After parking on the roadside with engine off for about 10 minutes, the truck would not start. I tried to start twice; the dash lights came on, I could hear the starter try to engage, felt a slight forward lurch from the vehicle, then nothing. The starter seemed to disengage' the dash lights stayed on, and the electric system went into acc mode. I tried twice with same result. I attempted to put the shift selector in neutral, but it stayed in park. I was seated in truck, seat belt on, foot pressing on brake pedal. After waiting a few minutes, it cranked and started normally. No further issues the rest of the day. The weather was mild, sunny, temperatures in the mid-60’s fahrenheit.

Frame has rusted out so bad walmart says it can’t be put on lift to rotate tires. Not yet reported to dealer or inspected by dealer. This is a recall problem but my vehicle was not included. It was previously registered in north carolina and tennessee where salt is used on roads.

The multipurpose camera had an internal electronic failure. Indications we all of the warning lights were illuminated on my dash. Initially it began when I had about 43, 400 miles on my truck. The warning lights would all remail lighted on starting the vehicle. I could restart the vehicle and eventually get the lights to go off. Then the slowly began to stay on permanently. I eventually made an appointment and took my truck into a Honda dealership and it was diagnosed a the failure of the multipurpose camera at 44,000 miles. The Honda service tech told me that none of my safety features were working at this time which really scared me. The Honda dealership witnessed the dashboard warning lights and ran a diagnostic indicating the problem. The dealership ordered a replacement camera and replaced it. Parts and labor were $2118. 78. The first indication was when the warning lights began staying lit on my dash.

Idle stop feature fails to restart. Could possibly leave stranded. The vehicle is new 2025 with less than 15k miles. Auto start feature worked fine for about 10k miles and then started struggling to restart over several weeks. Turned off the idle stop feature. Then took to a parking lot and tested until I got a failure. Very dangerous feature, poorly designed by Honda. I see online that others are reporting the same issue in previous year models. No warning or service lights to indicate a problem or impending problem. I'll be taking to dealer this week for assessment.

1. Visibility: rearview mirrors/devices: exterior. Driver mirror fell off. 2. Windshield multipurpose camera unit, u3000-49, burned out. Requiring replacement within 4 years of purchase. 3. The auto idle stop stalls the car.
I bought a new 2025 Honda Ridgeline truck from hendrick Honda, easley, SC and within the first 24 hours the instrument display showed an “auto idle stop error” and to get service at the dealer. I took it back to the dealer within two days, and they said they ran diagnostics and couldn’t find nothing wrong. The service advisor said “it will probably just go away as you drive it more. ” well, after a couple thousand miles now, it has not gone away but sporadically reappears while driving. I called the service advisor back and he said I could bring the truck back and they could try a diagnostic test again. I asked him to instead contact Honda automotive as this is a known issue with the Ridgeline then call me back to notify me of the solution. He never called back.
Rust in the frame- missing parts - holes.

I was driving alone on us-hwy 45 in chunchula, al. . . . . . I heard the loudest noise ever sounded like a high power rifle blast in my ear then I was showered with glass. The sunroof exploded. I had a police report written, I literally thought I had been shot at. There was only myself and one other very small vehicle way ahead of me. No trees hanging over the road or anything.

Ais system not working properly . Vehicle stalls when brake is applied when car is stopped and at idle. Does not restart when brake is released as designed . This creates a safety hazard when in traffic . This has occurred frequently . Automatic idle stop/start (ais) system.
Auto idle stop system is not working correctly. Usual it happens at a traffic light, the truck auto idle stop system sometimes will not start the engine and requires me to put it in park and restart with the primary starter. Took the truck to Honda dealer and they told me the best remedy was to turn off the auto idle stop system every time I use the truck. This does not seem like a reasonable fix. I have had the truck or 5 years, but only have about 26000 miles on the vehicle. The auto idle stop system has failed to work approximately 15 to 20 times since I bought the truck new in 2020.

