the code and drove it for 10 miles trying to reproduce the issue. They couldn't reproduce it. I have driven the car for more than a week and I don't have the problem. However, a car automatically going into neutral while still driving on the road, seems to be a very dangerous issue. Please investigate this issue.
Please failure of windshield camera 36160 thr a11 has malfunctioned idas.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? passenger side sliding door not functioning while vehicle turn on. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? passenger on my vehicle can't exit out the vehicle in case of emergency. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? none. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? none. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? none.
On our 2019 Honda Odyssey the passenger sliding door is failing to latch closed and stay closed or locked. The door is popped out in the back because the latch mechanism will not engage and electronically lock as part of the normal closing sequence like the other door. From what I can tell, this is the same issue reported in service bulletin 18-128, however when I called Honda about it, they said my VIN was not included in that recall. I am concerned because it seems like the same problem and it creates an unsafe situation where the door is not fully latching, even when manually closing the door and trying to lock it. I can hear excessive noise from that side of the vehicle, and the warning message flashed saying there is an issue with the right side sliding door, and the dome lights come on with an audible warning tone. I am unable to put passengers in the back of the van and needed to be very careful when driving it to the dealership for diagnosis yesterday. I'm still waiting to hear from them. I think this issue should be covered under recall work, since it seem like it is the same issue described in the service bulletin 18-128.
My foward facing multipurpose camera quit work causing all my adas systems to suddenly stop working. While researching the issue I found alot of people are having this issue per the Honda Odyssey online forums. And staff at the local Honda dealer that repaired system for over 2500. 00 stated that he has seen an increase in this issue with the camera system. My car was no longer cover under warranty and the extended warranty I purchased refused to cover said repair. Just thought maybe Honda has a issue with the camera and maybe should find a fix and do a recall before this failure causes an accident.
Service engine light has been lit up and it says “emissions system problem”. I have had it tested at the shop and it states code p219a (air-fuel ratio variation of cylinder [bank 1, rear bank) which I am told has a warranty extension from Honda for 10 years or 150k miles. I am told my VIN does not quality. If other 2019 Odyssey’s have the same issue and qualify, why doesn’t mine? the fuel injectors are clogging and failing way too early for 66k miles. This has been going on for around 6 months safety concerns - potential engine failure, reduced performance, and increased emissions.
Was driving on my way to work and I heard a sharp sound while going up a hill. I then got warnings that said transmission issue, pull over immediately when safe and the car shifted itself into neutral. I was in the middle of traffic and lost all acceleration controls, while being forced out of the drive gear. I lost all speed and had to move through traffic and get to a side street. The same thing happened to me about a year and a half ago. It was covered by a warranty but I still was experiencing losses of car power or stalling.
Infotainment system failure which means I am unable to use the bacj up camera or the hands free link until I replace the entire infotainment center.
Upon coming to a complete stop on the freeway, the idle engine feature stopped the engine. Upon letting go of the gas, the engine wouldn't restart and the electrical systems in the car malfunctioned showing a restart of the car would be needed. After trying to restart the car, the engine wouldn't turn over. After pushing the off button and starting the car again, it finally restarted. This created a hazardous situation as there was the potential for the car behind us to rear end us since we were at a complete stop on the freeway. After the software update, this happened again at a right turn on a local street.
Collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) my 2019 Honda Odyssey slammed on the brakes while traveling 70+ mph on a clear freeway. There was no warning and nothing in the road. I have also had issues with the braking warning light flashing for no reason while traveling down the roadway. I called the Honda dealership and inquired about the braking issues and was told unfortunately it can happen, especially if I drive on windy roads.
When I start the vehicle, I consistently get warnings for acc problem, lake keep assist problem, collision mitigation problem, road departure mitigation problem, and auto high beam problem. This occurs every time I have driven the vehicle for the past week. From cursory research, this issue commonly appears to be related to a failure of the camera module located next to the rearview mirror.
