The Hyundai Accents from 2007-2015 seem like they are all experiencing the same electrical issue from the reviews I’ve seen on google. The car literally shuts off while you are driving and the problem can’t be fixed. That is very dangerous to be driving and out of nowhere the car dash board lights come on and the car shuts off. I recently had multiple repairs done on my vehicle and none of the repairs corrected the problem.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated that her brake pedal would intermittently depress to the floorboard without warning. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to the dealer where she purchased the vehicle, future Ford Lincoln of roseville(650 automall dr, roseville, CA 95661), where they referred her to a Hyundai dealer for assistance. The contact then took the vehicle to the dealer where they informed her that her routers needed to be resurfaced. The contact had the repair performed; however, the failure persisted. The contact then took the vehicle back to the Ford dealer where she was informed that her extended warranty would not cover her brake failure. Over time, the contact also experience issues with both her electrical system failures and was also informed that her catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.

The horn just stopped working out of nowhere, but it’s not the fuses, it’s the actual horn.
My 2018 Hyundai Accent caught fire in motion on the way to get gas on June 21, 2021. The car had no recalls and no electrical issues prior to the explosion. Fire department ruled the accident as electrical, I had the vehicle for 6 months. A loud explosion sound came from the hood, it started smoking and we pulled the car off the road, moments later it caught fire and created an explosion spreading from the hood to the back of the car. Because I dont have a car, I had temporarily close my small online business, this has been a nightmare.

When driving the car, the abs light, emergency brake light, and traction control light will come on. When these come on the speedometer always quits working. Sometimes turning off the car will solve the problem but other times it won't do anything. Dealership has not been able to fix it. Other people have had the same problem with the Hyundai Accent. There are forums about it if you just look them up. Definitely a problem that needs to get fixed that seems to not be able to get fixed.
While driving, the electrical system glitches, all of the lights on the dashboard flash on and off as if the car is shutting off then the trip miles return to 0. 0. I bought the car September 2020. This happened January 20, 2021 and again on may 29, 2021.
As I went to take a turn the vehicles electric power steering went out causing loss of control of the vehicle. The electric power steering is faulty and others should know about this major safety defect. Again what exactly happened was as I was turning the steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn then all of a sudden it turned extremely easy, "more than normal" and caused loss of control of the vehicle resulting in a head on collision that injured me and left me with fractured ribs and sternum.

Wow entering the highway my car stalled out in the middle of traffic the never cut out just will not drive more than about 5 miles an hour even with putting my foot all the way down on the pedal turn it off for 30 minutes started back up started driving start out again almost causing me to wreck multiple times no warning lights or anything popped up I still have no lights on my dash and it is still not drivable had to get it towed by aaa I don't understand how did you record that is 3 years old is having this issue with no warning I'm very blessed that my children weren't in the car considering the diesels coming behind me why are the highways with this happening all of the sudden the car does not shut down it just loses power far as driving accelerating.
The system that malfunctioned was the brake light(s) and/or electrical components which started a fire in the trunk of my car on 2 separate occasions. On one of the occasions, the top break light in my trunk apparently blew out without my knowledge, it wasn't until my two kids in the backseat started to smell smoke that I pulled over and tried to figure out where the smoke was coming from. When I opened my trunk, I noticed the top break light had burned through the encasement and the wiring was dangling in my trunk which caught a plastic bag on fire. On another occasion, it burned part of a brand-new rug before I caught it in time. I was told by two separate auto mechanics that for some reason the electrical current running through the wiring to the light bulbs is what caused it. When I brought it into Hyundai, they acted like it was no big deal. I recently got my oil changed at valvoline this past week and they found another one of my brake lights had blown out (this time the right brake light), the auto mechanic at valvoline told me that she has encountered a lot of blown-out lights in Hyundais versus other vehicle manufacturers and stated she believes it has something to do with the electrical components of the vehicle and an excess amount of electricity going through the electrical wiring to the light bulbs. My vehicle can be made available for inspection but it’s my fault for when I brought it in originally to Hyundai not to ask for the broken/melted pieces that they replaced. I do have the rug which was partially burned but do not have the plastic bag that was burned. Both my kids under 10 and myself were put at risk during these episodes. If I didn’t catch it in time on both occasions, my kids could've been severally injured by fire since they were closest to the trunk. It posed a distraction as well. The problem was confirmed by the Hyundai dealership in winter park, FL when I brought it in. There were no warnings, only noticed when we smelled smoke.
During hot/warm weather, typically 65 degrees or hotter, as soon as I turn on my car, the traction control light, the abs light, and emergency brake light comes on. When this happens, the speedometer does not work. The gas level on the screen will also fluctuate, as well as the odometer stops counting miles. The car will still drive normal with all these specific lights, but is obviously extremely dangerous as the speedometer does not work. Sometimes when this issue is happening, if I drive around for 10 minutes, the speedometer will start working again and all the lights go out besides the traction control light. If I then find a spot to turn off my car and on again, it goes back to normal with no lights illuminated on the dashboard, the speedometer works, and the gas gauge goes back to what it is supposed to be at. However, at the same time, the issue might seemed to have fixed itself, but then will start happening again when I’m in the middle of driving. I tried taking it to Hyundai, as at the time this first began happening my car was under warranty still, and they told me my abs connection was corroded, so they put in a new one. This did not fix the issue at all and the issue started back up again not even 30 minutes after leaving Hyundai. I had to leave town and couldn’t get the issue checked out again right after. This all started happening when my car was around 57,000 miles. I now have almost 75,000 miles and the problem still occurs. I have noticed that this only occurs when it is hot/warm outside and the car sits for a little, as stated above. I live in NY, so during the colder winter months, this issue never happens. This all is very worrisome when your speedometer stops working out of no where, or having the thought that it’ll get worse somehow when I’m driving at higher speeds, then all of this will put myself and others in danger on the road.
The passenger side door lock stopped working about two months ago. Can not unlock the door manually inside or with a key outside or with remote. Despite the age of the vehicle or warranty, this is without a doubt a serious safety issue, and the, NHTSA, should have already have had ordered a mandatory recall, given hundai motors is aware of this problem and has not acted on its own. Given the,NHTSA's record on recalls ( reactive rather than pro active ) based on the number of deaths required, any mandated recall is highly unlikely. . . The n in NHTSA, best represents neglect!.

