1 Speed Control Springs problem of the 2000 Honda Passport

Failure Date: 03/01/2005

When applying brakes on dry road surface abs would intermittently engage itself from 10-0 mph and cause the brakes to momentary lock up. The vehicle has been to the dealer on two separate occasions and they were unable to duplicate the problem. The consumer was concerned that this may cause a vehicle crash if this issue continued. When decreasing speed to 15 mph or lower the brake pedal would begin to push back and tremble. There would also be a spring like noise which would sound like the abs when engaged in winter driving conditions. The rear wipers were inoperative. Also when the defrost was on, the vehicle idle would go up extremely high, then drop, stall out and sometimes the abs would activate when driving conditions were normal.
