Tl- the contact owns a 2002 Honda Passport. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph the vehicle experienced unintended accelerated. And the speed increased to approximately 80 mph causing the driver to loose control of the vehicle and drive into the guard rail. During the crash the front end sustained significant damage but the air bags did not deploy. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. While driving 55 mph, the driver applied the brakes and without warning the vehicle accelerated. The driver applied the brakes but failed. This caused the driver to collide with the vehicle in front. Upon, impact both frontal air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection.
