Software Problems of Honda Pilot

2016 Honda Pilot elite- consumer is writing to about the exceptional service provided at the motor company after a software update. After the motor company installed TSB 23-0087, pgm-fi idle stop software update on the consumers vehicle, the vehicle had problems with idle stopping and no auto or cold restart. Consumer lodged a complaint with the motor company. Motor company reached out to the consumer in reference to the issue. Consumer states the motor company went "above & beyond" to fix and assist & fix the issue. Consumer greatly appreciates everything and thinks highly of the motor company "top notch" and thank you.

The contact owned a 2003 Honda Pilot. The contact stated she was informed by her daughter that the inside passenger side of the vehicle was on fire. The contact extinguished the fire with water. The fire department arrived afterward and informed the electronic software was the cause of the fire. The contact was unsure if a fire report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. There were no injuries or medical treatments needed. The contact notified a local mechanic regarding the failure and was informed of the same information which the fire department provided. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.

2019 Honda Pilot SUV. Consumer writes in regard to NHTSA recall number 20v-439 and 20v440, software programming errors-rear view camera image may not display. The consumer stated as a result of the camera image not being displayed, the consumer hit and damaged the side rearview mirror. The manufacturer was notified and declined to offer any assistance.
