1 Body problem of the 2025 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 04/16/2026

I recently purchased a certified pre-owned 2025 Honda Ridgeline with 5000 miles, and within just one week of ownership, the carpet under the rear seat is completely soaked with water, clearly indicating an active leak inside the cabin. After looking into it further, I’ve also seen that water intrusion has been reported as a recurring issue with Ridgelines.

2 Body problem of the 2007 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 12/29/2025

Frame has rusted out so bad walmart says it can’t be put on lift to rotate tires. Not yet reported to dealer or inspected by dealer. This is a recall problem but my vehicle was not included. It was previously registered in north carolina and tennessee where salt is used on roads.

5 Body problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 08/04/2025

I just purchased a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. When driving I noticed the hood vibrating or shaking. I checked to ensure it was closed all the way, and it was. When I did research, I found there is a safety recall for this exact issue, and the year, make and model of my truck falls into the affected years. However, when I look up my VIN, it does not comeback with the recall authorization. Please advise. The recall number 21v932.

6 Body problem of the 2013 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/17/2025

The rear crossmember of the Honda Ridgeline 2013 rtl where the trailer hitch is attached is rusted through which could break when towing or driving causing an accident. I think Honda should weld a plate onto the crossmember beam and undercoat it. Thank you.

7 Body problem of the 2007 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/02/2025

The car is rusting away. Tire dealer cant put it on as lift.

8 Body problem of the 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/11/2025

Recall was initiated because salt used on roads during winter could accumulate along the rear frame, where the fuel tank is mounted, causing corrosion and potentially leading to the fuel tank becoming unsecured. Affected vehicles: the recall covers 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline pickup trucks that were sold or ever registered in the salt-belt region. Salt-belt states: the affected states include connecticut, delaware, illinois, indiana, iowa, kentucky, maine, maryland, massachusetts, michigan, minnesota, missouri, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, vermont, virginia, west virginia, washington d. C. , and wisconsin. This is a known issue, I have a huge rusted hole in the truck, and it's not covered because I don't live in a surrounding state of kentucky or virginia but I live within 50 miles of both of these states. This known recall should be expanded to include tennessee and north carolina and it's ridiculous to recall 50 miles away but not here. Why would you allow this?.

9 Body problem of the 2022 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 02/17/2025

The paint on all four doors of my 2022 Honda Ridgeline black edition - white pearl is cracking at the seam where sealant is applied, with visible rust beneath. This issue began at approximately 32,000 miles, within the warranty period. The cracks have worsened over time, and I’m concerned about potential corrosion and structural weakening of the doors. ?in March 2025, I reported the issue to my local Honda dealer, who confirmed the cracks and instructed me to obtain repair estimates at their body shop. By may 2025, the regional Honda rep denied the claim due to repair cost and said to get a 2nd estimate from another shop they specified. That claim was again denied due to cost. The dealer told me to contact Honda corporate which I did in October 2025. I was told the car was out of warranty and no further investigation would be made. ?the cracks and visible rust raise concerns about premature corrosion, potentially weakening the door structure and latches, which could lead to a safety hazard over time. The delay in processing the claim appears intentional, as it pushed the car out of warranty.

10 Body problem of the 2009 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 01/28/2025

Corrosion formed on the rear frame and a recall was issued for Honda Ridgelines. The checkered flag Honda dealership tested our Ridgeline, and it failed the punch test regarding corrosion. The fuel tank, which is mounted to the rear frame, can become unsecured as the rear frame deteriorates from corrosion. An unsecured fuel tank could have a fuel leak and an increased risk of fire. The dealership confiscated the Ridgeline and Honda manufacturer still has not issued a buyback or any compensation.

11 Body problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 09/20/2024

I currently have the following recalls; tailgate harness, hood latch striker, timing belt and fuel pump. I have contacted my local dealer and I am being told that there are no parts.