Driving on highway on vacation coming from florida, the car lost power for 3 seconds and came back on again. Weird it happened. Hasnt happened since but scary to completely shutdown then start up again. The motor continue to run but lights and everythg else shut. It was weird. This happen summer 2020. Was not raining and was on straight highway.
While driving on a highway, the icons on the instrument panel flash, the speedometer drop to zero and then rebounds and the trip mileage counter changes to zero miles traveled. It's happened twice in the last 12 months.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Accent. The contact stated while her daughter was driving 45 mph, when she noticed the front driver side headlight were not illuminating. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to auto zone and was informed it was a electronica issue. The contact called local dealer murfreesboro Hyundai located at 2203 NW broad st suite Hyundai, murfreesboro, TN 37129, was made aware of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired as of yet. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 112,979. Dp.
All power windows have gone out cannot roll up all motors out 280 each to replace only 60k miles.
All three brake lights went out. We tried every basic fix but our personal mechanic says power is not going through the control module and we will need to have it specially repaired by a Hyundai professional. We recieved a citation because our brake lights unknowingly went out and none of the obvious fixes such as bulbs, fuses, or brakes switch replacement ammended the issue. We are at a loss as to how to fix this but saw recalls on other Hyundai models but not this one. We are thinking this is a similar problem. This has literally ruined our lives. We 100% depend on this vehicle and now we have nothing.

Occasionally when you accelerate it hesitates and does not respond. It has been taken to a mechanic and a dealer and they cannot find the problem but it does happen. It is dangerous especially when pulling out onto a very busy road where I live this is a side street entering a very busy highway or most anytime. It is random it happens ever since car was purchased can't give exact date.
Airbag light comes on and off at random, regardless of whether there is a passenger in the seat or not. Car was taken to a Hyundai dealership, and they discovered a seat cushion with a sensor was malfunctioning. This would cost close to a $1000. 00 to fix. This is a safety issue, thus, this should be a recall. Do not wait until enough people and children have died from this. Most of us do not have $1000. 00 to dish out for a fancy seat cushion. I see from many complaints that this is a big problem. Please take this seriously and put out a recall for those of us that are too broke to fix a safety malfunction that came with the car.
The air bag warning light came on (and stays on) for no apparent reason when car was started. The car has not sustained any impact or any damage. It appears a sensor has failed. The car has less than 42k miles and is in perfect shape.
When the car turns over, the brake, traction control, and abs light stays on, the speedometer doesn't move when in motion and the fuel range switches numbers while in motion.
Multiple times now on the dash display the indicator lights for the abs, traction control, and brakes are illuminated. This occurs while the vehicle is parked. Additionally, if you put the car in gear and begin driving, the speedometer does not work and remains at zero. Many other people have reported the same issues on various websites. A safety recall should definitely be issued before it causes someone to wreck.
The dash lights; brake, abs, and traction control lights come on. The speedometer also does not work while driving. The gas gauge is going up and down and not showing the correct gas. The electrical appears to be malfunctioning, but the dealer has yet to recreate the issue. This has happened twice in a span of a week. Videos were taken both times it occurred on 5/14/19 and 5/20/19, but are too large to upload.
Receive an recall on my vehicle concerning brakes lights, but I bought the car on the year of our lord 2007 and the dealer no longer exist. What can I do in such a case to correct the default.

