Recently my airbag light on the dash was not going off, took it in for a "$98. 90 diagnosis" for them to determine there is no signal from either impact sensor. This is a huge safety issue in my eyes and from what I have read many of these vehicles have had the same problem. I am being told it will cost me $477. 00 to fix this issue, $127 for parts and $350 for labor, I can't afford this right now. This is putting me and my family at risk. I am the original owner and haven't had an accident where the airbags have ever deployed, I hope I never do. You need to fix this Honda! make the right call and recall the 2005 Pilot for this issue please!.

We experienced a burning odor in the car cab, the air bag indicator lit and the a/c temperature rose to the outside air level. When taken to my car tech, he found that there was a fire on the right cabin wiring harness near where the harness enters the cabin. This fire burnt up all the wiring for several feet and disabled the a/c, front lights and air bag systems. If we had not caught this issue when we did, the engine could have had a fire even when not driving (I. E. In the garage at night). Our repairman also remarked that the airbags could have deployed at anytime when on the road. Obviously serious injury could have occurred! this was determined to be caused by a factory defect in manufacture. This problem was caused because the area of the engine where the wires passed through had rough edges resulting in wire fatigue and damage to the wire harness.

Air bag indicator light came on after starting vehicle and stayed on while driving. Light stayed on consistently for up to 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, light illumination was intermittent. Took the vehicle to the dealer and dealer diagnosed that the right front air bag sensor was bad and needed to be replaced at a cost of $345. Dealer indicated this was not covered under warranty for the life of the vehicle. Noticed there have been many complaints for this same issue for the 2005 Honda Pilot. Also noticed there was a recall for this issue on the 2005 Honda odyssey. Why is there not a recall for this issue on the 2005 Honda Pilot? a device critical to the overal safety system of the vehicle, which is not a wear item on the vehicle, should not fail. If it does, it should be replaced at no cost ot the consumer.
Tl- the contact owns a 2003 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number: 15v320000 (air bags) and NHTSA campaign number: 14v349000 (air bags) had exceeeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The dealer stated the parts were not available for repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the delay. The vehicle could not be repaired. The contact stated intermittenly the air bag light would intermittenly illuminate on his instrumental panel. The failure mileage was 100 miles. Az.

My air bag light was on and I was not able to get an inspection sticker. I brought it to the Honda dealer in seekonk, MA to find out what was wrong and they said it was a sensor that needed to be replaced and cost $450. 00. I would think since this is a safety issue there was some recall ? they told me if I was hit on the left side of my car the airbag would not work. Not to mention I have already had to replace the engine in 2009! the car was only 4 years old.
Srs indicator illuminates periodically for no obvious reason. Dealership read code 92-20 open/short in passenger airbag cutoff circuit; stated could be interference with ac inverter but don't use that in vehicle; did not attempt to fix the problem, sent me back home to monitor if it happened again. With nothing in passenger seat, srs illuminates as well as with items in seat. As of 11/26/12, illuminated steadily for multiple trips (usually does not illuminate on every road trip). Honda defaults to no airbag deployment if srs indicator is illuminated, so I am driving with no active airbags and two children with me in the car.
The contact owns a 2004 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that after starting the ignition, the air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously. The failure occurred whenever the engine was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the srs air bag control unit would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000.

While driving, airbag, (!), vsa, vtc and brake lights all lit up. Horn stopped working as did all controls from steering wheel (cruise, radio airbag light). I pulled over, everything seemed to work but lights would not turn off. Went to Honda in ft pierce, FL. Was told it's probably a low battery. Replaced battery, lights all stayed on. Contacted johnston Honda in stuart, FL. Head mechanic told me he had no idea what would cause this and if he ran it on diagnostics, it could take 8 hours at $80 an hour and he still may not find the problem. Brought this lemon to local mechanic who ran on diagnostics for 2 hours. Could not find problem so he did not charge. As almost all other complaints above, while driving at 35 to 40 the car starts to shudder as though it will turn off. Was told it's possibly defective motor mounts. I have contacted american Honda motor works in California with these issues and they essentially told me to 'gfy'. Stated car is not their problem.
Srs indicator light will not go out. Reset mes - and cleared memory. Srs light still active. Mechanic found problem with front airbag sensor. Luckily no incident at this time, but can't find warranty coverage data?! or recall despite numerous complaints like this!.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Pilot. While driving approximately 50 mph, the air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously. The failure recurred on several occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 32,731.
I drive a 2005 Honda Pilot. My safety restraint indicator light came on a few days ago. Upon checking with the dealer, the system airbag contacts were found to be defective and need to be replaced. Thankfully, I have an extended warranty that covers repair, which is costly. My colleague also drives a 2005 Honda (element) and had the same indicator light come on within two days of mine. He doesn't have an extended warrranty. The coincidence is too much. There must be something wrong with the safety restraints on 2005 Hondas. Others must be experiencing similar issues.
Airbag light keep on after the car start up. 2008 Honda Pilot. No accident involved. Honda said a control module need to be replaced.

Srs airbag light came on my 2005 Honda Pilot for no apparent reason.
On evening of 3-25-07, airbag light came on. 3-27-07, went to dealer -computer out. Part ordered-to be in 3/29. Come pick up car. Did so - drove in fear. 3/29- part not in until 4/3. Told no rental car as car is drivable (under warranty). Called national/zone - agreed with this. Told car is drivable. Would not tell me car is safe but that is Honda's policy. That if the car is drivable - they do not give a rental. So- to me - Honda is saying my life and that of my family is not their problem and it's up to me to get a rental. The car is drivable but not safe and possibly dangerous. I am the medical provider for a large brain injury rehab facility. I don't want to have more clients due to Honda's policy!!! if the car is unsafe or dangerous - it is not drivable!!!! a rental car should be supplied. I would like to see Honda held accountable for their policy and feel that it goes against NHTSA beliefs. Airbags are their for a reason but Honda doesn't feel they are necessary.
The contact owns a 2003 Honda Pilot. The contact stated the air bag light remained illuminated and the transmission would not shift into second gear. The manufacturer advised that the air bag and the transmission recall were performed on the vehicle and the vehicle should be taken back to the dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 149,000.
Vehicle srs airbag light came on while driving in extreme cold weather, rear wipers also stop functioning at the same time.
The air bag light constantly stayed on.
