While driving on the interstate, vehicle started to shudder and check engine indicator light started flashing. Exited the next exit and took took the van to the local mechanic shop the next morning. They replaced the spark plugs, due to being fouled, and also coil pack for cylinder 3, due to misfire code on cylinder 3. Within a month, the vehicle experienced the same shudder and flashing check engine indicator light. Took the van in to my mechanic and the code showed misfire on cylinder 3. He replaced the spark plug due to the fouling of the new plug and saved it for me to present to Honda. He also switched coil pack 2 with coil pack 3. He advised me of Honda technical service bulletin 13-081 and explained the build date of our Odyssey was listed as 08/13 and we should be included in the warranty extension that Honda was extending to the 11-13 models with the same exact issue as we were experiencing. I called the local Honda dealership and explained the circumstances and situation and the technician advised me our van was not covered under the warranty extension and as problems continued to arise to continue what we were doing and following recommendations of our mechanic (who has advised me to now get rid of vehicle due to Honda's position) and that in the technician's opinion fuel injectors would probably be the next course of action.
The check engine light started to blink and the vsa came on as well. This happened after I pulled into our driveway thank goodness because the engine started to shake the car. We took the van in our local dealership and it had a p0302 code. Engine misfire. This was caused by oil getting into the spark plug. Piston and ring job was recommended. The 2012 Honda had a TSB 11-033 for this issue. We are being denied our claim. I am including a picture of our spark plug that shows where there was a lot of oil when it was fired upon along with talks I have had with Honda.

Transmission is randomly slipping going 30 to 40 miles in traffic. Issue started around 15k miles, current miles is 30k miles. Since then, we have had this event for about 12 times in the lifetime we have owned this new vehicle. We have take our vehicle to surprise Honda dealer but unable to duplicate issue and do anything. During this event, vehicle will shake, make noise and stall. We have to go to the side of the road and restart engine. Lately, we have to restart engine 3 times in order to reset issue. We feel there is a highly safety concern with our vehicle issue since it stall between traffic.
As my wife was driving down the highway the vehicle stopped accelerating fluctuating rpms and acceleration for rest of drive home. After getting home even in parking at idle when I turn on the air conditioning the vehicle vibrates. In park when I turn up the rpms it sputters after about 3k rpm. 100k miles.
Vehicle vibrating while accelerating, replaced tires, brakes and checked everything else, but it is still vibrating specifically when accelerating.

I was driving in rush hour stop and go traffic and once I stopped and accelerated between 10 - 20 mph the car would make a loud clunking noise and the car would shake as if the car was slipping gears, and then would drive fine. Once I stopped again and accelerated it would do the same thing. It did this 6 times in a row so I pulled over and had it towed to the dealer. Dealer could not replicate issue, no codes or errors could be seen, and the car had the latest software update. I requested the dealer hold onto the car for two days to try and replicate the issue. Awaiting results.

Returning from short road trip (less than 30 miles from home), check engine light and tcs light came on. Drove vehicle straight to Honda dealership where it has been serviced for the last 8 yrs since we bought it. Code p0740 internal transmission failure. Attempted to drive vehicle to work the next day (5 miles from home), vehicle began shuddering, rpm gauge revved to 4,000rpm's yet vehicle was slowing. Could put pressure on gas pedal but car would not go. Couldn't reach any speed over 40mph. Vehicle violently downshifted and couldn't exceed 20mph on busy interstate. Barely reached work where vehicle rested. After resting, attempted to drive vehicle back home - had the same experience. Vehicle unable to move from driveway, transmission is not in working condition.

Van has a significant shake (or "judder", shudder, vibration, or shimmy) when accelerating between 50 and 75 mph. Entire vehicle shakes, similar to one or more tires being out of balance but much worse. Judder goes away completely and instantly when I take my foot off the accelerator. During this period I had three all-wheel alignments and several tire balancings, but nothing work. It was only recently when I noticed it only occurred while accelerating and so it wasn't a tire or alignment problem.
Vehicle shudders while accelerating and worse with turning left onto freeway onramps etc. Causes some difficulty steering and need to enter freeway at very slow speed disrupting traffic.