The visor on the drivers side will not assume the position so that it does not interfere with complete visibility of the front window. It was hard to adjust when we first bought the car and we thought it would get less stiff but it hasn’t.
Whenever I’m driving in my vehicle everything seems to be fine until I stop at a red light. On three separate occasions, while my vehicle is stopped it will automatically go into neutral and stall. This causes my truck not to run properly. I have to shut my car off, and then turn it back on to put it in drive and operate it like normal. I’m unsure what my cars issue is but it is an inconvenience and a safety concern due to it keeps happening while in traffic.
The rear crossmember of the Honda Ridgeline 2013 rtl where the trailer hitch is attached is rusted through which could break when towing or driving causing an accident. I think Honda should weld a plate onto the crossmember beam and undercoat it. Thank you.

Experiencing numerous false error warnings from collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) when meeting oncoming vehicles on straight or slightly curving two lane roads. I have taken my vehicle three times to be serviced for this specific reason and a blind spot information system error. The bsi appears to be repaired now but the false cmbs warnings still have not been repaired. The most recent incidents listed below occurred today after picking up the truck from the bsi repair.
My Honda 2020 Ridgeline has intermittent faults on the dash monitor, it displays acc, lkas, collision mitigation, high beam, lane departure warnings, and sometimes transmission problem. I am told it is the muti cable assembly sensor on the front window not communicating with the other sensors. I took my car to auto zone and they stated no communication, due to a bad battery. I replaced the battery, and it still has the multiple errors/ fault codes. During research several people have had this problem with Honda vehicles. At times it goes away for a day or two and then comes back with the same faults. It seems like a faulty part. The dealer wants 1800 for repair and calibration of sensors, this was after they ran a diagnostic test and found no engine faults/codes.
On 5/11/25 the vehicle mid display showed keyless start system problem error message with a scan gage dtc12c5 stored. This made the vehicle hard to start requiring multiple actuation of the start/stop switch. The vehicle milage was 56404 miles. The start/stop switch needed to be replaced.