12 Body problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 07/15/2024

I request Honda consideration of payment for hood replacement on my 2019 Ridgeline. Since I bought the truck new in 2019, the hood has fluttered alarmingly in turbulent air. I took it in when I got the recall notice in Jan 2022, hoping that it would resolve the problem. The local dealer installed a bracket reinforcement at that time. It did not prevent the hood flutter. This summer, as I was travelling in wyoming on a 2 lane road at 55mph, I encountered a blast of air from a semi truck going the opposite direction. The left side of the hood blew up 4-5 inches, accompanied by a loud banging noise. The hood latch held. When I stopped, the left side of the hood was deformed upward about 1. 5 inches. At roadside, I torqued it down so that it did not have such a big gap, but after that, it would even deform up substantially with the bow wave from a passing motorcycle. Ultimately, I used guerilla tape to hold the hood down and to try to prevent air pressure from getting under the hood and lifting. This was effective, but I noticed that now the entire hood would flutter. In 2021, Honda sent me a recall notice about this issue and I complied. That notice said that one of the potential remedies was hood replacement. This seems adequate evidence to me that Honda acknowledges a design flaw. I believe that there are actually 2 flaws. One with inadequate stiffness of the leading edge of the hood, and the other inadequate prevention of air ingress under the leading edge of the hood. The combination of these led to hood failure. I believe that if I had waited to respond to the recall notice, that Honda would have certainly replaced my hood, the skin of which is now completely debonded from the underlying skeleton. I suspect that my local dealer followed recall guidelines in the placement of latch reinforcement, but maintain that this was inadequate remedy for a potentially lethal problem.

13 Body problem of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 04/27/2024

Both drivers and passenger doors won't unlock or open without significant' force. This only occurs sometimes but has happened many times over the last year. I have had witnesses (son's) in the car when this happens. It seems like the door locking solenoid is holding the doors locked and both pulling the handle and tryin to flip the unlock switch are difficult. The risk here is in a crash or fire, someone without strength, won't be able to exit the vehicle. I video'd this on 27apr24 (can provide if requested).

14 Body problem of the 2021 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 01/01/2024

I’ve had issues with the side view mirrors with this vehicle since the day that I took delivery. They were always wobbly. Honda issued a recall on them and the replacement mirrors look like “fun house” mirrors. They are super distorted and make me nauseous looking out of them. This is not an isolated incident. Many people are experiencing issues with the recalled mirrors being distorted. Honda needs to come up with another recall and real fix for this.

15 Body problem of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 12/19/2023

The hood flops in the wind, like a 2 foot long piece of aluminum foil. It's because the glue holding the composite skin to the metal frame has come loose. I'm sure over time, the stress from the wind will cause the composite material to break completely from the hood. Honda dealer wanted Honda to repair it, but Honda will only pay 60%, leaving me with a 1100. 00 bill. Not acceptable, since it's a manufacturing defect. I now have a brick and a tie down holding it in place, and you know that's really safe. Since we only drove it in town for the first 2 1/2 years (bought it new off the showroom floor) we didn't know it had a problem. Wasn't until we drove it on I-90 at 80mph, that it had a floppy in the wind problem, it just got worse from then on. Honda dealer in scottsbluff ne was the place that told us it wasn't normal. That's when we tried to get Honda to fix it.

16 Body problem of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/28/2023

My hood is subtly bouncing at speeds over 55mph. I see that many pilots, Ridgelines, etc. Had recalls about the hood latch. I searched to see if my car was on the recall list for that after experiencing the hood bouncing, but it was not; however, it is concerning. I have not had my truck inspected yet, as I just bought it. There are no lights, messages etc. Should I be concerned or take it in?.

17 Body problem of the 2014 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/19/2023

My local dealership, wesley chaple Honda, in wesley chaple florida, cannot get the tool required to perform the recall /repair of the rusted gas tank belt support that the recall no. 22v430 refers to. I purchased the 2014 Honda Ridgeline in butler, PA in 2014 and is considered the rust belt region which is causing the corrosion of the support. Honda claims there are not enough Ridgelines in florida to supply the local dealership with the necessary repair parts and the special tool required to make the correction. The Honda corp. Customer support just says to take the vehicle back to the dealership for the recall, but the dealership here cannot perform the recall without the proper tool.

18 Body problem of the 2007 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/29/2023

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, there was an abnormal humming sound coming from the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who stated that the vehicle was rusted and unsafe to drive. A punch test was performed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.

19 Body problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/25/2023

Sudden spontaneous moonroof explosion. Traveling at approximately 60mph I experienced a spontaneous explosion of the moonroof while it was closed and the headliner was closed. Glass flew into following traffic. There was no oncoming traffic and we were not following anyone. Sky’s were clear and the road was dry and paved. This was a loud and distracting event and if the headliner cover wasn’t closed it could have been much more serious. This happened around 10am mdt yesterday June 25 2023. The vehicle had about 20300 miles on the odometer.

