Two problems related to brake disc pads have been reported for the 1999 Honda Passport. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
1999 Honda Passport developed problems with the brake system. The consumer received the recall notice a year after it was originally issued ant took the vehicle to the dealer for repairs. Although the abs recall was completed the vehicle continued to have brake problems. While braking the consumer heard noise and the brake pedal went down to the floor. The vehicle was taken to another dealer who determined that he front and rear rotors and pads needed to be replaced.
While driving the abs light illuminated, the vehicle was immediately returned to the dealer where they replaced various electronic components related to the abs system, the rotors failed causing vibration when braking at any speed, the rear brake pads were worn substantially more than the front pads.