My 2019 Honda Odyssey’s power liftgate control model failed due to water intrusion. My liftgate started to open and close while I was driving, would close on me while loading/unloading the trunk, and would also open while parked in parking lots nearly hitting passing vehicles. It is truly a huge safety concern. Once the old module was out, I found extensive corrosion and rust on the module and its housing. As well, the entire bracket inside of the vehicle is rusted. There appears to be a defect in the manufacturers body seams that is allowing water to enter.
The power sliding door on the passenger side failed to operate properly. After receiving a recall repair related to the sliding door, the door stopped functioning correctly, directly after I picked it up—it would not close or latch fully. The door assembly and motor mechanism are still on the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. 4-5 months later the driver side (same door) that was malfunctioning now will not close, I had to bring the car in for the 3rd time and they said the pinch sensor is bad and want $812 dollars to fix it. I have had the car from 2019 with no issues at all with the door. They claim it has nothing to do with the recall. I filed a goodwill form and they denied the claim. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the sliding door will not close or latch securely, which poses a safety risk while driving, especially with passengers or children in the vehicle. The malfunction could cause the door to open unexpectedly or prevent the vehicle from being secured properly. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes. The issue was first noticed immediately after the dealer performed the recall repair. I had to return the next day, and the dealer temporarily restored operation. However, the same issue reoccurred about four months later, and the door is now inoperable again. Yes. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Honda dealer both during and after the recall repair. No police or insurance inspection has been conducted. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared. The problem first appeared immediately after the recall service was completed.
My power liftgate ceased to open or close via any electronic means (button on dash, button on remote, tailgate left button on back of vehicle). The tailgate control module in the rear driver side panel was full of water when it was removed. The circuit board back side was covered with moisture damage which has shorted out the board.
We were stopped at a red light the auto start/stop was enabled and the car stopped. The car turned off when attempting to start and I had to power down the car, open the driver door to reset the system and get the car turned back on.
The power tailgate is not working, no fuse is blown, control model needs to be replaced, likely due to leak in back of car (happened after heavy rain). Looks like many owners of the same car have experienced the same issue.
When starting my van, I got warnings for acc, lane departure, and collision mitigation stating that the issues were broken. I received error code u3000-49 at the Honda repair dealer which stated the multipurpose camera no longer works. In doing my research, it appears this is a known issue that Honda is not taking responsibility for and charging $1,500 to $2,000 to repair. They state the car works fine other than having none of those safety features working.
I have had a recurring problem for years that the dealership has been unable to resolve. Occasionally while we are at a stop, and the engine auto off system kicks in, and then I tried to go again, the car stalls completely. Battery tests fine. It does not restart until sometimes after I open and close my driver side door a couple of times which I assume reboots the electrical system in some manner. The car then starts up again and is okay. This is extremely dangerous as it happens in the middle of driving down the road, and the dealership has been unable to identify a solution or what the real problem is.
Honda trunk area is soaking wet after raining, carpet is stinking like mold/mildew. From my research this is unfortunately a common problem and is not being addressed by Honda. This can cause major health problems for some, especially those who have certain respiratory diseases. Repair is pending on our van, but I feel we shouldn't be having to pay for a fix that should be being addressed already by Honda as multiple vehicles/vans are defective.
I have had the trunk struts and power module replaced twice due to water leaks into the compute module of my trunk. It has cost me headaches and thousand of dollars to have it fixed. This issue should be recalled to fix and for a reseal of the trunk. My dash has a power lift gate error show up and will not open anymore. Also it will not stay open as well and slowly just close itself.
After coming to a complete start at a stop light the engine failed to restart when I took my foot off the brake. Car turned off completely and I needed to push power button to restart car. This was very dangerous with the delay in getting car restarted in traffic. This has happened a number of times. I told the dealer and they told me it was user error.
Rear power tailgate module fried due to moisture intrusion. Trunk will not close. Lock stuck in closed position.