20 Body problem of the 2008 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/02/2023

My 2008 Honda Ridgeline has a frame rusted to the point where it has been deemed unsafe to drive by my local Honda dealership and Honda USA. My 2008 Honda Ridgeline is PA titled and was involved in recall 22v-430 (NHTSA recall number) / 22-021 (Honda recall number). I took my truck into wright Honda (uniontown, PA) on June 2nd, 2023 for the 2006-2014 Ridgeline rear frame repair safety recall.  the truck is available for inspection, and Honda USA has several pictures of the frame problems that they evaluated. When wright Honda performed the recall work, they informed me that the frame rust is so severe that it is not safe to drive and it will not pass inspection; they recommended that I tow it home (at my expense, which is what I had to do). I asked them if my truck might be considered for a buyback. They told me that Honda USA did request more pictures and that someone from Honda USA would be in touch with me.  basically, after speaking to a case manager and supervisor, Honda USA told me that the frame corrosion is my responsibility because they performed their recall. The Honda USA technician eric (4605592) agreed that the frame rust is so bad that is should not be driven on a road. So although multiple parties at Honda agree that my frame rust is so severe that I can no longer drive the truck, and there is a recall regarding frame rust on my Ridgeline, Honda refuses to take responsibility and either replace the frame or buy it back. The recall was to prevent the gas tank from falling off and catching fire. I think it is equally important for Honda to take care of frames that may break while driving, killing everyone in the truck, when it is known that the frame corrosion is already a problem because of a Honda quality control issue.

21 Body problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 02/07/2023

When the tailgate of the Ridgeline is open like a door it slams shut hitting the person loading something into the bed in the back. The hinge isn’t strong enough to hold the door open. The truck has to be parked on perfectly level ground to keep this from happening. Honda has been made aware of this problem.

22 Body problem of the 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 02/01/2023

There is currently a rust recall for vehicles registered in states surrounding me, but north carolina, tennessee is not included. The recall is from damage by salt to rusting frame and rocker panels. Mine was originally registered in western nc and currently registered in north east TN. Both of these areas use salt on the roads and my Ridgeline is rusting in the rocker panels and underneath. This is a known issue but why would you allow Honda to not cover vehicles in neighboring states to those covered, I. E. Kentucky, virginia, west virginia. Hoping you will act on this since you know it's a problem with states using salt and this Honda is starting to rust rapidly with no warning.

23 Body problem of the 2017 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 01/21/2023

Water intrusion/collection under the carpet under the carpet in the rear cabin if the truck. Musty smell started back in 2018 and didn't realized the soaked carpet after a few months when I came across an online forum about same issue happening with a lot of 2nd gen Honda Ridgeline. Dealership refused to cover the repair on the problem.

24 Body problem of the 2021 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 01/09/2023

Tailgate fell down while taking off from a red light, ground was flat and even. The vehicle also didn't trigger the light that the tailgate was open.

25 Body problem of the 2006 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 01/04/2023

When my dealership inspected my rear frame for corrosion related to warranty 22v-430, they noted that the rear frame corrosion was so severe that the rear passenger wheel was no longer secured to the rear frame, resulting in a severe safety risk. However, warranty 22v-430 relates to corrosion of the rear frame resulting in an unsecured fuel tank which may result in a fuel leak and an increased risk of fire. The dealership and the district Honda representative agreed that the frame was severely corroded and presented a severe safety risk, but the district Honda representative said Honda will not warranty the defective frame nor offer any remedy for the related rear frame corrosion problem. The corrosion problem acknowledged in warranty 22v-430 could impair the safety and stability of the vehicle and put the driver and all passenger as well as other vehicles and pedestrians at risk if the wheel becomes unsecured. Until warranty 22v-430 was performed, there was no warning system alerting me to the safety issue and thus could have easily gone undetected. Since Honda is not taking responsibility for defect in the rear frame, I am seeking your help for this related rear frame corrosion problem. Note: the attached 4 pictures show the rear drivers side frame with secured wheel compared with the rear passenger side frame with unsecured wheel.

26 Body problem of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 11/14/2022

The backup camera has stopped working, at least the imaging part. This makes backing up riskier, especially in parking lots, driveways or where pedestrians may be behind me. I have not been to the dealership yet as it failed today but this seems a common complaint for Ridgeline owners online. I have not had others inspect this problem yet. There was no warning, yesterday worked fine, today it doesn't work. I took a picture of the broken wiring harness at the corner of the tailgate, looks same as what I found online. Truck is a 2018 model with between 70 and 80k miles.

