I purchased a 2025 Honda Ridgeline and noticed that the turn signal is hardly audible. If you have the radio on or the windows rolled down, you will not hear the warning tone. In the infotainment system there is an adjustment that allows you to raise the volume of the warning indicator and even at the highest volume you can barely hear it. I also found that I am not alone and that this IA a common problem with some Honda models. Every other car I have ever owned made a mechanical or audio tone to warn that the signal light is active. This makes the driver behind you question whether you are taking a turn or not, should they pass you or not? I took it to the service department, and they could not tell me how to increase the volume. I had them go to another 2025 Honda Ridgeline and it had the same problem. I think that it is supposed to work with the infotainment system but even with their settings the issue persisted. Even the blind spot detection is inaudible. I think this is negligence on behalf of Honda. You can search on "Honda turn signal inaudible".
While driving vehicle hesitated and almost shut off. It has happened twice in the last month. Also sometimes is hard to start engine. I received the fuel pump recall in February 2024 and again in may 2024 stating that parts should be available in fall. I called dch Honda of temecula and I was told that they do not have parts and they have no idea when they will have parts on hand. I fear that my truck will shut off and I will not be able to stop it in time. Especially when driving 65-70 mph on freeway.

Driver’s sun visor is extremely hard to pull down quickly with one hand. It sticks so bad I need to use both hands to pull it down to shield my eyes from the blinding sun in certain seasons and driving situations. If I need two hands to pull it down how can I keep one hand on the steering wheel. I have googled this issue and numerous owners have had the same problem. My vehicle was purchased as a used, certified Honda that went through rigorous inspections. Looks like they never tried to flip down the sun visor in this one. This is clearly a safety issue if you’re trying to steer and struggling with operating the sun visor. It has been this difficult since I have owned the vehicle. When I asked the service provider they said “yes some do that for some reason but you’d have to replace it. ”.
My 2017 Honda Ridgeline started making loud noises coming from the engine. I took it to autozone and they used there diagnostic tool and all that came up was an issue with the oxygen getting into the fuel due to an issue with the fuel injector. On my way home it stopped running as I was making a turn. Mechanic confirmed engine failure. I did research and typed my VIN into kelly blue book recall section and 7 recalls came up, including the engine. But when I called Honda they said only 2 recalls were associated with my VIN. I take good care of my truck and there is not reason why my engine would fail unless there was an issue with manufacturing, or one of the other recalls caused the engine to fail. I purchased my truck for $30k a few years ago and I can’t afford for it to completely inoperable and am certain the engine seized because of a manufacturing issue.

What happened? while driving in the right lane on a two lane highway, I slowed slightly when approaching a vehicle ahead of me. I then started to move into the left lane to pass when the engine stopped (as confirmed by the tachometer quickly dropping to 0 (zero) rpms). In response, I started feathering the throttle and moved back into the right lane where the engine restarted on its own. I then continued my trip without further incident. This happened with approximately 60,000 miles on the truck which was purchased new by me. I did have a similar incident when the truck was much newer but didn't pay much attention as I was still learning Honda's adas and wasn't sure if 'pilot error' came into play. And to clarify, the only safety that was in use this time was lane keeping assist but it wasn't active as I was actively signaling my lane change. Questions under your general guidelines: while the engine stopped unexpectedly, I don't believe it was an engine fault simply due to the number of miles I've driven the truck with no similar problem. While my wife and I weren't at risk since traffic was light at the time with no one behind us, I can see a safety issue in heavier traffic, especially if the engine doesn't restart as soon as it did. The truck has not been inspected by Honda. I did file a complaint with american Honda (case #14787271) and they simply suggested a visit to my local Honda service department. But due to the very limited occurrence of this issue, I can't see how their service department can be of any help. During the incident occurrence, there were no warning lights, messages or otherwise hints of an impending problem.

Sunroof explosion.

Driving on the freeway the sun roof exploded shattering the glass unexpectedly. There was no rock or other outside projectile that hit the glass since I had a kayak above the glass on a roof rack pretty much covering most of the glass. I was able to close the shade door inside before the glass came down on us. I found out that this has happened on other Honda vehicles and there is a class action suit which I don't know much about. My insurance company will replace it but will cost me my $500 deductible.
Auto start stop fails to work.