2005 Honda with 72k mi now exhibiting the classic "shuddering" issue. . . I. E. Between 30-35 and 40-45mph in eco mode. The car literally shakes during acceleration until 50mph. We also experience humming from the transmission. . Read more...
Car emits a grinding sound when throttle is in a cruise or slight accel position. Engine gets "stuck" at 1500 rpm's where it emits grinding sound the loudest. Can also feel it in the gas pedal. Normal sequence is this: 1) accel to ~40mph 2) once at steady state and in 4th gear, engine rpms will fall to 1500. 3) rpm will get "caught" at 1500, makes grinding sound 4) rpms might breakthrough 1500, pop up to 1800, and grinding noise will diminish. 5) rpms will then drop below 1500, then rise and get stuck at 1500 again along with infuriating noise and pedal vibration. Cycle is usually 5-10 seconds. Going slightly uphill makes it cycle more frequently. Going downhill doesn't make noise since trans is disengaged. It's also hard to tell if lower gears do the same thing because engine noise and vibration drown out grinding sound/feel. Other thoughts: - kind of sounds like a strong cross-wind (30+ mph) going across the windshield. - it also sounds similar to how a bad idler bearing on an ac compressor sounds. That kind of metallic grinding sound. - it's not the engine mounts (they've been replaced) - it's subtle and some people might not detect the sound.

Tl- the contact owns a 2003 Honda Odyssey. While driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle decelerated and the rpm reading increased. The vehicle began to shake. The engine and traction control warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The driver stopped the vehicle on the shoulder of the road. After restarting the vehicle the engine light remained on but the traction control light shut off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated the transmission would have to be replaced. The vehicle was included in the recall under NHTSA campaign id number: 04v176000 (power train:automatic transmission) and was repaired previously. The VIN was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000. Kmj.
The contact owns a 2009 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the vehicle vibrated and jerked abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis but the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the vehicle would shake excessively and would not accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The dealer informed the contact that there was an internal transmission failure and advised her to replace the transmission. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 91,155.
Wife was taking kids to an air show. While merging into traffic on i95 the car would not shift out of gear at 40 miles per hour. The car began to shake, shudder and produce loud noises. My wife had to pull the car out the traffic onto the side of the road. She was able to safely exit i95 at the next exit. Since then the car has been diagnosed with complete transmission failure.
Car shudders when shifting gears at lowers speeds(20-40).
2005 Honda transmission is failing at 60k miles. Some motor mounts were ruined from the shaking and needed to be replaced. The front axle has damage from the shaking as well. And I still need to replace the transmission. The gearing gets stuck shifting around 45 mph, it groans and shakes the car before finally shifting down a gear.
As soon as the transmission shifts to the second gear, the entire car will shudder. Same thing happens often on the third, fourth, and fifth. Another thing that happens on the transmission is that when it's in overdrive in the sixth gear, the rpm will jump about a hundred or two, up and down, randomely. When it's also in overdrive, it makes a weird noise. In the cabin, it sounds like an extreme wind noise, but you can tell that it's coming from the transmission because it happens everytime I give the car some gas. Some other people are also having the same problem as I'm having because people on the forum are complaining about the same issue.