My auto start/stop wouldn’t restart my car in traffic. I ran the battery down trying to restart it and finally had to jump it off.
My vehicle has less than 95k miles on it. Purchased it brand new from the dealer in 2016. It was one of the first few Ridgelines in the state. I've always had it serviced on time at the dealer, and kept up with its maintenance and care. The engine started to fail out of nowhere - making a weird tapping/knocking noise. I made an appointment to have it checked out by the dealership, and that same day my check engine light came on while I was on the freeway going 70mph. It began shaking at an idle. I got off the freeway, and parked. I was afraid to turn the car back on. The check engine light listed off numerous warnings of failed systems. Since my appointment wasn't until the next day, I left my car near the dealership overnight, instead of driving it back home for fear of causing an accident, or having my engine overheat or explode. I brought it to the dealership the next day, and they confirmed that I had a fuel injector issue, consistent with a known issue, for which I had an extended warranty letter the mil warnings. However, they also noted a possible connection rod issue in the engine, and said the engine would have to be completely replaced or rebuilt. I have read and heard from many other people with a 2017 Honda Ridgeline that they have experienced this issue with their engines failing well before they should - at 90k miles, 140k miles, etc. There is a known issue with many of the 2017 Honda Ridgelines - and a recall did occur, but my VIN says my vehicle is not part of this recall - however, clearly my engine had the problem that Honda was aware of. My whole family was in the car when the check engine light came on, and the sound got worse - we could have been injured in an accident on the freeway, or had the engine overheat/explode while we were in the car. The issue was reproduced and confirmed by the dealer service center, and has been inspected by them. No warnings or symptoms before the failure - just complete shutdown out of nowhere.
Reference investigation: ea25004, no restart after auto start/stop engages 2 separate instances 1st instance during stop and go driving on highway in heavy traffic, engine failed to restart automatically after full stop, message stating something about neutral appeared, unsure exactly what message stated. I had to shift to park and hold the brake down for a normal start. 2nd instance 2 weeks after 1st 04/04/2025 while stopped at a traffic light engine failed to auto start - same result as above (1st incident).
Dog walked on neutral button while truck was in motion, causing moving vehicle to unsafely go into neutral. Same thing can happen with a child or passenger who accidentally pushes the fully exposed button.
Vehicle has an open recall, but dealer still don't have the parts available to repair for almost a year.
Honda placed panels in the cargo area that are toxic and have a high voc. I have been unable to park the car in the garage because of the toxic odor. The other issue is the air in the brake lines, which makes stopping the truck difficult. The truck is heavy and it just keeps moving when the brakes are applied. I went to dealer and they refused to bleed the brakes. It is absurd!!! the panels are a health concern; can these panels cause cancer; this is a safety issue as well. I hope you take this matter seriously. I will be sending this information to the u. S. Attorney general. We have to be certain that this panel is not harmful . It is like someone standing in front of you and blowing their cigarette smoke in your face. Please look into this matter. The cargo area is under the bed.
Recall was initiated because salt used on roads during winter could accumulate along the rear frame, where the fuel tank is mounted, causing corrosion and potentially leading to the fuel tank becoming unsecured. Affected vehicles: the recall covers 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline pickup trucks that were sold or ever registered in the salt-belt region. Salt-belt states: the affected states include connecticut, delaware, illinois, indiana, iowa, kentucky, maine, maryland, massachusetts, michigan, minnesota, missouri, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, vermont, virginia, west virginia, washington d. C. , and wisconsin. This is a known issue, I have a huge rusted hole in the truck, and it's not covered because I don't live in a surrounding state of kentucky or virginia but I live within 50 miles of both of these states. This known recall should be expanded to include tennessee and north carolina and it's ridiculous to recall 50 miles away but not here. Why would you allow this?.
On multiple occasions at highway speeds when coasting for a few seconds roughly 50mph to 70mph, the truck begins to stall/ lose power. We thought it was related to the auto-idle feature, but the last two events I had it turned off. This has happened 5 or 6 times to me and my wife since about six months after buying the truck. Four of the events - November 2023: [xxx] in new jersey at ~50 mph, engine lost power, applying gas did nothing. A few seconds later it regained power and made a buzzing noise. [xxx]: on [xxx] in virginia, going down hill at ~70 mph, the engine lost power without warning, steering & brake pedal began to freeze up as if the truck was turning off when coasting briefly down with the flow of traffic. I pumped the gas pedal to no avail - a couple of seconds later it recovered and started up - and buzzed loudly. I avoided an accident; luckily the vehicle behind us was not tailgating. No lights or warning appeared on the dash. The dealer scanned the truck's computer and they noted a transmission event code, but nothing more. Could not replicate the issue. [xxx], jacksonville, FL [xxx] near [xxx] at ~62 mph, in the middle lane with auto-idle turned off, engine began to lose power briefly with a slight buzz (high pitch) when it "came back" to full power - again while cruising, almost coasting - to keep pace and distance from the vehicle in front of me. My wife witnessed the event and made note of the time and speed. [xxx], 8:13pm - on [xxx] going through jax on the way to the airport to pick up my wife. In the middle lane (second over from left lane) at ~60mph started to lose power in spite of my foot being on the gas. I kept the gas applied and the engine power came back. No buzz sound. At ~ 31,531 mile on the odometer. The truck has been back to the dealer 3 times and they cannot replicate the event. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The truck has had ~6 occurrences since purchased where the engine briefly loses power in highway cruising speeds between ~50 and 75mph at first we thought it was a safety feature or governor on the truck – or a malfunctioning of the auto-idle. I mentioned the incidents to the dealer service techs where we bought it but there was no awareness or acknowledgement of issues or a safety feature that would do this. This has happened to both my wife and me when driving; we began documenting the events - the last 3 are as follows: [xxx], midday. [xxx], va, going downhill at ~70 mph, engine began stalling without warning when I eased off the gas to coast briefly downhill in the flow of traffic; steering and brake pedal began to freeze. I gave it gas, pumping the pedal to no immediate effect; a couple of seconds later it recovered and started up; making a loud buzzing noise. I avoided an accident in traffic by not panicking and because the vehicle behind us was not tailgating. [xxx], 7:08 pm. I [xxx] at ~62-65 mph, again in the middle lane cruising with traffic, auto-idle turned off. When we coasted for a few seconds in the flow, the engine suddenly lost power; would not accelerate or re-engage. After a couple of seconds the engine came back to full power with a slight buzz (high pitch) – not as loud as previous times. [xxx]/ 8:13 pm. On [xxx] going through jacksonville downtown on the way to the airport. In the middle lane (second over from left lane) at ~60mph the engine started to lose power in spite of my foot being on the gas. I kept the gas applied and the engine power came back. No buzz sound. At ~ 31,531 mile on the odometer. Note that we changed dealers for the service – Honda of the avenues, and they have had the truck a few times since the [xxx] event. They have been able to pick up one code when scanning the truck – for a “transmission event. ” they cannot replicate the event. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Considering purchasing but, after checking VIN, there was no report of camera harness or fuel pump recall being completed.