After months of using my new Ridgeline the garage door closed inadvertently once I passed down the garage motor impacting the vehicle at the exit. The Ridgeline uses the homelink on the rear-view window which is included as part of the Ridgeline. I contacted Honda and they referred me to homelink for whom I also created an incident.

My 2023 Honda Ridgeline is leaking water from under the dashboard and leaving water on the passenger side front floorboard. This is also a safety risk due to the amount of electrical wiring from where the leak is originating. So far Honda cannot find the source of the leak despite the water on the carpet and rubber floormat.
The backup camera is no longer working - just a black screen.
Both drivers and passenger doors won't unlock or open without significant' force. This only occurs sometimes but has happened many times over the last year. I have had witnesses (son's) in the car when this happens. It seems like the door locking solenoid is holding the doors locked and both pulling the handle and tryin to flip the unlock switch are difficult. The risk here is in a crash or fire, someone without strength, won't be able to exit the vehicle. I video'd this on 27apr24 (can provide if requested).
Rearview camera stopped working due to the tailgate wire harness failing from normal opening and closing of the tailgate . The issue appears to be identical to the subject of a recall in 2017 to 2019 model years.
Noticed rust on driver side frame rail.

Backup camera goes black - no picture. Doing some follow up on the internet, this appears to be a problem that has affected other Honda Ridgelines.
The reverse camera on the vehicle flickers black and then shows the image, or will be black the entire time. This happens intermittently.
While driving down highway moonroof exploded. Did not appear to be damaged by debris.
Rear camera stopped working. The screen is blank with the guide lines showing.
The backup camera is not working consistently. An internet search reveals that this is a common problem and previous model years were subject to a recall. I understand that there is a NHTSA investigation on going regarding this issue.
Rear view camera failed. Only shows a black screen, same symptoms of the 2017-2020 Honda Ridgeline recall. Contacted Honda and was told it wasn’t covered and to pay to get it fixed. 2021 Ridgeline with 47,000 miles. I’m aware NHTSA has received 27 other complaints as well based upon a recent report.
Back-up camera failed.
I was in line waiting for a pick up order when all of a sudden my Ridgeline just stopped - engine kicked off - no warning lights came on ahead of this incident - there were no noises from the truck beforehand - no early indication that something like this was going to happen - thank g. . I was in line at macdonald's and not on the highway. Engine just seized. I have taken my Ridgeline to Honda - and they have said that they can't figure out why this happened - surprised for a Ridgeline with 100,000 miles - it's been serviced at appropriate times. There were some recalls on it, but not one that would cause this issue - however , we did see if the NHTSA site that many 2017 Ridgelines are being recalls due to manufacturing errors - we feel that Honda should assume some responsibility.
How long should it take for repairs on the recall items? I have not received info from Honda, and a call to a local dealership has done nothing except being told "we'll call you when the parts are in. " first recall was 1 year ago, the other 9 months ago.
Open recall for fuel pump. Have tried multiple times to schedule repair with Honda dealer to be told they cannot get parts from Honda and to call them. This problem has been going on for a year.
After pulling into my son's driveway that only has a slight downward grade, I put my Honda Ridgeline into park, shutoff the engine and then exited the vehicle. I took only a step by the driver's side mirror when the vehicle rolled back about six inches. I immediately got back into the vehicle and started it up to make sure it was in park. Both indicators on the dash and the center consol button showed the vehicle was in park. I then set the emergency brake. This incident was reported to my dealer on 2/15/24. They found no codes stored and no concerns with the transmission. They stated" advised customer vehicle may roll back until the parking brake pawl engages. This is normal operation of the transmission. ".