Starting the vehicle up and trying to drive away it will jump out of first at which point the engine over revs. Must sit for a few seconds and it will "bang" into second gear shaking the entire vehicle. Driving down the road it will slip out of third gear at 55mph and then "bang" into 4th. This vehicle has had the transmission completely rebuilt four times since 07/01/2011. The second time for a rebuild was January 2012, then may 2012 and now it must go back a fourth time August 2012. On several occasions while pulling out into traffic the transmission has slipped out of gear and nearly caused accidents. This is a very dangerous vehicle that has a transmission that can not be repaired once it begins to fail. At highway speeds when trying pass another vehicle the transmission will stutter slip and "bang" into passing gear or slip out of gear and then re-engage in a lower gear preventing the over taking of the other vehicle. Another incident occurred on the expressway at 65mph I began smelling smoke and pulled off onto an exit ramp at which time the entire vehicle was engulfed in thick white smoke that smelled like burning transmission fluid. We had to exit the vehicle for fear of it being on fire.
At low speeds, approx. 20 to 40 mph, the vehicle has a shudder/rumble sensation thru the steering wheel and you can feel it whether you are driving or a passenger. This is an intermittent problem and does not do it all the time. I have never had the problem at speeds over 45 to 50 mph. I took it to a local Honda dealer and of course they could not duplicate the problem and told me a transmission fluid change was needed. I paid $225. For an oil change and tranny fluid change and a 'diagnostic test drive' it didn't fix the problem. Since that time of that repair, I have just lived with the problem and hoped for the best. It wasn't until I started reading online about how many other people are having the same problem with Odyssey minivans. I hope you can help me get this problem satisfactorily repaired from Honda. They are very well aware of this problem and apparently there was a recall on these minivans to fix this problem. I bought this minivan used from van's Honda in green bay, WI in April of 2007 and I am unaware if my van was recalled. It wasn't recalled as long as I have owned it.
Transmission problem, vehicle shuddering in between gear changes. 2005 Honda Odyssey, 58,000 miles. Needs a new transmission per repair shop and dealer. Appears there are numerous complaints on Honda transmissions from 2000 to 2010 Honda Odysseys. Will cost approximately $4800 to replace. No recall to date yet numerous complaints on the net.
Extreme pressure had to be applied to the brakes, in order to get the vehicle to slow down on a downhill road at the same time the clutch shuddered, it not only shuddered, but it made the entire vehicle shake and rattle as if it were falling apart. Scared to take the vehicle on long run. Also vehicle shakes sometimes during normal braking action.

The car shakes really bad at about 30-35 miles oer hour and also hessitates at times. You can feel the van shift very hard also.
Tcs light came on, throttle surges and whole vehicle shudders at about 15 mph under steady throttle. Transmission hesitates when placed in drive and slips when shifting.
At 7000 miles, the transmission made a very loud grinding and rattling noise, shaking the vehicle, when shifting from r to d. This was repeated at 25,000 miles several months after the software upgrade. In July of 2010, vehicle was brought in for memory steering, they replaced the right strut. November of 2010, the vehicle steering is unstable at low speeds when turning left. The sensation is either over-activity of the power steering pump or under-activity. Vehicle seems very unstable under low speed driving conditions, especially on bumpy roads. Vehicle taken to dealer, they could not identify anything abnormal.
While driving on a level and smooth road under light acceleration at around 40 mph, the vehicle began to shudder -- as if driving over a rough road. . Read more...
Vehicle vibrates while driving at low speed and engine rpm.
While driving my 2006 Honda Odyssey ex on slight slopes at approximately 25-35 mph under light acceleration, my vehicle begins to shudder strongly enough that I can feel it through the foot pedal and steering wheel. This happens frequently in my in-town driving following frequent stops, and continues for a few seconds until I increase speed and rpm. In the past two weeks, I have experienced a strong forward jolting motion when my vehicle downshifts as I am slowing behind other cars or as I am slowing to make a turn of my own. The jolt forward has been so strong that it feels like I'm hitting the accelerator, and I have had to brake hard to keep from overshooting my turn or rear ending the car in front of me.
I am the owner of a 2003 Honda Odyssey, which I purchased used in 9/08. I paid extra for the vehicle because of the "certified" guarantee from Honda. The car is very unsafe, I have my 3yr old and 5 yr old with me at all times; since I got the car, I am unable to drive beyond 52mph because the car shakes violently; steering wheel and the car. I am forced to drive below the speed limit, where cars aggressively drive up behind me to try and get me to drive faster. I have difficulty on long trips because it is difficult to keep the vehicle stable. I am a single mom and only have use of this vehicle and I have had no resolutions from the dealership nor an independent mechanic. Please help me and my children as I am very concerned for our safety. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Odyssey. While driving at approximately 40-50 mph, the contact stated that she heard a noise. The vehicle began to shake as if it were in the wrong gear. She noticed the problem each time the vehicle was driving between 40 and 50 mph. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership but the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000. The current mileage was 54,363.