27 Body problem of the 2014 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 11/01/2022

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? paint defect for 2014 Honda Ridgeline how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? na has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? dealership auto body shop said that the car's paint seems to have a defect such as clear coat is gone on car that is why it is peeling badly which is resulting to rust. I do not know if the paint had been improperly applied or issues with chemical composition of the paint that lead to premature chipping and wear that is occurring with the car. I had a 2007 Honda pilot older than the 2014 Honda Ridgeline and it is not even peeling and rusty like the Ridgeline. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? by martin--email martin. Rehfeldt@russdarrow. Com case #: 12815491 and they refuse to assist claiming that there is no recall and it is considered "normal wear and tear" which I do not believe that in my case is the truth. There have been several complaints about Honda Ridgeline's customers who are unhappy about the peeling paint. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? started toward at the end of 2021 and then had it estimated in Mar 2022, cost over $10,519 for the paint alone. For a paint job that cost over $10519 that means that there must be something wrong with the car to being with during manufacturing. It should not be blame on normal wear and tear. Solution: I would appreciate for Honda to do a courtesy repair on the car such as a new paint job at their own expense. Perhaps NHTSA should contact and research about folks who are in the same position as I am with the peeling paint.

28 Body problem of the 2007 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 10/21/2022

During the conduct of the fuel tank corrosion recall, the dealer identified that the location on frame where the rear control arm attaches was completely corroded away and no longer supporting the control arm. They said this was a safety issue that can cause the rear wheel to collapse in. The dealer tried to get Honda of America to cover the repair as a part of the fuel tank recall but Honda of America refused. The dealer said the only way to fix it would be to attach a whole new truck bed as it's a unibody construction. There hasn't been a crash yet but there is a strong possibility of a crash due to the corrosion.

29 Body problem of the 2007 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 09/14/2022

My vehicle had a recall for corrosion on the rear frame. I brought it to the local Honda dealer on 9/14/2022 . It was picked up on 9/15/2022. The invoice stated they inspected the rear frame for rust and corrosion. I had told them there was a big hole in the the frame near the driver's rear wheel. I looked under the vehicle on 9/19/22 and the hole still remains. It is right by the jacking point on the vehicle and looks unsafe to use if I need to change the tire. I took pictures and sent to the dealer and have not heard back from them.

30 Body problem of the 2007 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 08/22/2022

I took my vehicle to get recall inspection/repaired on August 22, 2022 @ Honda dealership locally. I was told by the technician that they did the hammer test for the recall after initially speaking to the technician 20 minutes prior to call that stated to pick up vehicle and that all is good because it passed inspection for the recall. My vehicle is definitely is affected by the recall to the point that the frame and my parts are corroded beyond repair. Prior to the recall I felt confident driving it and after the recall my husband checked my vehicle over and was shocked because the frame is all corroded to the point that it is a safety risk.

32 Body problem of the 2007 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 06/20/2022

Hello, we are reporting an incident our 2007 Honda risgeline. I am reporting this for my son who is the owner of the truck. He hit a pothole, after which a ticking noise started. When he got home, we inspected the vehicle and found that the gas tank straps ripped out of the frame, due to frame rust. The gas tank is laying in contact with the vehicle driveshaft. The ticking noise is due to the driveshaft balance weights contacting the gas tank and the shaft rotates. I am reporting so that you have accurate incident counts for your records. This would be part of the recently announced recall for this issue. The vehicle can not be driven in its current state.

33 Body problem of the 2021 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 05/10/2022

34 Body problem of the 2019 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 04/02/2022

35 Body problem of the 2020 Honda Ridgeline

Failure Date: 03/22/2022

I received a recall notice #21v-932 per Honda service bulletin 21-086 and took my 2020 Honda Ridgeline in on March 22, 2022. The recall notice specifies that gaps between hood seal and grill allow for air entry that leads to hood vibration allowing the hood latch to break loose and hood to open while driving. I have such an air gap and to make matters worse this gap also allows elements to enter my engine compartment getting everything wet/soiled- including electricals. After the recall repair was competed, I still had a sizable air gap between the hood seal and the grill. The dealer service department manager said it was operating according to Honda specifications and that’s all he could do. I complained and he said he would contact Honda motors of America. He received a reply from Honda motors that ignored my complaint. My complaint is that page 15 of this Honda service bulletin 21-086 recall notice specifies “inspect the resting position of the hood seal. Ensure that the hood seal is making contact along the front grill”. After repair, my vehicle still has a good size air gap between the hood seal and grill which does not meet the repair requirements of the recall notice. Not only that, the repair on my vehicle did not address the root cause of the problem which is to prevent air from entering and causing vibration. And this could be on many Honda vehicles! I tried to attach a word document with additional information but your system would not allow. Please contact me using email because I have hearing loss from vietnam war and communicating over the phone is very difficult for me!!!!.