Sunroof exploded while traveling eastbound on I-10 near pensacola, FL. Per the internet this has occurred. There is currently a class action lawsuit against Honda.
While traveling at highway speed, the glass panel of the sunroof/moonroof suddenly exploded outward without being struck by anything (I. E. Rock, debris). There was no warning prior to the explosion. Glass fragments rained down into the interior of the cabin and flew off the roof of the vehicle as well. Though startling to experience, there were no injuries to me or other drivers. Other Honda owners have reported this same experience with randomly exploding sunroof glass. The vehicle was taken to a Honda dealer who refused to cover the cost of replacing the glass, falsely stating that only an impact could cause such damage. A subsequent claim has been submitted to my insurance company.
The backup camera display is sometimes black. This is an intermittent problem that seems to stem from a poor connection. Manipulating the wiring leading from the tailgate can restore the camera's operation. This wiring is routed in such a wear that it seems prone to mechanical wear over time leading to a poor connection.
The Ridgeline is unsafe with the mirror tilting and moving when in reverse. Mirrors need to be adjusted every time I go in reverse. Everytime. This is unsafe as the mirror not only fails to stay static or wherever I adjust it to. It drops down (the mirror) every time I put the truck in reverse. The Ridgeline is unsafe when I back up, the mirrors move and distort and defeat the whole purpose of a mirror rendering it ineffective and a huge safety hazard. The Ridgeline is unsafe when the truck lunges forward when placing in park, after reverse. I suppose it is trying to get the mirror back to the orginal position which needs to be adjusted back every-time. The mirror is not static. When placing in drive after reverse the lunge is not only jarring to my neck and back, it is completely unsafe. In my lay opinion what I think is happening is the truck’s computer is waiting for the mirrors to return to their position, but then are out of focus requiring me to pull over to readjust the mirror every time I back up. This is extremely unsafe especially in tight environments like parking spaces (backing out. Parking. Adjusting mirror to correct and safe position. Then proceeding with my trip). This is impractical in some situations and thus ineffectual in all others. Coupled with a wiring harness failure in cold temps for mirror, cameras are ineffective as well. I live in minnesota and we have extreme winters. The harness issue is a previously recalled issue. But it is only compounded by these other issues.
Driver mirror always requires reajustment. This on initail startup or every time reverse gear is selected.
My Ridgeline was at the Honda dealer for a recall on both left and right exterior mirrors. (glass only) both were replaced. After leaving the dealer, the drivers side mirror image appeared wavy and distorted. It was difficult to focus on the image while driving rendering the mirror almost useless. The passenger side appears perfect. How can a replacement drivers side mirror installed due to a recall be worse than the recalled unit it replaced? frustrating.
Rear camera stopped working about six weeks ago. It does work intermittently when the tailgate is down. Dealer claimed I need new camera and harness, approaching $1,000! independent repair shop confirmed it is just the harness. My understanding is that 2017-2019 models are under recall for the harness safety defect. Please extend this recall to the 2020 model year!!!.
Auto-restart system has a warranty extension, but the dealer will not perform the repair until after the Honda Ridgeline has the problem occur at least once, thus placing the driver and any passengers in danger. This system did malfunction in our other Honda vehicle with the same warranty extension. When that occurred, it left us stranded in the middle of a six-lane road where we had stopped at a light and could not restart the vehicle. Several cars almost ran into us. Our 17-year-old daughter drives this vehicle and I do not want to wait until this major threat occurs to have Honda repair it. I filed a complaint with Honda, and they advised me they would do nothing and that I should file a complaint with the NHTSA.
I shifted the vehicle into reverse and the parking assist camera (backup camera) did not appear on the infotainment screen as it should. There is an active recall on the 2017 - 2019 models as Honda is aware of this problem with the tailgate wiring harness design. Backing up without the visual aid poses a serious safety threat to any pedestrians or vehicles that may not be seen due to the camera not working as it should. I have not yet scheduled a repair for this item but will update when the problem is remedied. There was no warning before this occured. It was sudden without any signs. It is my hope and the duty of the manufacturer that this issue is fixed within all model years that this problem is known to occur.
My hood is subtly bouncing at speeds over 55mph. I see that many pilots, Ridgelines, etc. Had recalls about the hood latch. I searched to see if my car was on the recall list for that after experiencing the hood bouncing, but it was not; however, it is concerning. I have not had my truck inspected yet, as I just bought it. There are no lights, messages etc. Should I be concerned or take it in?.