My daughter called to tell me that upon starting the car and still in park, the brake light and abs control lights were lit up, as well as the speedometer was not working. This should be addressed by the manufacturer as this poses a serious problem for a driver.
On Saturday March 23, 2019 I was driving my 2012 Hyundai Accent on the highway. I was traveling in the left hand lane, on cruise control, going about 73 mph. A semi-truck in the right hand land a few hundred yards in front of me moved over into my lane due to a construction zone ahead, so I attempted to turn off my cruise control to slow down for the merging semi-truck. I applied the brakes but my car did not turn off cruise-control or slow down, but instead accelerated. I attempted again to hit the brakes to turn off cruise control, but again the car did not slow down. I tried both the cancel and the on/off buttons on the steering wheel, but there was no way to disengage cruise control. I was quickly approaching the semi-truck and was unable to slow down my moving vehicle. In order to avoid rear-ending the semi-truck at highway speeds, I was forced to veer left off the highway onto the soft shoulder, and was traveling locked on cruise control at 73 mph halfway on the grass median and halfway on the rumble strip of the soft shoulder. The brakes and steering wheel switches were still not working, regardless of how much I applied the brakes or what combination I hit the switches. I was finally able to get my car to slow down by hitting the clutch and stalling my car. This was an absolutely horrific incident, and I am lucky to have been uninjured and to have avoided what could have been a very serious accident.
Was driving when all of the sudden my air flow stopped working. It made sound but wouldnt change over to feet/full body or defrost. Stayed like that while driving and in motion.
Was driving my car on the highway and my speedometer kicked off. I was in motion and then the abs, break and traction lights popped up and my speedometer went to 0 even though I was traveling at about 70mph. This is dangerous and poses a real threat to safety. It has happened many times.
When I got the car from the car lot the told sumbit recall that theu did not have time to do with a lamp switch.

Occasionally, when going to usr my vehicle, I will try to unlock the car with my fob and notice it won't respond. Upon starting my vehicle, the engine turns over but my electronics don't fully activate. My clock is off, the radio doesn't turn on, and I can't use the dome lights. However, my dashboard information panel does display my odometer, fuel, and temp gauge, and I can scroll through the display options, but they have all reset. My telltale warning lights come on briefly like a normal start, and when they go away my tpms telltale remains flashing, indicating it's not getting a signal from my tires. Finally, though my engine sounds like is running, I can't put my vehicle in gear. My only fix has been to let the vehicle sit with the engine running for any where between 2 and 20 minutes, turn the vehicle off, and retry. Once it finally decides to turn on normal, the clock will display, although reset, my tpms no longer displays, and I can get into gear. Time sitting seems to not effect it because it can sit for days and work normal or hours and act up. My only possible explanation seems to involve the weather after getting very cold or excessive precipitation, but even that isn't necessarily going to guarantee this problem. It may just be pure randomness and it doesn't seem right at all.
I was in an accident on March 12 2018 a tractor trailer sidewiped the LS of my car and destroyed the entire side . The car might be totaled. No airbags went off at all! he came into my lane at a good speed and a full load. I am lucky to be alive. I have had other problems with this car only to be ignored by the dealer. I paid cash for the car at the end of 2015 and now I have nothing. Besides being hurt.
Electrical malfunction with window device causing a passenger door fire. Also causing no headlights, rear lights, interior electrical everything, locks and windows all around the car not to function. Hyundai declines paying yet still wants this vehicle as is on the road. Please see attached photo. On 1/15/18 it was a cold day, I rolled the window down and attempted to roll it back up with the window started making noise. It did roll up and I proceeded back inside to work. I went outside on break and my car was on fire. The car was not in motion and no one was in the vehicle to initiate the fire.
