I have never been in an accident other than being rear ended and it was not major. My air bag light would not go out. My seat belt alarms would no longer work and my locks would not work automatically. My air bag module(srs unit) needed replaced. It effected my airbags, seat belts and my power locks. The dealership did not know that the locks could even be effected but as soon as is was replaced the locks worked as they did prior to the malfunction. I have had a couple mechanics tell me that the module should not ever go bad unless I have been in an accident.

2005 Honda Pilot, when I first start the car the in the morning the red indicator light for the seatbelt and airbag (drivers side airbag) on the dashboard comes on and stays on the entire day this includes stopping and turning off the engine, going into a store and coming back out, starting the engine again, continue driving for each day until I return back home. But at least two (2) days a month when I first start the car in the morning this same red indicator light on the dashboard stays off the entire day while driving the car. This includes stopping and turning off the engine, going into a store and coming back out and starting the engine again and continue driving for each day until I get back home. Each time the red indicator light is stays on or off for the day I drive my car I use city streets 25 mpr. And driving on the turnpike at 75 mph. This started in 2018.

Takata recall: when my vehicle is both stationary and in motion; the airbag light on the dashboard lights up. This has occurred consistently for the last 2 months. Took car to local Honda dealership which said it was an issue the driver side airbag. I called Honda and they said my vehicle had no recall for driver side. Only for the passenger side; which I had fixed after the recall in October 2016. All public data that I have seen suggests that the driver side airbag is an issue. But Honda will not replace at their cost. Very frustrated?.

I took my vehicle in for the airbag recall and was told that there would be a charge to fix it. The airbag light is now on and will not go off. I also keep getting calls from dealers wanting to buy my Honda.
My airbag light is on. I had airbags recall done and the mechanics state the light is not related nor do they have record of the recall repair being made. Because it is a red light, the sensor will need to be replaced @ $800 or it will not pass inspection. Just wanted to let people know in the event this happens to more people too. Just strange the service to airbags coresponds with this light. We also found a screw in driver side floorboard after the recall repair.
I was in the dealership for an airbag recall. They took care of the recal and charged me $114 to diagnose the air bag light. Turns out its the front airbag sensor. This seems to be a common problem looking on online posts. Im pretty upset with the fact I had to pay $114 to find this out. The dealership fixes the recall then says its gonna cost me $380 to do the airbag sensor! im strongly thinking of pursuing legal action against Honda for their failure to make my vehicle safe to drive. Letting me leave with a disabled airbag system and not even caring because they got paid!.

The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 179,000.

I brought my 2004 Honda Pilot to a authorized Honda dealership for the airbag recall and with 2 hours the airbag light came on. I told the vehicle back to the dealership and they told me my airbag unit had failed and needed to replaced for $800. The vehicle had no airbag issue until the takada cannister was replaced, which I understand the new unit is not compatable with the 2004 airbag control unit. Both the dealer and american Honda have denied any responsibility for the replacement of the unit and I have been driving my Honda Pilot for the last 2 months with my family with no operational airbag system! extremely unprofessional and unsafe!.
My airbag light is on. I took my Pilot in for the recall and assumed that would fix the problem. After I picked up my vehicle I noticed that the airbag light is still on. The mechanics failed to notify me of the problem and said this is not related to the recall. This makes no sense to me since my vehicle has never been in an accident.
My airbag light is on. I had airbags recall done and the mechanics state the light is not related. I just wanted to let people know incase this happening to more people too. I have to pay 500 dollars to fix the computer for airbags now. Just strange the service to airbags coresponds with this light.

Above vehicle was taken to dealership, yonkers Ave Honda,500 yonkers avenue, yonkers NY 10704 to have safety recall performed and other routine maintenance on 2/26/15. Dealership was unable to do takata airbag recall because it did not have the part and they would notify me when part was available. A day later my red airbag light comes on in my vehicle and stays on. I am the original owner of this vehicle and this airbag bag light has never stayed on. I believe that the dealership checked the airbag during maintenance to verify what model it was , this was communicated to me by a yonkers Honda employee. After numerous phone calls between myself and their service manager it was agreed that I leave my vehicle with yonkers Honda until they could perform the recall. Vehicle was left with them on 3/7/15 and Honda provided loaner vehicle. It was not until 4/16/15 that yonkers Honda completed recall and I could pick up vehicle. Five days later red airbag light comes on again and stays on. I return to yonkers Honda where they do a diagnostic check ant they tell me it could be a airbag sensor that is not working and they would fix it at cost to me. I refuse to pay for a problem that I believe started the day I left their dealership on 2/26/2015. The dealership brought the vehicle out and now the red airbag light is not on. They have no explanation for this. On 6/3/15 the red airbag light goes on and stays on . I have called Honda and they say that they did the recall and they are not responsible for any other problems. They refuse to correct the problem at their cost. I would ask for your assistance to resolve this matter, I do not feel safe driving this vehicle but I only have one car and feel that I am been given the run around by both the dealership and Honda the company.
Airbag light began coming on intermittently in November of 2014. When taken to the dealership to get checked out, we were informed that we needed to replace it. We were then informed that it is not covered under warranty and was not part of the recall of affected airbags. Additionally, it would cost $900+ to replace. I don't understand why the financial burden of an obvious defect is placed on the consumer rather than the manufacturer. There is no reason that a vehicle that has never been in an accident and is less than five years old should be having this problem. I am sure that we are not the only people having this problem. How many people have to get injured because they can't afford a $900 fix for a problem that they didn't create?.
Randomly, while driving the fasten seatbelt icon illuminates. All occupants of the car were restrained and no objects were placed on the seats. The right front passenger airbag "off" indicator light also activated. When the car was taken to the dealer and the problem could not be replicated. So no further investigation was done. It is undetermined if this would affect the functionality of the airbag system.
On 06/28/2014 the front passenger airbag sensor indicated that the airbag is off when a passenger is seated in the seat. My 12 yr old son (114 lbs. ) was the passenger at the time of failure. We have documented/photographed the airbag light initiating a sensor as being off while the seat has an occupant and while the vehicle is being driven. This constitutes a significant public safety hazard for all front seat passengers of 2013 Honda Pilot vehicles and any other Honda product that uses this same sensor. Findlay Honda, 7494 w azure dr, las vegas, nv 89130 , 702-982-4200. Findlay service has inspected the vehicle on 06/30/2014, they advised that they had reset the "circuits" to the airbags and that the vehicle was ready to drive. Our 2013 Honda Pilot manual indicates this sensor will turn off airbags if passenger is less than 65 lbs. My son is 114 lbs. When the airbag disarmed. We picked it up late on 06/30/2014 and discovered the same issue and left it at the dealer service again for review today, 07/01/2014. I brought my son in with me to findlay dealership service this morning to replicate the issue in front of findlay dealer two auto techs and service employee. The failure occurred again with my son in the seat again. I was just advised by findlay Honda service rep, doug grant on July 2, 2014 that his techs checked with Honda corporate who stated " anyone under 150 lbs. , seated in the front passenger seat may disable the sensor which will disable the front passenger seat airbag from deploying during a crash. Please investigate as this is a huge vehicle safety issue. We do not want to except this vehicle back to use as this is a unknown and undocumented discrepancy with Honda and its service and parts section.
With the srs indicator constantly on, the dealer has advised me that both front bumper crash sensors must be replaced. He mentioned that due to their position they have a tendency of rusting out. Sounds like a design deficiency.