My auto idle start has failed on approximately four occasions, initially on 01/29/25, and on three subsequent occasions. As I went to move forward through the intersection, the auto idle start initially engaged then immediately stopped and the vehicle wouldn't immediately restart. On the other three occasions, the vehicle did restart after stopping. On two occasions, there have been dash messages -- once "auto high beam error" and another time brake system problem. " the message disappears quickly. Other times there is no message. At other times, there intermittently seems to be some hesitation on auto idle start. I have taken it to the dealer on 02/10/2025 and 02/20/2025 (hilton head Honda) and on 12/23/25 (stokes Honda of hilton head). The dealers, in each of three services, were unable to recreate the problem and unable to offer a repair.
Inner door handles on the driver and passenger side front doors intermittently get stuck and require me to hit the unlock button to operate or require significant force to pull open hindering safe egress. Problem was reproduced by service technician and advisor when picking up vehicle from an appointment on [xxx]. No warning lights were received. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The trailer hitch receiver broke off the trailer hitch frame, which caused out travel trailer to become completely disconnected from the truck. The hitch was standard equipment on the truck when we bought the truck new, and the hitch is rated as "class iii", which means it should be able to tow a trailer weighing up to 8,000 pounds, with a tongue weight up to 800 pounds. Our trailer has a dry weight of 3,500 pounds, and a hitch weight of 535 pounds. We've owned the truck since it was new, and the truck has never pulled a heavier trailer. By a stroke of incredibly good luck, the trailer broke free from the truck when we were going 5 mph in a level parking lot. We were 1450 miles into a trip, and many of those miles were at highway speed. If the trailer receiver had broken at highway speed, the trailer would have been completely free of the truck at highway speed.
Multiple instances of emission system warning/stop start failure warning alerts. Warning lights will randomly go off then back on. Replaced sensor and it failed within a month. Truck has under 21000 miles.
I want to bring to your attention what I consider a safety concern with the 2025 Honda Ridgeline black editition that I just purchased and an important feature that does not function properly. My concern is the the auto high beam headlight feature. This is one of the features for which I choice to purchase this particular pickup truck. The issue/problem is as follows. The auto high beam feature is very slow to respond and extremely inconsistent as to when and why the headlights switch from low beam to high beam and vice versa. For example, I have experienced while driving a two lane very dark windy road with no street lights; the auto high beam feature is very slow to respond and once it does, it will switch very back to low beam if it detects reflections from traffic signs, reflectors in the center of the road, and or such things as porch lights. I have witnessed the high beam feature switching to low beam when going up or down a hill in the road and/or while going around a corner with no on-coming cars. This can be very unsafe because when you are depending on high beams to see around a corner and suddenly the bright lights switch to low beams is it extremely detracting and difficult to see around the corner when going the speed limit 55 miles per hour. I have witness the high beam feature turning back on while approaching an on coming car and or being very slow switch to low beam while approaching an oncoming car. I feel that this could be dangerous by blinding an on-coming driver. One of the most important safety features on my new Honda Ridgeline is for all purposes unsafe and nu-usable. I have not yet brought this to the dealer's attention because I suspect that they will tell me nothing can be done to fix these problems. I however, intend to do so. I have read on-line that this is a very common problem/complaint with later model Honda Ridgelines and other owners have noted that there is currently no fix for this safety issue. Thank you.
Auto magic high beam head lights. These do not work ever but are of part the sales persons spew on Honda safety features.
